Thanks for taking the time to answer - I really appreciate it. Do you have any idea on the potential range of discounts off MSRP? I know folks buying the C300 have seen discounts as high as 17+%. Thank you.

Not really... you might read back through the E-Class lease questions discussion, though I doubt there is a lot of experience with the E400.

No 27 month program for the wagon - only the sedan.

36/10 numbers are standard MF (.00180 to .00220) and 62%. Add 1% for 7500 miles per year.

Based on the following information, what should I anticipate for my monthly lease payment? I'm in Massachusetts and looking to lease an E400 sedan: -

Lease Term: 36/39 months, 10,000 miles
    MSRP: $75,010
    Negotiated price: $63,861
    Residual: $43,656

No trade-in, no cash downpayment. Massachusetts sales tax rate is 6.25%.

What is the applicable money factor at the moment? I have a stellar credit rating.

The preliminary quote that I received stated a base (pre-tax) monthly payment of $870, which seems high.

Also, any advice regarding inception fees that I should expect to have to pay? Are there any ballpark figures for these fees? The quote mentioned a document fee of $295, an acquisition fee of $1,095, "Fees and Ins (Upfront)" of $132.50, and "Upfront taxes" of $68.44.

    Thanks.

36/10 numbers are 62% and standard MF (.00180-.00210). If I use .00200 as the MF, I get a pre-tax payment of $703/mo. Add 6.25% tax and the payment is $747.

The acquisition fee is marked up the maximum - it should be $795. Dealer can also mark up the MF for extra profit as well.

Lots of room to do better on this deal.

    Michaell,

Thank you so much for your feedback. I went back to the dealer this evening and restarted negotiations for a lease (we discussed purchase options yesterday). Armed with your information, I was able to get what I felt was a much better deal.

The dealer acknowledged the 62% residual straight away, but baulked at the money factor, which I had simply quoted as 0.0018, assuming that I could get the best rate. He stated that that number applies to the E350, but certainly not the E400. After quite a bit of back and forth - during which it got slightly heated! - we arrived slightly under the lease price that I calculated using a MF of 0.0022 (the finance guy told me that the standard rate for the E400 was 0.0023 and he acknowledged that he had been marking up the money factor before he adjusted it down to that rate. Anyway, the final monthly price came to $781, which rose to $805 when I rolled in prepaid maintenance (discounted from ~$1,150 to $862).

I wasn't able to get him to budge on any of the fees, including the disposition fee or the acquisition fee of $1,095, which I was told was standard for that dealership. I paid the fees up front rather than rolling them into the cost of the lease, but could have gone either way. I'm sure that they made their profit, which I certainly don't resent, but I came away feeling that they wouldn't have closed the deal for much less.

Again, thank you for your help!

    James.

Hi. Do you have the May residual and money factor (including autopay discount) for a 15k mile per year lease in New York on a 2015 E350 4MATIC Sport at 27 months? I believe 27 months is the best program, but if there is a better program, please let me know. Also, what incentives are available this month? Thanks.

Ouch. Though, to be fair, the MF on the E400 sedan is probably .00180; I would confirm that they aren't quoting that to you by accident.

Went back and discussed numbers some more - here is the deal, which I am inclined to like - but would love your opinion:

    2015 E-400 Coupe (4Matic)
    MSRP 65,265
    Sale Price 57,500
    36/15
First payment due at signing - nothing else
842 / month includes title fee / tax (I am in GA and pay 7% tax on the entire sales price of the car, not just the "used" amount)

The breakdown is something like this:

    Depreciation - 600
    Interest - 87
    Tax - 114
Acquisition 795, Govt fee? 41, Doc Fee 638 rolled into payment - 41

    Total - 842

Any thoughts? Thanks so much for all of your help!

If I take your selling price and add the 7% tax and the acquisition, gov't and doc fees to it, that comes to $62,999. Which, when added to your MSRP and the residual and MF I provided, works out to $844/mo. Pretty close to your dealer quote.

I'm sorry, but I'm a little confused. There is no single money factor but, rather, a range? What determines which money factor is used? Thanks.

We don't know what the "standard" money factor is, but believe it's in the range we've provided.

    Hi Michaell/Ky

What would the numbers be for a 2015 E350 4-Matic. 27 months/18k? .00059 for the MF and .00049 with autopay? Im thinking the residual is 61%? Im not sure, just guessing based on the 15k numbers.

Does MB have a 20k a year lease program, or is 18k the highest?

    Thanks!

.00057 MF for the 4Matic version (.00047 with Autopay) and a 27/15 residual of 63%.

Actually, there is a 20K option available from MB ... the residual would be 58%. No 18K residual adjustments that I see, however.

I have the following lease offer, which seems almost too good. What am I missing?

    E350 4Matic Sport Sedan
    27-month, 12,000 miles per year
    MSRP $63,580
    Payment $553 per month
    No money down
    Upfront payments:
    NY Sales Tax $1,180.07
    Bank fee $995
    Doc fee $75
    Inspection $10
    NY tire fee $12.50
    Registration transfer $65

Again -- am I missing something? Thanks for any and all comments!

Bank fee is marked up $200. What is the selling price?

I'm not sure -- that's really what I'm trying to figure out! Based on my calculations, the selling price is $55,0354, which is $4,181 below invoice. Seems too low to be true.

If you read back through the last page or two of this discussion, you should see what others have been able to negotiate as far as the selling price. Also, you can use the pricing tools at the top of the page (make / model / year) to help.

I've received two quotes regarding an E350 Sport for 36 months/10k miles. The first was 59% residual with .00059 MF and the other was 57% residual with .00109 MF. In both instances, I was shown a book with the residual %, so I'm confused why they wouldn't be the same, when I went to both dealers in May. Can the current terms be confirmed? Thanks

57% and .00059 for 36/10 is what I'm showing. Second dealer is marking up the MF. Don't know why dealer 1 has a different residual.

    Hi michael
I have an question about msd's.
Say I want to put msds on a 15 e350 where the MF is .00057...

    1. Can I put down msd's on a car with a promotional MF such as the e350, or would it have to be a standard mf?
    2. If I can do msds on the e350, I'll hit 0.0000 before I use up all 10 deposits. What is the lowest I can go, 0.00007?
    3. Lastly, do I start MSDS before or after using autopay? (0.00047). Are the MSDS combinable with autopay?

    Thanks!
