Some people are quoting a fleet incentive of $2500? Does that mean they are part of a company like verizon which gives them a national discount, otherwise, I thought $2000 was the best available for anyone. Reading here, some pll say the residual for 36 months is 60% for 12K miles or is it 60% for 15K miles?

    60% for 36/15; 62% for 36/12

I don't see anything about MB cash back rebates or dealer incentives of C300 Sport AWD?

    Don't see anything where?

Edmunds only shows customer incentives, not factory-to-dealer. I have access to dealer incentive information, and I don't see any for the C-class

So, how are people getting 18/20% off sticker...my numbers are 15% off...

Assuming invoice is a 6-7% discount and dealer hold back is 3-4% more...$2,000 factory to dealer rebate/back would come to 15% all in, so to get to 20%, one would need another $2,500 cash back.

I don't see it, unless there are fleet incentives to people who work for certain companies on top of all this...but I was told by the dealer that there was $2,000 in factory to dealer incentives on C300s and C400s. If so, these numbers make sense.

Also, is the $925 destination fee a dealer markup or a MB charge/pass-thru?

It does seem like the lease markup to 0.00166 is a bit higher than the $15 month he indicated which I said seems fair, because it doesn't seem like he's making much money???

Check with other MB dealers and see what kind of discounts you can get from them.

And, don't worry about how much the dealer is (or isn't) making. Guaranteed they won't approve a deal where they are losing money.

Destination, or bank fee? Destination is part of the sticker price, bank fee goes to MBFS, not the dealer.

You gotta pay to get the car from the port to the dealer. The destination fee is probably an average of the cost of delivery. Too much if you live 10 miles from the port, a good deal if you're on the other side of the country.

We 're within 5 miles. of the port...they call it destination and delivery, so you're saying half that or more is profit? They also have $157 for "tag and title," and $298 for "documentation"?

Everybody gets charge the same amount, regardless of distance. Tag and title go to your local government for the license plates. The documentation fee, on the other hand, is pretty much all profit to the dealer

Can Multiple Security Deposits be used on C300 MF of .00136 ? I have read that MB will let you do 10 deposits with a reduction of .0007 for each.

What do you all think is 15% off doable for a 2015 for this weeks end of the quarter?
  • soxfan1918soxfan1918 Member Posts: 18
So, I got the lease rate down to the base MB rate of 0.00136...15% off seems like a good deal to me. They are marking up the loan origination fee by a few hundred bucks and maybe making a few bucks off the loan origination fee, but they have to pay a commission to the salesman...just don't see much margin on the transaction itself...my concern is/was that the lease residuals will drop 2% on July 1st, which would cost $1,100...and many reduce whatever factory to dealer incentive seems to have been in place, as MB has cleared out so many vehicles with this promo. On the plus side, they do hire someone to run to the registry and take care of plates/registration and they give you a fresh inspection sticker and full tank of gas...they really can't be making very much...mostly goodwill and future money on service.

The current lease numbers are very favorable when you buy a super loaded car, because the residual is based on the MSRP, so when you get a heavily discounted car, you're financing such a small amount...wish the lease factors/interest rates on the C400 were more attractive, but the C300 is surprising peppy in Sport + mode.

We've heard that with Mercedes, money factor reductions for MSDs are only taken from the standard money factor, which is much higher. That negates any advantage on a model that already has a subvented money factor (like this one).

I exchanged emails with my dealer today and asked about MSD's and was told that I could use them on the C Class to lower the MF from .00136 to .00066 by putting 10 deposits down. He did mention that MB previously did not allow it but now they do.

Agreed on a 40,000 cap cost for a $46,380 car with a lease payment of $384 a month with 12k miles. Hopefully they honor this deal when I go down there.

We were told that if you pay 100% of the lease in a single payment, they still charge you 1.4% interest, so we went with the standard 3% interest, rate minus .0010 for direct payment (saved about $12 month). A few more things:

We bought the maintenance plan for $1295, which is a discount from the about $700 on the inflated cost of the first four services. We also bought the tire and wheel warranty which we heard Mercedes is losing money on and as of today is going with a new program which will have a $50 deductible per wheel/tire and a $200 lifetime maximum. Not so good...But these items can be included in your MSRP from which your residual is based, so it decreased the lease payment by $21/month, or $756, so that was a nice surprise.

What are the new lease factors and residuals for July? Does anything change or are we still at 62/60% for 12k/15k miles and .00126 (less = .0010 for direct payment).

Also, we learned that you shouldn't make any voluntary cap reduction payments because if you get in an accident which becomes a total loss, you will lose any benefit of that down payment: your free gap insurance would have bought you a new car had you not put that money down, so why risk it?

That's a 13.7% discount from list...more evidence of a factory to dealer incentive in the $2000 range, since a 13% discount is below invoice + the entire dealer holdback.

Yes. That's typical late in the model year.

You got an 8.3% discount...plus the free service..., which if valued at $1000, gives you an implied discount of more than 10%.

Did you get the service package which includes all 4 services, including the second B service w transmission fluid wash, which is the most expensive part of the service package (that service alone retails for $700+) and the service that makes the service plan a particularly good deal...if so, that sells for $1295 (cost is prob about $900?)...the 3 service package sells for about $900. (With 10K miles you might have only got the 3 services, because the second B service doesn't come until something like 40K miles.)

They seem to have kept the $2000 factory to dealer incentive as their profit.

Thanks. I need to check the specifics of the service plan, but how did you work out a discount of only 8.3%?

I took $4,000 divided by $48,000 = 8.3%: $4,000 discount being $48,000 list price minus $41,000 cap cost plus $3,000 down payment (unless I misunderstood you).

Would this consider to be a good deal:
    MSRP: $41560
    Cap Cost $35500
$1k down, $406/month including Tax in Orange County, Cali,
    10k/year, 36 months.

Using your MSRP and cap cost, along with the 36/10 residual of 62% and the (RWD) MF of .00118, I get a pre-tax payment of $343/mo. Assuming 9% tax takes the payment to $373.49/mo.

Dealer may either be marking up the MF on you or there are some fees being slipped into the cap cost that accounts for the difference.

We've heard that with Mercedes, money factor reductions for MSDs are only taken from the standard money factor, which is much higher. That negates any advantage on a model that already has a subvented money factor (like this one).

So I can confirm that MSD's are available on the C300, this is a new MB policy. My dealer called MB corporate while I was in his office to confirm as even he was not aware of this being the new policy. I just put down 10 deposits to reduce the money factor to .00048 . You can even use auto pay to reduce it further.

I was able to get about 20% off on a demo with the MSD, car had sticker of 48745 and payment is $375 a month

that is a nice change of policy which should benefit many people who are considering a Mercedes

Signed a lease today on a C-300 Sedan, 3 years, 10k miles. MSRP was $46,225. Plus the three year service plan for $1075. I put $1,500, which included the first months payment. MF was .00188 and residual was 63% (59% with a 4% "bump".) Payments are $451 per month. How did I do?

Use the pricing tools at the top of the page (make / model / year) to help you set a target price. And I would recommend that you read back through the last page or two of this discussion to see what others have been able to negotiate.
