This forum is ridiculously helpful, especially for a lease newbie like me. Thank you!

Here's the offer I got last night from a dealer in the SF Bay Area:

    MSRP (w delivery): 49,030
    Cap Cost: 43,000
    Down payment: 0
    MF: 0.00108
    Residual: 63% (7,500 miles/36 months)

Monthly payment: $458 (before tax) and $1,500 drive off (he said this included the first month's payment + fees)

What do you guys think? Is this good, or should I try to get that cap cost down?

    Thank you!

My guess is the net cap cost is higher than the one you have. With the numbers you've provided, I get a payment of $390/mo before tax, not $458.

Find out what fees and taxes have been added in.

Can anyone post the Residual and MF for August on C300 & C400 sport 10k miles, 36 months please

    .00118 (RWD) or .00119 (4Matic) for C300
    Standard MF (.00180-.00220) for C400

    36/10 residuals are 62% for C300 or 60% for C400

There may be different manufacturer incentives in the Los Angeles market but my guess is that you should be able to get close to the same discount in Seattle. With a MSRP higher than $43,500 the discount should get larger because of more profit. The dealers need to net out a certain amount of money on each car, so it doesn't matter what the MSRP is just so they make the net profit on each vehicle..

I just got an offer on a 2015 C300 Sport and wanted to make sure I am getting a good deal.
    RV 63%
    MF .00108 with autopay
    MSRP $48225
Cap Cost reduction by dealer $7000
    trade in negative equity $1182.70
    doc fee $599.50
    title and license $121.50
    Navigation add on $600.00
    Downpayment of $795.00
Payment total of $469.00 plus tax

I have an e class now and can just wait 2 months to eliminate the negative equity but by that time with only 2016 inventory I am scared I wont have as much wiggle room on the car and still end up with a worse payment.

Also this is in the South Florida area if that makes a difference in the deal.

Where can I get the information on the MF and residual on 2015 C300 4matic for 36/12000, 36/15000, 36/18000? How about 24/18000?

How long is the bumper to bumper warranty? I'm likely to put on 18000 a year (but I have a second car; I can drive the other one if I don't want to put too much mileage on it), so I want to stay covered by the warranty during my lease term.

Also, will getting the 2016 model be a smarter financial decision? Since it's newer, I suppose it will have higher residual than the 2015 model? But, on the other hand, the price is harder to negotiate?

Another question is about credit score. I don't have a high credit score. It's not that my credit is bad-- it's just it never occurred to me that building credit is important. So, I just recently applied my first credit card few months ago. But I've been paying the bill on time. Is it possible for me to get someone with good credit score to co-sign the lease with me in order to get good MF?

    Thanks!

    Thanks for your reply!

The C300's MSRP with the options that I desire is about $50,000. I've done some online quotes (the certificate/guaranteed saving thing), the best discount I could find is about $5,000 off MSRP. So, I'll actually be thrilled to get $7,000 discount off MSRP, but the more the better. Could you fill me in with some good negotiation strategies? My plan is to just call all the dealers nearby and ask them to offer their best deal, and take the best deal to ask others to beat. Then repeat for couple times.

I'm actually also considering to buy cars in LA, and have them ship the car here if the price is much lower there. Do you recommend Simonson in Santa Monica and MB of Encino in Encino?

I'll start calling next week, and will be posting my deal here.

36/10 lease numbers for the C300W4 are .00119 and 62%, so your MF is marked up on you.

Yes, the cap cost should start at $45,115 if he is offering you a $5000 discount .. but, there may be other fees being added in (bank fee, dealer fee, etc.). Ask them for the net cap cost.

Using the discounted cap cost and the base MF, I get a payment of $510/mo with 6% tax added in.

Seems to be room to negotiate.

I would wait the two months until your current lease is up - $1200 works out to about $33/mo extra on your new lease payment.

    .00119 and 59% for 36/15. Add 2% for 12,000 miles per year.

    24/15 residual is 65%.

Extra miles are charged up front at a rate of .10-.25 per mile.

Your thoughts about the 2016 are correct - the 36/15 residual is 60% but the MF is .00152, so it's a bit of a wash. You'll get a better deal on a 2015 at the moment.

Yes, a co-signer will help you get the best MF. You should pull your credit score so you know where you stand before going to the dealer.

MF is marked up on you - base is .00118. That would save about $16/mo on the payment.

But, will the dealer be willing to give you such a big discount from sticker if you ask for the base MF?

Drive off includes state fees and the MB Bank fee as well as the first payment.

Actually because of the info from this forum, found a dealer 30 miles away from me, but beat that deal:

    MSRP $50,085
$1500 down (includes registration, first month payment, etc)
    36 months
    10k miles a year
    $436.36

This beat my previous deal by $400 off the Drive off and about $13.53 from the monthly payment

If you put all these numbers into a lease calculator, the payment is exactly what you get.

Thats so much car for this payment....

Is anyone is interested maybe we can get a couple from them and all get even better deals. Let me know if anyone is interested

Yes this is a 36month 7500 mile lease. in you experience do you think the dealer can still be this aggressive on a 2016 two months from now?

My fear was getting a worse more expensive deal later if they didn't have as high a discount in the future.

Your original post said 2015; this post says 2016. Which is it?

The downside to waiting is that there may not be as many 2015's on the lot in 2 months. Deals should be just as good then as now; selection may not be as great.

Can you help with this one, what do you calculate the monthly payment to be on this lease? I think my dealer is trying to sneak in some fees.

    36/7500
    MSRP: 49400
    Selling price: 42711
    MF: .00108
    Residual: 63%

Also, what's the cost of the two year pre-paid maintenance plan?

    Thank you!

    $401/mo. with those numbers.

Don't have cost info on the service plan.

I just got an offer on a 2015 C300 Sport and wanted to make sure I am getting a good deal. RV 63% MF .00108 with autopay MSRP $48225 Cap Cost reduction by dealer $7000 trade in negative equity $1182.70 doc fee $599.50 title and license $121.50 Navigation add on $600.00 Downpayment of $795.00 Payment total of $469.00 plus tax I have an e class now and can just wait 2 months to eliminate the negative equity but by that time with only 2016 inventory I am scared I wont have as much wiggle room on the car and still end up with a worse payment.
Is this for 36 months and 7500 miles per year? I would wait the two months until your current lease is up - $1200 works out to about $33/mo extra on your new lease payment.

Sorry yes it's a 2015. The dealer I am speaking with has only 8 2015s left so I would assume there wouldn't be any 2 months from now.

They are of course saying they won't be able to knock 7k off a 2016 in November and the residual and money factors on the 2016 aren't as good so I would pay more for the same car. They would say that of course to sell a car now versus risk me not coming back 2 months from now.

Dealer is correct, to a point. Nobody knows what the lease numbers will look like in November - could be better, could be worse. And, it may be too early in the year to know what kind of discounts would be available then.

But - if you like the 2015 and are comfortable with the deal, go for it. As noted, supply is limited and somebody is going to buy or lease those 8 cars.

Ok, I think I'm going to bite the bullet and do this. Do you guys think this is a good deal? Unfortunately it has been really hard to find a C300 with P1, Multimedia and Parktronic...so the dealer has been tough to work with...he knows I want parktronic. This is where we ended up:

    MSRP: 49,400
    Selling px: 41,609
    MF: 0.00108
    Residual: 62%
Drive off: $1k (includes 1st month payment and fees)

$460/month with tax (CA tax) and 2 year service plan (base price on that is $795)

I'm currently at this deal for a 2015 C300 sedan:

    MSRP: 50,505
    Selling price: $42,080
    Term 36/10k
    Acq 795$
    Base MF and 62% residual
    Drive-off: 925$

    $381.92 + tx

I think I can try and get an extra $500-600 off to shave some more from the payment.

    What do you guys think?

You are already at $8500 off sticker, but I suppose it can't hurt to ask for more - that would shave another $14-16/mo off your pre-tax payment.

Then I guess then I'll jump on it. I also got them to throw in the service plan and stay at a 497 payment. It will be 100 less than my current e class along with home delivery ( dealer is about 2hrs away).

Thank you you for all your help double checking all the numbers for me.

So I've negotiated that 8500$ off and said that's a good price and put in a credit app with the dealer.

What would be a good strategy to approach them now to ask for more off?

    I haven't signed anything yet.

May I ask which dealer this is? I'm getting quotes that are around $5000 off MSRP which are bad. I'm looking for C300 in the west coast. If you are, maybe you can ask the dealer to give you even better deal for referring me. Feel free to PM me.

What are the required fees for leasing? I'm starting to email dealers, and I'm getting some fees, that I don't know if I can negotiate off. Could you provide me all the fees that are required, so I know I can negotiate off the others?

    Thanks much

There is a $795 bank fee, a dealer fee, and probably some state mandated fees.

Hi, can you please figure the lease payment?
    MSRP = $43,175
    Selling price = $37,386
    36/10k
    $795 acq. Fee
    Pmt incl. 8.625% tax
Just 1st mo. And dmv fees out of pocket
Thanks in advance for your help!

    .00119 and 62%.

If I add the acq fee to the selling price, the payment works out to $428.31/mo.

I'm trying to decide between two offers and I am leaning to just walking. I've negotiated 13% off MSRP of $47,340 which equals $41,185 at one dealer with a base MF of 0.00118 and 13.9% off MSRP of $47,890 which equals $41,225 at another dealer with base MF of but am thinking about walking.

Both dealers are pushing an acquisition fee of $1,095 vs. MBF fee of $795. The additional fees are doc $168 doc fee, $101 plates, $95 for title, and $25 for electronic filing. There are no other fees.

A few questions, when thinking about this should I roll the acquisition fee into the cap cost that way if the car gets totaled I don't lose that money?

Additionally, one dealer is trying to roll the sales tax into the net cap cost while keeping the use tax outside of the cap cost (I am in Chicago where there is a 9.5% sales tax and an additional 9% use tax), is this correct?

13% off is pretty strong; dealer is making up for the large discount by marking up the acquisition fee.

You can add the acquisition fee to the cap cost if you want.

I wasn't aware of two separate taxes for leases in Chicago .. I thought only the sales tax applied.

There is, but it only applies to leases where the standard MF is being used, not a subvented one like you have.

I wish only the sales tax applied. The city of Chicago has an additional use tax.

Question, with the MSD. I just want to clarify that if the car is totaled I will get the MSDs back. If that is the case, I will push for a base MF.
