Noticed my neighbor across the street no longer seemed to have his 1998 Acura CL (Canadian Acura version of a ‘98 Civic sedan with nicer trim inside and a different grille). He had inherited from his late mother’s estate 7 or 8 years ago with about 50000km (30k miles) on it and had been using it as his DD ever since. I got talking to him and he told me that on Super Bowl Sunday he went to the supermarket and on his way home the brake pedal started going almost to the floor. He took it to his favorite shop and they diagnosed a corroded brake line, but after it was up on the hoist they noticed that the rear suspension and unibody parts that it attached to was badly corroded to the point where they would have had to revoke his vehicle inspection certification, meaning his registration at DMV would be voided. He got over 100000km out of it, so it didn’t owe him anything. He says he might buy something brand new to replace it. Scrapyard gave him $300 for it.

As most of you already know, I usually get bored with my cars after a year or so - history here on Edmunds is my evidence of my new car purchasing frequency. So, since my G90 is just about 2 years old (March 29th) and has about 12,500 miles on the odometer, I thought that I should be looking around for a new car as an activity which I hoped would redirect my attention from my severe back pain to new car investigations.
So, my friends, my love affair with my 2021 Genesis G90 continues - especially considering I have a 1.9% finance contract with Genesis Financial for another 3 years and this car still rides and handles as good as the day I drove it off the new car lot. This one's a keeper!!!
I doubt there is that much difference in the ride and comfort of a 2023 G90 compared to yours....especially considering what you would have to pay in the difference.
The real test would be comparing your G90 to one of these babies; The Best Deal I found was a 2003 with 46000 miles for $12900. It is hard to find one with under 100000 miles.
@oldfarmer50, Go to the IRS website, download and print them.
Can’t. No printer. I’ll probably stop by the library and have them print one if they don’t have any on hand. I know I’m being deliberately resistant but that’s one of my passive aggressive quirks.
I give you credit O-F, how do you survive without a printer?

my daughter does not have one, so it can be done. I just don't think OF is doing it by storing all his documents that need printing in his iPhone wallet!
I went to my sister-in-laws park for Hot Dog Tuesday today and there was a KIA K5 GT parked outside....it looked really nice, inside and outside. I have no idea what it would be like driving or even sitting in one, but I thought it looked really nice.
First, (back in the '50s) it was "made in Japan" was bad, then we progressed(?) to "made in China" was bad. Some now say that "made in USA (whatever that means these days) isn't necessarily bad, but not up to snuff.

Here is the explanation: The IRS is updating Business Rule F8960-019-04 to include Schedule C (Form 1040) amounts from Schedule 1 (Form 1040), line 3. These updates will be implemented by mid-March. Please repeat the Filing steps to resubmit your return after that time. We apologize for the inconvenience.
So you got rejected due to the net investment income bug. That's been an issue for at least a month and its not sure when it will be resolved. You can wait a week or two and refile or you can send it in as a paper return but that would take longer to get your refund.

I’ve always done my own taxes for myself and the farm because I too refuse to pay to have someone tell me how much I have to give the government.
Speaking of the government it is becoming clear that both federal and state intend to harass anyone who continues to submit paper returns. I requested all the forms from the feds in January. Gird the they sent me a postcard saying all the forms were “unavailable” and would be sent later. So far all they have given me is Schedule B, nothing else. NYS is even worse. No library or post office has any state forms and the NY tax department refuses to accept requests for forms and then hangs up on you.
And before you ask, I use paper because I want to.
I'm glad to be back behind the wheel of the Clubman again; as I mentioned in the CCBA topic, an intermittent misfire had become constant. Thanks to FCP Euro, I was able to replace all four coils and spark plugs for $125. The fix took all of 45 minutes and the car is back to averaging 40 mpg or more to and from work.

there are a lot of people without the tools, space, or abilities to do that kind of dismantling of a car. Plus, if it is that far gone from the rust devil, you are going to be taking it apart with a torch and grinding wheel.

Except for about 10 miles of interstate, the rest of the trip was on rural two lanes. I still tended to drive at around 65 mph. Even then a brodozer just had to pass me. For once an especially twisty portion of the route wasn't infested with the usual timid nitwits who take corners at 15 mph below the advisory speed while riding the brakes the entire time. As a result I was able to push the car a bit harder than I have previously. I was very impressed by how the car handled the tighter corners, and how early you can get back on the power.

What had you driving so slowly to achieve such efficiency?
Except for about 10 miles of interstate, the rest of the trip was on rural two lanes. I still tended to drive at around 65 mph. Even then a brodozer just had to pass me.
For once an especially twisty portion of the route wasn't infested with the usual timid nitwits who take corners at 15 mph below the advisory speed while riding the brakes the entire time. As a result I was able to push the car a bit harder than I have previously. I was very impressed by how the car handled the tighter corners, and how early you can get back on the power.
