Inception fee is a euphemism for the amount due at signing.

$595 acquisition fee and 1st payment... you'll have to ask for a breakdown of the rest of it.. I would assume title/registration and some sort of dealer document fee... but, I sure wouldn't take a big number like $1500 and just accept it, without some sort of explanation.

Inception is a catch all that includes bank/acquisition fee, dealer fee and license or tag costs.

A dealer has told me that any tech/moonroof packages do not increase the residual value, which is calculated on the base MSRP for each trim level. Is this true?

.00001 and 55% for Touring and 54% for GT. $1500 lease cash.

Individual options and packages do not affect the residual numbers. The residual is based on the MSRP of the bottom line price of the sticker, including destination.

I don't think the Kansas City area has that offer; just lease cash depending on loyalty or previous competitive lease.

It's a manufacturer - to - dealer incentive. They probably won't tell you about it.

Question : I'm not a big lease guy. Trying to help my neighbor and kid get the best deal on The 2016 mazda6.... 3yr/36k lease NY. Both sport model and touring model can be had at invoice price minus a 500 chase credit card rebate making deal 500 below invoice both models.

Numbers below on models. Does it make sense to upgrade to the touring model. Does the saving justify the price increase ? how much of a difference could we be talking about. They want to keep monthly payment at no more than the quoted $248 mo with $1689 out of pocket for sport model. Breakdown NY tax 8.875 %, ($845) doc fee 75, bank fee 595, 1st mo $248, $106 plate transfer = 1689 OOP plus 248 for 35 months.

Sport model msrp = 24,170
selling price = 22,965 minus 500 chase card rebate = 22,465 sale price.

Touring msrp= 25,815. invoice = 24,433 minus 500= 23,933

appreciate some good lease advice.

the touring does have some functional improvements. Power seat and BLIS are 2 big ones that can be important. 19" wheels can go either way.

how much difference in the lease price? the models may have different residuals. I was quoted on both, with the touring only being $10 more somehow.

36/12 numbers on the 2016 Mazda 6:
Sport - .00001 and 59%
Touring - .00001 and 60%

Using the MSRP and net sale price for each, I get a payment of $228.28/mo for the Sport and $234.95/mo for the Touring.

Less than $7/mo to upgrade to the Touring makes a lot of sense to me, given all the extra equipment it comes with.

Just want to thankyou guys for the info provided and give a update in the NY/NJ Mazda area.

Emailed 18 Mazda dealers today for best quotes using the lease numbers provided by Michaell. 9 dealerships would not go below $240 a month 36/12k on Sport model. Alot of the dealers were $259 to 269 on the Touring model.

I did manage get 2 dealers to commit to a $229 deal for the sport model with about 1600 out of pocket for Tax, Dmv, bank fee, 1st mo pymt. Waiting on 4 dealerships to commit to the $339 mo for a touring model. Will see tomorrow end of the month is closing in Then my neighbor and his kid can decide which model he wants.

the programs do end tomorrow. I'm hoping they at least stay the same next month. would really annoy me if I end up getting one after all, but have to pay more!

Yes touring. A few dealers have said same incentives will remain in JUNE.

they are just guessing. Mazda doesn't release anything until the first day of the new period. quite likely though. Bigger issue is if the lease residuals change. At least these are 16s, so should be less volatile.

In this case, they aren't guessing. The current program is actually scheduled to run through June 30th.

Yeah... they can always change it. Audi is big on that.. two month program, but then sending out an update after one month. But, this looks solid, to me.

And I assume these numbers are for Mazda Capital Services leases? Is there any chance a dealership may try to use another leasing company with different terms? I've never bought a car before (or leased) so trying to learn as much as I can before I hit the dealerships this weekend.

56% and .00001 for 36/15. Add 2% for 12K.

Dealers are free to use whatever bank they want for leases; we only have the numbers from MCS.

Awesome thanks! Is it safe to assume that all dealers are going to offer MCS as an option? Or could they make the decision to deal only with other lenders?

I ask because I'm also in the process of buying a house (and need to buy a car at the same time since I'm relocating from NYC and a no car lifestyle) and want to try my hardest to limit the number of hard credit inquiries. I know that multiple auto credit inquiries are supposed to only count as once towards your score if they happen within a short time frame but I've been reading too many horror stories on the internet about people seeing their scores drop 50 points after getting 10-15 hard inquiries from dealers shopping for the best rate. So if I'm able to tell the dealer I want a lease but only from MCS then I can feel a little bit better that there's only going to be one inquiry.

It's my opinion that most Mazda dealers will use MCS - the rates are the best.
