Ok so I'm use to buying versus leasing but am looking at leasing a 2015 gti SE four door manual within the lighting package in southern NJ. What kind of pricing am I looking at based on 12k miles a year possibly 15k if I can. Pricing meaning monthly and price of the car . $27k-$28 is what I seem to be looking at but $400 for a VW lease seems a lot no? Again I'm new to leasing and need a new car in two months and love this car . Only reason I want the SE is the moonroof. Could careless about the leather. I'm thinking a preowned 2014 as well but just not sure ..

    Thanks in advance!

The nationally advertised lease for the same car, but with automatic is $339/mo,. with $1999 due at signing... Of course, tax, title registration is on top of that.. 36mo, 12K/yr. 15K/yr would be about $18/mo. more..

VW's lease assumptions assume a $500 discount from MSRP... if you can do better, then you should be a little lower. But, it's all in the details. If you only want to pay $500 at lease signing, then add $40/mo. With tax, you can be up to $400/mo. pretty easily.

Can you confirm that 2 door models have $500 lease cash available? I'm not seeing anything about this on the vw.com website or dealer sites. Thanks

Yes.. $500 only on the 2-doors. It's a dealer bonus, so you won't see it advertised

A dealer just told me that there is a $1300 incentive for leasing a GTI OR option of 00010 Money Factor. He said that the new percentage would be 2.24% with the $1300 incentive as opposed to .24%. Is there truth to this that you know of? The difference is roughly $30 bucks a month in the monthly payments so I want to be positive this is correct? Thanks

We don't see any "options" to the GTI lease programs for June. If this was a mid-month change or addition, we wouldn't know about it.

@zzbell It sounds to me like the dealer is trying to justify marking up the money factor, after you called him on it.

In other words, if he gives you the base MF, he'll make $1300 less, and rather than just say that, he is telling you that he loses some sort of incentive from VW. In a way, he does. When he marks up the money factor, VCI pays him part of that extra money, upfront.

Hi I'm about to enter a lease for a 2015 VW Golf GTI SE 2door. Am I getting a good deal? I think I am but was hoping to get a second opinion. I'm based in SoCal. 36 mo/12k mile term.

    MSRP: 29750
    Final Sale Price : 28800

    Residual : 16362.50
    Money Factor : 0.001 (I think?)

1500 down (drive off fees and first month payment included in this amount. With 650 being left over to be applied to the lease)

    336/mo = Monthly Payment
    366 mo = After Tax

.00010 (three zeroes) MF and 55% residual. $500 lease cash on 2-door models.

I get about 7/mo. less, but that's pretty close.

You'd think that with the $500 lease cash, you could get a little more off sticker... but, these are strong sellers, so maybe not. That's a fair deal, I think.

Huh, I didn't know about the $500 lease cash...This is my first time buying/leasing a car so it's a little difficult trying to not get screwed over. I miscalculated on the money factor, yes it looks like about 7 a month (250 total) is being added on. That's not much, might be some sort of fee (?), but I'll inquire about that and the leash cash. They mentioned that the sale price was at invoice. It doesn't look like I can go any lower since it's a popular choice.

In terms of negotiation, what is a reasonable % off MSRP for a GTI or VW in general?

VW's advertised leases assume about 2% discount from MSRP on a GTI. I would say a decent deal is about 4% off.. + any available incentives.

Hard to generalize about all VWs, as the incentives vary widely.

Hello, I'm aware the numbers or offers may change tomorrow and was wondering if you could post them when they're available?

Looking at a 2015 GTI S Manual, no options or packages in CT if that matters.

New to leasing but seems like a great option. Figure having these numbers will help!

    Thank You!

.00015 MF and 52% residual for 36/15. $250 lease cash. Not 100% certain how VW would handle an 18K lease - either subtract 2% from the residual or charge .10-.25 per mile and deduct that from the 15K residual amount.

I'm interested in leasing a GTI SE with MT and lighting package. I have a not very complicated situation but I would appreciate any feedback:

How much would be a fair monthly for the above vehicle for 3 years, 12,000 miles in California? Any info on what is a fair purchase price, MF and residual would be nice.

I have three payments to go on a lease of a Honda Pilot at $377 a month. The Honda is going for a bit more than what my residual is. Should I plan on just parking the pilot and turn it in at the end of the lease or should I try to sell on my own? Or lastly, is it possible that the VW dealership will take it? Can I expect any equity out of it?

Thank you in advance, I test drove the GTI today and I'm eager to get one :)

If a VW dealer will take your Pilot in trade, and pay off the lease, then that's the way I would go.. Otherwise, wait until the last month before getting another car. Eating three months of lease payments is wasting money.

The advertised lease for a $30,300 SE is $339/mo. with $2000 due at signing. Of course, tax, title and registration is on top of that. You should be able to do that well, at the very least.

Thank you so much kyfdx for the useful information. If they were to take my Pilot, could any of that be used as part of the $2,000 down? How about going in with zero down, any chance the payment could stay in the $339 range?

If it's worth more than the payoff, then certainly you can use that money for your upfront.

Not likely that you'll get a deal $2000 under the advertised deal, but you can try.

    .00015 and 52%. $250 lease cash.

Using your MSRP and sale price, I get a pre-tax payment of $406.51.

Be advised that in Texas, the sales tax is applied to the entire selling price, making the lease payment that much more expensive.

Each $1000 of negative equity will add about $28/mo to your payment.

    Hi,

Looking for current MF, residuals, current incentives and payment range for the following car(s):

    795 credit score.

    1. 2015 GTI 2-door. S w/ PP and Lighting Package. MSRP $29,550.

    2. 2015 GTI 4-door. S w/ Lighting Package. MSRP $28,415.

    California (8.0% tax).

    Thank you.

Received an offer from a local dealer that seems a bit high.

    2015 GTI S DSG w/ Lighting Pkg. 4-door.

    $28,650 MSRP
    $27,612 Selling Price.
    $14,898 Residual 52%
    .00015 MF
    Pre-tax payment is $389

    Drive-off $831.40. No lease cash.

That seems high comparing it to the deal just a few posts above for a vehicle with a $31,750 selling price and the pre-tax payments are almost the same. ($389 vs. $406)

I'm looking to lease a 2015 4dr GTI DSG Autobahn. It looks like for the Bay Area, VW sunnyvale has the biggest selection of GTI's. I went over there to inquire about an SE with PP, hoping to get them to go about 1,5k below MSRP of 33,3k (which is quite reasonable based on this thread) but they said they wouldn't because of the PP option, which is apparently rare and highly desirable.

They were more willing to go below MSRP on their Autobahn's. I told them I would browse around the Bay for other dealerships for now.

The RV for 36/12 is 54% and the MF is .00015 as far as I know, could anyone confirm these numbers for me?

I confirm the MF and RV.

Yes, the PP is highly desirable and in short supply, so dealers aren't as willing to come down on price on those cars.

Good luck, and let us know how the search goes.

Thank you, I will. I found an Autobahn at 34k with lightning package and driver assist. Are those options equally as desirable as the PP? I'm looking to go 1,5-2k below MSRP.

Probably less so than the PP, but GTI's in general aren't seeing a lot of discounting. Have you read back through the last page or two of this discussion to see what kind of discounts others have been able to negotiate?

Thanks! Yes I have; I've seen anything from $500 all the way up to $2500. The dealer at the Sunnyvale location already offered 1k off MSRP on a 32k Autobahn, bringing it pretty close to it's invoice. That particular model isn't the one I'm looking for though, which is why I am in search for alternatives.

If it's $30K or more of my money, I'd get exactly what I want and not settle for something that's on the lot.

Not sure if this is appropriate for this thread but I didn't see another thread on purchasing & leasing like the old forums.
Question is: GTI's being discounted yet? Specifically in my case: 4 Doors S automatic with lighting.

I know the Performance Packs are hard to come by but I really just want an S with lighting.
Or should I wait till later in the fall when the 2016 rolls in & the 15's will start being discounted.

The advertised deals include about $600 discount from MSRP.. Can probably push for $800-$1000.

I had a look at the BMW section of the forum; no wonder people say BMW's are one of the most leasable cars around. For the monthly price of a 32k~ GTI, which barely gets any discounts, you can get a 40-41k BMW with 4-5k discount from MSRP.

The only thing I'm seeing that is more costly on BMW's side is the aq/documentation fee
