hi Michaell. The response I got from them is this :

The $2,200 includes your VA tax, our processing fee of $495, first payment and dealer fees.

I'm not sure how taxes are done on leases, but i think VA has a 6% Tax rate? Do I pay all 6% of full price or only on the residual price?

Virginia only taxes the depreciation amount - if the $2200 includes no cap cost reduction, then it seems as if your dealer is adding something to the cap cost to account for the $25/mo difference between my calcs and theirs.

Ask them for the net cap cost - if it's different from the "Your Price", ask them to explain the difference.

You were right, Your net cap cost is $36,540.12 and the Your price was $35,593. If I am able to make them make the net cap cost the same as the Your price would it be a good deal?

I don't track selling prices, so can't honestly tell you that.

There is a 3% difference in the residual between 10K and 15K miles per year.

It always makes sense to get the miles up front.

55% for 36/15; 58% for 36/10.

Florida dealer just told me MSRP on the 2015 TLX V6 AWD w Tech is $42,495, Cap cost w/ ACQ FEE, DEALER FEE, TINT, 1ST PAYMENT, TAG, TAX AND PROPACK IS $42,900. The Net cost with a $2451 discount is $40,718. Sign and drive payment of 549.00 Plus Tax. This is with a .00100 money factor and 58% residual for 36months. I believe this payment to be off by at least 60.00 a month. Am I wrong??

I get $511.78/mo before tax with those numbers.

I appreciate the fast reply, thank you, but how does it make sense to pay for mileage up front? Those 15,000 extra miles over 3 years would cost me $3,000 at the end of the lease. Can you tell me what it would cost me in terms of payments at a 3% lower residual per month or over 36 months? Lastly, doesn't the same theory as not putting money down apply? What if the car is stolen or totaled?

It's pretty simple... the cost is 3% of MSRP, paying it over the life of the lease.. So, that's $1275 by going for the 15K/yr lease.. or, wait and pay $3000 at lease end.

36/10 residuals:
FWD Tech - 60%
AWD Tech - 58%
FWD Adv - 58%

2.4 Base 36/12 - 62% and .00128 MF

Subtract 2% for 2.4 with Tech.

Add 1% for 10K miles.

Those numbers are with a CAP cost that is equal to the selling price.

I don't know what your $1000 is going for, so I didn't use it as a downpayment. For instance, no mention of the acquisition fee, which is $595.

Another general question on lease is that whereas the MF and residuals seem to be controlled by the car manufacturing company, the only reason why one dealer could be giving a better price is the starting / selling price used - is this a correct understanding?

Also the in the residual amount of lease calculators - is the % of MSRP that should be used or the % of price offered? So for e.g. if MSRP is 40% and residual is 60%. But the car is being offered (for calculation sake) at $30k. So residual value in the calculator is 24K or should it be input as 18K?

Yes.... selling price.. including "extras" you don't need. Dealer document fees, etc, etc..

Basically, the same reasons that any purchase price can vary, buy or lease.

As far as I know..only the V-6 models come in AWD form.
Residual % is always applied to MSRP.

V-6 with Tech FWD: .00067 MF and 60% residual for 39mo, 10K/yr

No published 20K lease rates ... most Acura allows is 15K, with extra miles purchased up front, @ .10-.25 per mile.

36/15 for AWD Tech is 55%; AWD Advance is 53%.

36mo, 15K/yr is the highest program mileage. Check with the dealer for the residual adjustment for 20K/yr.

Tech: .00067 MF and 55% residual
Advance: .00067 MF and 53% residual.

39 month special lease uses the same money factor and residuals.

Current Acura numbers are good until 5/11/15.

.00100 MF for TLX V6 and 60% / 59% / 57% / 53% (the last is valid for 36 or 39 months).
