Dealer quoted me $24,500 plus tax and title. We started at 25,659 window price on a EX-V6 Accord with leather. He didn't have the color my wife wanted and was willing to take another$300 off on a silver EX-V6 Accord he had in stock?Told him to call when he gets the color my wife wants. Anyone have any local pricing experience?OH yeah this is a four door sedan.Almost forgot to post.
Regarding the earlier posted messages on lease vs buy - I wanted to throw my 2 cents in. I leased my first car (mid December) on a EXV6. I have always either paid cash or borrowed money to purchase my cars. From the postings I have read - I could get a better deal today than a month ago. Anyhow - I paid $24,500 with the $500 add for the rear spoiler. That price plus tax equated to $380/month lease payment. Had I purchased the car through a loan my payment would have been approx. $447/mo or a $67/mo difference from my lease payment or $2412 diff for the 36 mo lease, even with the 3.49% promo rates. I only had to pay $475 down and I got the keys to drive this bad boy home - silver/black leather. Like w/a loan, I would have had to pay sales tax which would have been $1,722. With the lease - the tax was rolled into the payment and only factored against the difference on todays value versus the expected value at the end of the lease. I love the car and I question myself on how I will feel giving the car back in 36 months. But, fortunately the Accords are not budget breakers and I can always buy/lease another one if I so choose. Or, maybe if I get that promotion, I will lease the 330i after the Accord lease is up. Yes, I love Honda - but leases open up many other options that will fit my budget. What I do know - is that in 3 years, I will get another new car. . and as a car buff, that's exciting!! As far as I'm concerned - leases are a good option for a car nut that will not keep a car for more than 3 to 4 years! Can I afford more than the Honda Accord EXV6 - yes, but why spend more when you can have this awesome car to have fun in and drive back and forth to work! I looked at the 330i and the G35 sedan - but could not justify spending the extra dollars (many of them)- the Accord met and exceeded my expectations - so, why spend more when you can satisfy your sweet tooth for $10k to $15k less? On top of that - drive off the lot for $475 with a low $380 monthly payment to follow?
I bought my LX 4cy manual exactly one month ago from Honda World Downey. Got mine at $17200 plus tax and license and 3.49% finance. The color, tafta white. Great internet sales, see Carlos, very professional. I imagine you could get a little better deal now.
What is the best price for a 2003 Accord EX automatic with leather in the Cincinnati area (southeast Ohio)? I have requested and received several internet quotes, but they don't seem to be anywhere close to what other people are getting around the country - especially in the Bay area.
I agree with you that the new Accord offers many nice features and amentites for $10K less than many entry-Lux sedans. I was considering an ES300, but for $10K less the Accord offers a much quicker engine and smoother transmission, plus a pretty nice interior. The Accord's interior doesn't quite match a Lexus, but for the money, the Accord is one nice package indeed.
Anyone recently purchase an Accord in the West Palm Beach Florida area? My cousin is looking to get an EX Coupe 5 speed and was curious as to what they were going for. Thanks.
Hi, everyone. Wondering about any good deals for a '03 Accord EX-L Manual and/or '03 Accord EX-V6 in the MA, RI area... What is fair to expect in terms of prices? I would hate to be ripped off, since I don't have much experience in dealing with car salespeople at dealerships. Thanks.
Hello, I am in the process of purchasing a 2003 NightHawk Black 4dr Honda Accord Sedan (EX-V6) with the following options: hood deflector, rear mud guards, tinted glass, chrome exhaust tips, and wheel locks. In Canada the MSRP is about $33,500 plus air/tire tax, documentation, and G.S.T. Therefore, the total price would be around $36,833.52. I have spoken to several dealers and believe I can buy it for around $34,000-34,500. Is this a good deal? I need some help from other Canadians who have purchased this vehicle. I plan to purchase this car in two weeks. Any help is appreciated.
MSRP on accord ex-v6 sedan is 33,350 in Canada. This equates to 21,797 US Dollars. That's $4500 less than US prices. Am I missing something here. I thought things in Canada were supposed to cost more. How much money is Honda making on US cars to sell so low in Canada. Also why don't people in bordertowns like Detroit and Buffalo just buy in Canada or is there some sort of tax.
Yes, the price for a 2003 Honda Accord Sedan (EX-V6)is 33,500 CAD plus documentation and various taxes. This equates to $21,947.09 USD. To verify this simply goto http://www.honda.ca (Honda Canada). However, you must keep in mind that this price is reflective of the Canadian economy, the strength of our dollar, and other regional disparities. For example if I take the price of the same Honda Accord from http://www.honda.com (Honda America) it is $25,800 which equates to $39,384.74. For that much money you can by an entry-level luxury car in Canada.
Just bought a Redondo red 4 dr Ex-v6 for 24,300 out the door includes Tax,Tag and options like Auto dimming Mirror and Splash guards.Accord is super smooth !!.
I need some opinions...Here's the deal: I'm leasing a 2002 Acura RSX (Auto, Leather). According to some discussions I've read, I have one of the most sought after combinations: Eternal Blue Pearl w/ Leather and Automatic. I leased my car in 09/2001, before any of the awesome low interest rates came out. Had the great interest rates been available then, I'd have bought my car. My car is in great condition, other than it needs a wash due to our bad weather.
Anyways, I love the Accord Coupe V-6 Automatic. As of January 25, the payoff figure for my RSX is $19,648, which is good until February 4. According to the NADA website, my car's average trade-in is $18,175. Invoice for the Accord I like is $23,764.
1. Does Honda have that great 3.49% financing going on? If so, when does it expire? 2. Is it reasonable to ask for invoice? The Honda dealer gets his holdback & other incentives, plus they'd have a great car for resale. 3. Are there any recommended Pittsburgh dealers? I don't want gimmicks, like "dealer prep", etc.
Basically, if I could get a good deal on my RSX & a great price on the Accord, I'd jump on it. I love my RSX, don't get me wrong. I just want to take advantage of any deals out there.
- Any input would be greatly valued. Thanks in advance!!
mbfjack, Look for a response in this discussion from about a week ago. Someone got right around invoice price (maybe below?!?) at Bernardi Honda in Natick using the 'internet' sales manager. Some posts on here have indicated that you can get right around invoice price in certain markets and the Boston area keeps coming up as one of the best. As for the V6 Auto or the 5 spd manual, both were reviewed recently in Road & Track, and Car and Driver respectively and both were top picks among peers. I was surprised to see that the 4 cyl was still almost as fast 0-60 (7.5 secs) as the 6 cyl. (7.3 secs). Good luck and post what you find!
Are you sure you are reading the right numbers, because those numbers seem absolutely ridiculous. A 4 cycliner that makes 160 horsepower making a 0-60 run of 7.5 and a 6 cyclinder 240 horsepower making the same run in only 7.3. After a bit of research , the 2003 Accord, on many websites runs well below 7.3, I have seen results around 6.8 to 7.0. C&D also tested a time of 7.0 so I have not a clue of where you received the 7.3. As for the 4 cyclinder it will be lucky to crack 7.5 at best.
mikek37, I'm sure I'm reading the right numbers, I've got the magazines right here. Look in Road & Track, Feb 2003 issue on pg 77. I did say they were different transmissions (4 cyl manual, 6 cyl auto) and different tests (Car & Driver, Road & Track). The point was to mbfjack who seemed price conscious. I was trying to say that the 4 cyl is still pretty quick so if you want to save $, take a good look at the 4 cyl w/manual.
dmbst68, Invoice is very reasonable for an accord, don't let the car salesman make you think otherwise here or at the dealership. When you offer invoice, most dealers act shocked or insulted, who cares, it just a game to make you feel guilty. I've seen it a couple of times used on other people and myself at car dealerships. It makes you feel bad and want to offer more. Don't, you're the customer, you get insulted that others are getting invoince but they won't give it to you. I would say $300 over invoice at the most as long as you're not buying extras at high prices to pad the dealers pockets.
The 3.49 ended Jan 2nd, don't know if that one will ever come back. Best you can get right now just from the web is 4.49 at penfed.org or peoplesfirst etc.
"I could certainly give you a great deal on the Accord but I think the problem would be your lease. We could not give you the $19,000+ that you would need to get out of it. Kelley shows it at $15,300 in "good" condition. Also, a lease cannot be traded so the car could not be purchased outright without a sizeable loss. That is not unusual for a lease early term."
- Is this dealer correct? I thought buying the lease from me for the blue book value was the same as if they were buying someone's personally owned vehicle.
Any opinions out there? Should I just give up or pursue my original idea? (see post #1649)
I am looking at purchasing a 2003 Honda Accord Coupe EX-V6 with the automatic, silver exterior/ black interior.
I got a quote today for invoice($23765) through the internet department. I am adding the rear spoiler and the auto dimming mirror, whose prices are MSRP(yeah, I know) for an extra $852 installed. Total is $24617 + TTL.
I am going to act on this by tomorrow and would appreciate hearing some feedback from the group. Anything I might watch out for dealing with the internet department? Perhaps holding off on the accessories. Thanks in advance.
If you can't talk the dealer down, then check on labor rates/prices for the spoiler and mirror. It may be cheaper to order them online from handa-accessories.com or collegehillshonda.com and have your dealer install them. Both installations are fairly complex though and may be hard to get done for cheap. Mirror requires removing a lot of the interior=not fun to do yourself. The spoiler involves drilling=even less fun.
Anybody know if an American can buy a new Accord in Canada and bring it back across the border? Or does American Honda Motor Co expressly prohibit this? I live in Seattle, so the border is not too far. The dealers in my area do not seem to be too competitive on price or selection.
When you're leasing, the car after payments is not yours to sell or keep, so when trying to get out of a lease, you're trying to sell someone elses car. There are usually tons of penalty's to break a lease and the lease company would have to agree on it. It would not be financially sound to get rid of your lease vehicle. Just ride it out for the remainding years, unless you got money to burn.
I looked into buying a car in Canada but was told they can't/won't sell me a new car but would sell me a used car.I'm looking around in the Auburn-Seattle area too,and the price's they tell me are really really close between some of the dealer's.Fluke or just an arrangement between dealer's. I wonder. With the economy so down around here one would think price's should come down more than what they say is a "fair" price.
A lease is similar to a loan. Each month you make a payment, the "payoff" goes down a certain amount. It works out so that at the end of your lease, the "payoff" is exactly what the car is projected to be worth.
The problem is, most of the car's depreciation occurs in the first year. If you look at Edmunds "True cost to own" for your car, you'll see that over three years, it depreciates a total of $6110. However, $4192 of that happens the first year (actually, the moment you drive it off the lot). If you've only paid into the lease for 6 months, you are severely upside-down. You're gonna need to come up with at least $3000 to get out of your lease. That's the difference between what the car is worth and the payoff.
I'd recommend hanging on to the RSX for at least two years. If you want to get out of it at that point, you'll probally only have to come up with $1,000 to get out of it.
And it's not like you're saddled with a bad car, either.....
PA insurance is generally cheaper but it depends where you moved from in NY and where in PA you're moving. I moved form long Island to PA and my insurance was cut in half. If you move from upstate NY to the city of Philadelphia you probably would see an increase. The best thing to do is get a quote.
In crv16's example, it would cost you $3000 to get out now, or $1000 in 2 years, plus $5000 in lease payments. If you're getting out to BUY a car, then in 2 years (out of 5) you will have paid off about 1/3 of the car... just something to consider. (Larger payments though) In the long run you may come out better. Most financial analysts say not to count on "equity" in a car, but you'll have trade value after you pay it off--better than a lease.
The problem I see in your case is that you may want something else in 1-2 years... if so, you may be the type of person that short leases are ideal for.
paul176 Jan 28, 2003 11:40pm Hi, Paul. got yr new car, I am also interested in a V4 LX, do u know more website in canada discussing price of the car. thx
I got my LX 4cy at Honda World Downey last December also. At that time, they had the best price out of about 5 dealers. For me, this particular dealer was one of the nicest dealer I have seen.
I spend a lot of time in the Seattle area and I am interested in what the deals are there also.
I have been shopping an EX 4cyl auto in Portland, OR and the latest quotes I have are $400-$600 over invoice.
The internet reps, that I have dealt with, always start with some quote that is around $600-1000 under MSRP to see if they have a Tunafish on the line. Once you say that isn't good enough and you want quote based upon actual cost+ quote ((invoice - hold back) + $$) they start ignoring you for a while to see if they can get you into thinking that you are crazy to ask for such a low price. After a week of saying they can't sell the car for invoice they start getting closer to invoice. The game remains the same. It is just played over the phone and via email.
There are lots of Accords like I am looking for on all the dealer's lots. So I think I will be seeing invoice quotes after another week of playing the game?
The problem you will run into buying a honda in canada is with US Customs at the border. Cars built for the canadian market do not meet the requirements of (DOT) Dept of transportation in the US. One example speedo is in kilometers not mph. You would have to make all the neccessary changes to make it a us model. After the expense involved it would be cheaper to buy it in the US.
I think the best negotiations are accomplished in person. Most internet sales people are under the impression that whatever price they give you over the phone or by e-mail will be taken to another dealer in an attempt to beat their price. You must remember that most dealerships mottos go something like this "The most important customer is the one that is buying today".
I just put a deposit on a '98 Accord EX in nothern MA...purchase price $9950 + $970 warranty (3/36K bumper to bumper). The car has 65K miles and is in pristine condition - the original owner purchased it at the end of a lease, then traded it in for a Volvo wagon when his family grew.
There are deals to be had if you're willing to brave the cold weather!!
I have negotiated a price of $34,300 all inclusive (options+taxes+G.S.T.+Documentation) for the 2003 Honda Accord EX-V6. Do you think it's a good price? As for other web sites regarding pricing for 2003 Honda Accord Sedans I highly recommend http://www.canada.com. Go to the driving section. They have a section where you can request quotes from several dealers within your area.
I just got my new silver EXLV6 for $350.95/36mos/15k plus $263(fees billing process etc..a little high)with residual $15493 and price of car was 101 below invoice. I did a quick quote from their website(ROEBUCK Honda Birmingham, AL). Hope that was reasonable price.
Hello. Just bought '03 Accord EX 4 cyl 5 speed (desert mist) last friday and had a very pleasant experience with www.andersondirect.com. Price incl. destination charge = $19,255 Also matched extended warranty price from www.hondawarranty.com = $715 for 6 years/75,000. I'm VERY pleased with a car!
why are the honda dealers giving such good deals on the accord?? lack of demand or over-supply?? is the car not as "hot" as people thought it would be? cant decide on an 03 maxima or a ex-v6 accord-any thoughts? thanks
1) Honda's incentives on the leftover 2002 Accords pulled a lot of people into the market early. Meaning they might have waited until this year to buy, but the incentives last fall were so good that they bought then.
2) New redesign is not very good looking. I'm a died-in-the-wool Honda bigot, and the new Accord still hasn't really grown on me yet. Many people consider appearance over all other aspects.
3) Competition is better than ever. There isn't the gulf that once existed between the Accord and it's competition. The new Camry, 6 and Altima are all very good cars. The previous generations of these competitors were so-so.
4) The economy.
5) People are abandoning sedans for SUV's.
6) The used car market is in the tank. I'd probally be trading in my 2001 Accord for a new one if it was worth more. However, the trade-in value for my car (EX Sedan, 5 spd, 47k) is only $10,600, according to KBB. That's a $8,400 depreciation in 24 months.
Located in Brooklyn NY Found a brand new 2002 Accord 4DR EX-L at local dealer. 4cyl/5spd VTEC engine with, I believe, all options included.
Can purchase for $18,000, plus tax and registration.
Does this sound like a good deal for this "left-over, over a year old" model?
I currently have a 4cyl/5spd 1992 Acura Integra which has been a great car (only 80,000 miles on it). Has this 2002 Accord been a good car, will I like this car?
Most appreciative for any quick advice as I need to decided real soon before it's gone.

On the carsdirect site, they show an option of a "partial zero emission vehicle." Is this something that's required in California?
Thanks
Bob Anderson
A number of people have stated that their car was built on a certain date. Where do you find this information?
Thanks
