I paid $22,700 including ALL fees except for tax and license (amounts remitted to DMV and state of CA).
I bought my '04 EX-L AT PZEV sedan in Aug.,'03 at the introduction of the '04 model year, and paid $238 over invoice. That was a good deal at the time.
The invoice price of the '05 might be slightly higher--transportation cost rose from $460 to $515, too.
Your price of $22,300 for an '05 EX-L with AT seems low to me--let us know if you really can buy that car at close to that price after all fees are added.......Richard
One thing I haven't heard before nor seen mentioned on these boards is Honda Care. Have you heard about it. It's $1800 7yr/100,000 mi coverage but it's NOT like a typical extended warranty. If at the end of the coverage you do not use the coverage, you get your $1800 back in full. If the car needs any repair work during the coverage period, Honda covers the repairs for free.
I've been to several dealer's web sites here in Northern CA shopping for the car and I haven't seen the warranty for sale. Can you give me some dealer names?
Dealer required maintenance is not going to be a problem with me. This will be my wife's car and she has followed that schedule religiously with her past and present Accord and I don't expect her to treat this car any different.

I've seen responses appear more than once including this one. I know I didn't send it twice.

The "document fee" is pure revenue for the dealer and if it's high, it should be considered part of the negotiated price--buyers should try to reduce a high doc fee accordingly so the final price is fair.
In California there's a law that limits the doc fee to $45 plus a $5 tire disposal fee. So, we Californians pay $50 maximum added to the sale.
Some people in other states have reported doc fees of $300 or more and that's really part of the selling price and should be negotiated down to the extent possible.
License fees, taxes and anything else that the dealer must collect but remit to the state, DMV, or other agency should NOT be included because those kinds of added costs differ from state to state, the dealer doesn't benefit from them, and they aren't negotiable.
Similarly, trade-ins and dealer-installed extras should NOT be included in my opinion because Honda Accords are priced very clearly by model with no factory extras. If a trade-in is involved, the numbers aren't very useful, so only clean deals should guide people here. Same goes for financing arrangements which are separate--you're likely to get the best financing from your bank rather than letting the dealer handle it unless there's a low-rate promotion. In any event, it's a separate matter from buying the car.
Final, "out-the-door" prices can be useful ONLY for people who live in the same area and pay the same taxes, license, and other fees--"out-the-door" prices can be very misleading to others, however.
Prices should be reported in a consistent way so people living in different areas can compare their deals. Just my opinions here :-).......Richard
I bought a 2004 EX-L automatic with Navigation last week at Gillman Honda (in Shertz, TX., just outside San Antonio) for $23,000 plus TT&L.
Since used 2004's without Navigation (and 15-20K miles) are being advertised around that price, I thought it was a pretty good deal.
I think I got a great deal from Lanier Honda. I got my 2005 Accord EX Automatic for net amount ~21400$ cash.
That includes a 1000$ trade-in and 6% sales tax, title and all other fees.
The vehicle came with a few installed accesories which were included without extra charge:
Wheel locks,
Mud guards,
"Stripe" sticker on side bodies (is pretty simple and nice)
If you calculate the corresponding base price, I effectively got it for less than invoice. And note that I feel the 1000$ for my trade-in was not a bad deal at all.
The buying experience was generally pleasant, but I was well prepared. I would not have got that deal if I had not been so. There was a tendency to charge additional fees etc.. But the deal finally made it. The sales person was very nice. The guy from business who was making me sign the financial papers was not as nice. I would not advise trusting them outright with a deal, but there is certainly room for getting a great one!
Thanks
PS: I may not be replying to any questions. This is only FYI. Good luck!
I thought was thinking more in lines of what you said.
Thanks for the feedback.
Thanks
And what is the actual fee you paid?
What kind of car you traded in for?
I do have a old truck to get rid of.
Thanks in advance.
2005 Accord LX 4DR AT for $18,198 (including destination) plus tax title and license.
Am also being offered 1.9% financing for 60 months.
The MSRP is $27,215 and the Invoice is $24,539 which includes the $515 dset. charge.
I know that the title, transfer, conv. fees etc... are not included in this price but what a good price to offer.
Thanks
This will be the third accord that I'm buying from this dealer in the past year.

Once the deal is done I may post.
Apologies to the forum police.
Is this accurate? How low have you seen dealers willing to go for this model?
Thank you for your input.

What do you think of this deal.
Assuming yours is auto transmission, invoice price is $22,561.
I had asked for 24600 OTD including all fees, destination charge, taxes, registration and bogus(Documentation) fees.
Dealer was Autonation Honda in Fremont. I dealt with John Kurtz (Internet Sales), he made the buying experience easy, and if you are looking for a new Honda in the San Francisco bay area, his prices cannot be beat (this is my third accord in the last year from him), although I think his current pricing is $200 higher than what I got in at. Still a great deal and a great experience.
