We don't recommend you put any cash down on a lease (the $1641.30) - if the car is stolen or totaled, you lose that money. Not putting the money down increases your pre-tax payment only $45.59 - the $5000 rebate is certainly helping you keep the payment down.
In fact, you should keep the entire $3000 in your pocket and use part of the $5000 rebate to cover your up front costs - first payment, license ($406) and acquisition fee ($595) - and use the rest as cap cost reduction.
Re-calculating the numbers, using the same $52,635 as the MSRP and the new adjusted cap cost of $44,240.09 ($47,762 - (5000 - (406 + 8.75 + first payment), I get a pre-tax payment of $448.85; after 8.5% tax, $478.32.
This is a pretty good payment for a car that stickers at almost $53,000 - you keep the $3K in your pocket.

What @alexfrnch said - we need that information in order to evaluate your deal.
Thank you! I currently have a 2013 Lexus RX350, 2 years into my lease and I want to trade for the genesis. Yes it's the v8 without ultimate package. I have the dealership looking for black on black ultimate if possible.
The MSRP was $49,368, but I will have the check the breakdown of the $1500 at signing. It covered the first month, bank fee, doc, registration, etc, but I will get the breakdown of each.

Hello, can I get the MF and Residual for 2015 Genesis 3.8 AWD sedan with Signature Package? I'm looking for 10k miles and 36 months. Are other terms better than 36 months? Registering in PA.

No 10K leases from Hyundai - 36/12 numbers are .00076 and 61%. $1500 lease cash. Those are the best numbers this month.
I am looking at the post by jreyes3844 , and you replied to on Feb. 20th (2015), in regard to his worksheet for a Hyundai Genesis. I am curious to know how he arrived to the figure of $46,925 for the initial Cap Cost (#11). I see the invoice on this car at roughly $49,014, and do not understand how he got over $2K under this figure. Is that figure what the dealer offered to sell the car from the MSRP ? I see rebates, but they are being applied in section #18, toward the adjusted cap.

That's what the deal sheet shows... $5700 discount from MSRP.. plus the $5000 rebate.
Hi, Can you please help me with numbers on Genesis Coupe? Considering lease of 2015 Genesis Coupe Base with Automatic transm. MSRP is $28,845 (I am assuming I can negotiate this down to $26K). I am in NY and would like a 10k lease for 36 or 39 Months. What is the current MF and RV on these? Can you please run the numbers to give me what would be a good monthly payment? Thanks

Thanks Michaell, I guess $1500 incentive can be applied to depreciation value, in which case I am getting pre-tax payments of $320.55 per month on 36 month lease.

The $1500 can be used to reduce the cap cost or to help cover the up front costs of the lease.
Hello, could i get numbers for Genesis 3.8 RWD with sig and tech. 36 month, 20,000 miles a year? Was quoted .00041 and 57% residual. Is this correct? I am in So Cal. Thanks!

Those numbers are correct for a 36 month, 15,000 mile lease. Extra miles are purchased up front for .10-.25 per mile.
Amino... my price included both lease cash and conquest incentives. As I continue to shop around, I 'm starting to see that the price quoted is pretty consistent across dealerships in the east LA and north Orange county areas. Having been to my local dealership almost a half a dozen times in the last 6 weeks, I continue to see the same 3.8's. on lot. I wonder if slow sales (my perception) is prompting the discounts.
On a somewhat related note. Does anyone know when 2016 features/updates will be available to the public? I have the feeling an R-Spec model and more "Germancentric" amenities on the 3.8/5.0 models will be introduced. I'm curious to know if it will be worth waiting another 6-8 months.
Thanks Ajfresh! I would check genesisowners.com for updates on the new model. There is a thread on there with people posting what they paid, I have a feeling you can get another $1000 off the 3.8 w/ Ultimate, probably towards the end of the month!
2015 Genesis signature and tech package 36 mnths 12k lease 860 down (1st payment and DMV registration) 59% residual .0004 MF turning in a lease for a 2013 Azara with $3100 remaining that the dealer is paying off

is this a good deal? I wanted to be at 450 so I walked away

We would need to know the MSRP and the net capitalized cost to fully evaluate.
I would also get more clarification about the trade disposition - it's possible that negative equity was being rolled into your new deal.
They wouldn't give a lot of info on payoff the the lease just that it wouldn't be a trade in and they would pay the remaining balance.
Thanks!
Can't model the payment unless I have the cap cost.
I would call the bank and get the payoff of your current car, then head over to the "Real World Trade in Values" discussion and get an honest appraisal. Knowing those two numbers will help you understand the total lease deal. If there is negative equity, that amount will be added into the new lease. If you have positive equity, get the dealer to cut you a check for that amount - do not use it as down payment on the new lease.
Is the 5.0 not selling well? I was quoted an aggressively low price of $47,8... (After conquest rebate) for the ultimate package.. That price makes for a justifiable jump from the V6 I've been strongly considering. Any thoughts?

I don't think Hyundai is selling as many of the 5.0 Genesis as they'd like, hence the aggressive pricing.
Comments
Other manufacturers? Yeah, if you're cross shopping the Genesis against a BMW or Audi, they aren't bad.

So far the most aggressive pricing I've been able to get for both models has been.
3.8 w/ Ultimate - $43,709

Any help with lease payments on those amounts would also be appreciated?
