I agree that EVs will have a bigger place but in no danger of replacing ICE entirely. And it will be a gradual turnover of the total fleet, especially on the cheaper end.

I think a lot hinges on technological breakthroughs related to batteries. Need solutions that up range, lower recharge time, and use a lot less rare and hard to source materials. There are apparently a lot of potential tech solutions there, just need the big breakthrough.

I would be perfectly happy with an EV if it could have a realistic 400 miles range on a highway speed trip, with a 15-20 minute tops recharge interval.

Locally, RUG is selling at $1.33/L today. Try your conversion tool on that to get the equivalant US gallon/USD price.

Yeh, that extra 50 cents would get me a down payment on a Dunkin Donuts coffee. I stopped for a coffee a few days ago, it was $2.40 for a small one...that's more expensive than gas! What happened to can I have a dime for a coffee? I know I have sticker shock but it seems to me the last time I had coffee at McDs which was 3 or 4 years ago it was about $1.......what is happening!!!!!!!! (8 this time).

$1.33 CDN = $1.04 USD

I had the same thing happen only in my favor. I checked my internet gas price site and went to the cheapest place ($3.34/gal) and when I got there it was only $3.32/gal.

Small victory.

I’m glad I’m not the only one in here that enjoys building Lego’s.

I really wanted the new Titanic model they just did, but $630 is a little crazy. Luckily it sold out instantly and I didn’t have to worry about it!!

It's interesting to read how life is going on in other locales. Here in Nova Scotia we are essentially shut down by Public Health yet again and only the brave and the scofflaws are having traditional Christmas gatherings of family and friends. The Omicron virus got a foothold a couple of weeks ago thanks to an ill-advised ceremony involving 1000 or so people at a provincial university and it spread quickly. Few people are actually very sick or have any symptoms at all, but daily new case counts of over 500 for a number of days caused the govt to shut everything down again until Jan. 12. Ho-ho-effing-ho.

Nothing special here in Colorado. Stepson and wife are coming up today and we're making Shepherd's Pie for dinner. Girls have a 3 day break from the studio - yesterday, today and tomorrow, then back at it again on Sunday. Another 3 day break next weekend.

Studio had a pretty good year, overall, and the summer camp season registrations start on 1 January -you'd be suprised at how many registrations we get in January and February - highly competitive!.

Ah, I get it, Shepherd's Pie because of the shepherds.....very clever.
And parents signing up kids in January for summer camp...there is a plan there and I know exactly what it is. You certainly don't want to miss signing them up in time...and having them home all day.

I saw that at our local Lego store. It’s amazing. I missed out on the classic Mini that they offered a few years ago. I also like the Star Destroyer but it’s a bit dear at $700.

Since I was filling the cargo van, about 50 cents. That’s why it was a small victory. To be a sweet victory the guy next to me would have had to pay for my gas by mistake.

I had a weird dream last night.

In this dream I had purchased a number of old 60s hoopties and had them scattered all over the yard. A group of teens showed up and wanted to buy one in particular, a white 67’ Chrysler Newport with rusted wheel wells. They were enthusiastic because they said it had a 427 engine which was desirable. I figured that since they didn’t know that Chrysler didn’t make a 427 I had some fish on the line and went to get the keys.

I couldn’t find them.

The more I looked the more junk and debris started filling the house to the point where I couldn’t even get back out the door. The dream ended when my wife climbed to the top of a closet and all the junk collapsed, leaving her buried head first with her feet in the air.

The last thing I remember was the kids saying they had changed their mind, leaving me frustrated and furious.

Maybe I shouldn’t have eaten a plate of my wife’s Christmas cookies before bed.

I was told not to use my TV until they can find an electron strain that can kill the Omicron strain that infected it.

Those must be old figures. Even 2 days ago there were 129 hospitalizations in the U.K. and 14 deaths from Omicron. Omicron is milder, but it can be dangerous if you are one of the unlucky ones.
