Hi there, I need the the residual and MF for a 2015 SX-L (Limited) for New Jersey, 12k and 15k miles per year. 24 Months and 36 Months. The car I am looking at stickers at $36,655, if I read correctly the "lease cash" incentive, then I would get $5,500 off any negotiated price from $36,655, right?? or it would be correct to calculate my cap cost at $36,655 minus $5,500 ($31,155). I am trying to see what type of total discount off the MRSP I can get including any incentives.

If anyone have recently leased a SXL in the Tri Area please chime in as well with what type of deal you got :>))

.00103 MF and 54% residual for 30mo, 12K/yr. $5500 lease cash
.00004 MF and 51% residual for 36mo, 12K/yr. $3500 lease cash.

The lease cash is in addition to any dealer discount, though when negotiating, they are likely already including it in their offer.

Thanks K! for the info, what is the residual for 15k/yr? 36 months. One dealer indicated 49%, is that correct? This is for the 2015 Optima SXL.

Just leased a 2015 Optima SXL for $325.00 a month for 42 mos/12k yr in FL.
I have Teir 1 credit, so the MF was .00023 and residual was 50%
I qualified for $800 military and grad incentives and $3,500 lease cash
plus I had $1,300 trade allowance.

The only other dealer that came close wanted $393/month for 30 month lease
MF was .00121 and the residual was 54%
Offered $1k for trade and $5,500 lease cash.

Kia has a different program for CT, NY and NJ. We don't have that program, but I'll give you the next best one, which may or may not be the same. (I think it's likely to be the same or very similar).

Using the base MF of .00082 and the 24/15 residual of 56%, I get a pre-tax payment of $336.77. My guess is that there is more cap cost reduction over and above the $1800 and change (I assume that $4000 of the $5800 is the lease cash). $1800 over 24 months is $75/mo, which brings down the pre-tax payment to $261.xx. If your $260/mo includes tax, somethign doesn't quite add up.

Ask them for the net cap cost and how they get to that number.

Yes - the net cap cost is the selling price plus any fees / taxes that are added into the lease, minus any down payment.

If anything, it seems low (!).

Using the numbers exactly as you've provided them, I get $413.74. If I change the MF to .00004 (4 zeros), the payment drops to $395.30. So, looks pretty good from where I'm sitting.

Hello - I'm in NY, too, and trying to confirm MKRV's numbers from the previous post. My '12 Optima SX, which is leased through KMF, comes off lease in April so I can wait a month or two, if needed. [I am also considering a '14 Cadenza SX Limited if I seem familiar.] What are the numbers for the '15 Optima SXL? I am looking for around 36 months, 12K/yr since that is the minimum Kia offers and will travel for a good deal.

MKRV - how did you come to a rebate of $3500 plus $1045 and was that deducted from the cap cost?

The $3,500 in rebates/incentives is what's currently available through Kia. You can find it on this site by searching for your model.

My dealer is saying he'll up the rebate to $4k (in addition to $1,045 off), to get me into this car.
His final offer is $354/mo, $2,563 drive-off.

This dealer quoted .00007 MF and with $5k+ in discounts/rebates, that's how he got to $354/mo.

thank you, too, Michaell. so the $4000 dealer cash, is that separate from the $1500 Kia Optima Customer Cash and the loyalty, if available? i know that there is always money from the manufacturer to the dealer that we do our best to get, so i am confused as to which is which.

also, please correct me if i'm wrong, but the best way to calculate a lease is to negotiate selling price, which is as close to dealer invoice as you can get, minus all rebates/incentives/discounts to get to the cap cost, isn't it? or, should rebates/incentives/discounts be considered a down payment? does it matter?

i try to put down as little as possible [maybe DMV fees upfront] and work everything else in to the monthly lease payment to make the dealer to dealer price easier to keep negotiate and keep track of as i shop.

i am finding this really helpful [scary since i have leased like a dozen cars already] and i really appreciate all of your help and input.

The lease cash is factory to dealer; the dealer can choose to pass it along to the consumer. You, of course, want it all.

Yes, negotiate your best selling price then subtract any available incentive money from it. Alternatively, you can use some of that lease cash to cover your up front costs such as acquisition fee, title/license/tags, etc.
