Dealer just quoted me. 00093 and 62% for 335i xdrive 12k 2015, how do I go about telling them that isn't what it should be? Just insist on .00085 and 63?

Yeah.. .that seems strange.
Just ask him to double check.. Base MF with 7 MSDs is .00085 and the 36mo, 12K/yr residual is definitely 63%. They can't alter that.
So, is the MF the same (in this case, for a 328i xdrive) for a new customer as for a returning customer? Or does BMWFS use a different MF for those two situations? Thanks!
Can you please let me know if this checks out / is a good deal for a 2015 328i loaner with 8k miles for a lease for 36 months / 12k miles.
MSRP: 44650 Selling price / cap cost: 35200 Residual: 28129.50 (63%) Adj residual: 26601.50 (I still need to check what their methodology is for adjusting this for the 8k miles) MF: 0.00134
Doc fee: 80 Acquisition fee: 925 License fee: 353 Tax: 8.75% (this is what it should be, haven't yet checked whether it is what they're using)
Due at signing: 1822.06 (I believe this is fees + first month payment) Monthly payment: 350.61
The October numbers for the 328xi 36/12 are .00134 and 63%.
Using your MSRP and selling price, I get a pre-tax payment of $388/mo. With max MSD, the pre-tax payment drops to $356/mo.
My guess is the $1500 credit is already accounted for in the selling price - but, confirm that with the dealer.
MD taxes the entire selling price - what is the tax rate? The $3000 trade equity may not be enough to cover the tax obligation and the up front fees (acquisition fee $925, dealer fee, license/tag costs).

No difference in MF for new or returning customers.

I'm within $1 of the dealer quote with your numbers, and assuming 8.75% tax rate.
The residual is adjusted down .20/mile, so it looks like there are 7640 miles on this car. But, the selling price is reduced as well to compensate.
Still need to work out the lease numbers but dealer is offering $40,900 on a 328i xdrive with an MSRP of $47,645. Should I take it or try to get something better?

$6700 off sticker is a pretty strong discount. How much more do you think there is for the dealer to give?
Something that was odd to me was a $2,400 charge for the additional miles. Shouldn't this be included in a lower residual value? Based on my numbers I am getting a horrible deal, what do you guys think?

1) MF is marked up from the base of .00134 2) The 6000 miles existing miles should reduce the residual by $1200 3) Is the lease actually 36mo, 18K/yr? Not sure where they get 62% residual. 36/15 is 61%. 4) Even at $0.15 or $0.20 per mile, it shouldn't be $2400 extra for 9000 miles (36/18 vs. 36/15) 5) That's not enough discount, considering the 6000 existing miles and the $1500 buildout cash on this model.

The tax rate is 6%. They had me come in just to tell me that my fleet benefit would not apply because the car in question was a special demo? It had 59 miles on it. The benefit gave me 1500 lease cash and a .00022 residual reduction. They also low balled me on my trade. They only wanted to give me 2200 when it has been appraised at 3000 before. I think they wanted me to leave because there was no effort made to keep me there. Maybe I missed something.
I might have confused things by looking at putting the 3000 down along with the 1500 lease cash.

"Special Demo" with only 59 miles on it? That's a new car, in my eyes.
Separate the two deals ... one for the new car, the other for the trade.
We don't recommend making any sort of cash down payment on a lease. Covering your up front costs, however, is to be expected.
There is already $1500 lease cash available - nothing to do with your fleet benefit. I would get a clear understanding from your fleet organization what benefits you get beyond the MF reduction.

BMW Milwaukee Concours seems to be quite shady with their calculations.
So these are the latest number for 36/15:
MSRP: 52,450 Discounted Price: 45,500 (450 lower) Residual Value: 62% Money Factor: .00174 (he could do .00134 he said but then he would increase selling price by $500) No $1,500 cash build out (he said this was already included in the discount of $6,500..right..)
His offer including tax (5.6%) = 592.33 a month + Initial cost first month $756.33
Based on this numbers I should be at $524.13. I walked him through all the calculations:
I told him whether he could explain the difference of almost $70 dollars a month and his answer was that he knows at what price they need to sell this car for and that they would sell it soon.. and that it would be better if we both would move on. In return I said to him that I know my calculations are correct and that yesterday at Lexus I had a 2 dollar difference between my calculations and the dealer's. They are hiding something in their calculation to make an extra profit ($68 * 36 = $2,448)

BMW Milwaukee Concours - not recommended!
Dealers will often lower the selling price to offset an increase of the MF. You, of course, want both the base MF and healthy discount from sticker.
It's entirely possible that the $6500 discount includes the $1500 incentive - without the incentive, that still represents 10% off sticker, which is pretty strong.
But ... the math should match, which leads me to believe there are extra charges in there somewhere. Get them to provide you the net cap cost - if it's different than the selling price, ask them to explain the difference.
And, reach out to other BMW dealers - only takes one to make a deal on your terms.
Hi, I've just agreed to a deal on the 3 i've been looking at. I think I did pretty well. What do you think?
2015 328i 12/36 MSRP 44710 Mileage adjust (due to it being a demo car): $140 RV 63%, 28027.30 Selling Price: 37749.7 Using all 7MSD's, MF= .00094 (yes, i know this is slightly inflated)
Down payment: $518 7 MSDs: $2800 1st mo payment 381.88 Total @ signing: $3700
Monthly payment 348.78 +9.5% tax = 381.88
Fees rolled into lease included $925 acq. and $180 dealer fees.
Reason I ended up with slightly inflated MF was that he really wouldn't move on this but did on the selling price a few times. Then my final go I was able to get them to throw in tint...which I think makes up for the MF mark up which I calculated at ~270...a good tint is more than that.

Looks like a solid deal .. dealers will often move on price rather than MF.
Thanks for checking in and sharing your deal with us! Enjoy the new BMW!
So I have been working the dealers for a new deal. Is this a good deal?
msrp is 47000 Sale price is 40858 including my fleet discount of 1500 Md tax rate is 6% 36/12000 He is offering 425 a month with 3000 due at signing. Sign and drive, no other fees.

As is, your numbers, when plugged into my calculator (.00134 MF and 63% RV), give a payment of $407/mo.
What does the $3000 cover? MD taxes the entire selling price, so that's almost $2500 right there.
Acquisition fee? Dealer fee? Tags and license costs? Where are those?
And, I disagree with the "sign and drive" nomenclature - to me, that indicates $0 out of pocket at lease inception. You're giving them $3000

This deal includes the acquisition fee and the dealer fees of 925 and 299.This would be added to the final selling price? The 3000 would go against taxes, dealer fee and first months payment?
Does this bring the deal into focus?
Thank you for your feedback. The discount on the msrp looks good to me. There is no juice on the mf so I am trying to figure out if I should go for it.
Picked up a 328i demo w/ 4500mi this past weekend
MSRP: 50350
Sell Price: 39188
MF: 0.00085 (w/ 7 MSD)
Paid all fees + MSD at drive off
36mo/10k
299.76/mo incl. 9% tax
Nice deal! Congrats and enjoy the new BMW.
Seems like a really good deal, even at 10k miles/yr. How much did you put down?
0 cap cost reduction paid 925 acquisition fee, dmv, first month, etc came out to around ~1700 + 2100 (MSD)=~3800 total drive off

I also get $500/mo with those numbers ... if you are comfortable with the selling price, and you are choosing not to use MSD to buy down the MF, then there is no reason not to pull the trigger.
Can't get below 10% AFTER the 1500 credit on any Massachusetts dealers, probably going to have to take my business elsewhere. Anyone have recommendations for Northeast dealers willing to negotiate?

No dealer recommendations, but it's possible that 2015 inventory is getting thin, which gives the advantage back to the dealer.
I am looking at leasing an ex-loaner BMW 328xi 2015 here in PA. The best offer I have had with the options listed below is $399.86/month with $2,228 at signing. Taxes included. I believe this is 9% here where I am. This is for 36 months, 10,000 miles. The current mileage on the car is only 7,000. The MSRP was listed at $51,500. Residual value is $31,800. The selling price was $44,494, but I got it down to $41,950. Is this a good offer? I have no idea what the money factor is. I have asked this question to the dealer. What else can I negotiate? I have excellent credit. What is the least money factor or rv value I should settle for? Should I try and get 12,000 miles at the same price?
Thanks in advance for reading and for your help.

I was just presented with a strange offer on a "new" 2015 335i xDrive. The dealer says that they have a customer who pays cash for a new car every year, then returns it. They say BMW treats it as a demo and will still lease it as new. 1462 miles, original MSRP 58950, fully loaded. They are asking 48975 and will do a standard lease on it which puts me around 399/mo before tax (.00085 mf/63% 36/12 I believe). I've never seen a lease offer on a used car before... is this worth looking into?

If it's been titled, it's not new.
We don't have any information on how BMW manages leases of used cars.

Awesome, thanks again for helping all of us wade through the (sometimes) bs we hear from dealers.

Just ask him to double check.. Base MF with 7 MSDs is .00085 and the 36mo, 12K/yr residual is definitely 63%. They can't alter that.

Mf=.00130

36/12000
Msrp 44150
Selling price = 38585
I have a bmw fleet benefit that gives me an additional rate reduction of .000022 and 1500 in lease cash to put against the cap cost
I also have a trade in estimated at 3000. I wanted this to go toward fees and taxes.
The dealer is willing to give me 325 a month with first month due at signing
Thanks!
Can you please let me know if this checks out / is a good deal for a 2015 328i loaner with 8k miles for a lease for 36 months / 12k miles.
MSRP: 44650
Selling price / cap cost: 35200
Residual: 28129.50 (63%)
Adj residual: 26601.50 (I still need to check what their methodology is for adjusting this for the 8k miles)
MF: 0.00134
Doc fee: 80
Acquisition fee: 925
License fee: 353
Tax: 8.75% (this is what it should be, haven't yet checked whether it is what they're using)
Due at signing: 1822.06 (I believe this is fees + first month payment)
Monthly payment: 350.61
Thank you.

The residual is adjusted down .20/mile, so it looks like there are 7640 miles on this car. But, the selling price is reduced as well to compensate.
Looks like a solid deal.

36/18 in Wisconsin:
MSRP: 52,450
Discounted Price: 45,950
Money Factor: 0.00174
Residual Value: 62%
Extra mileage charge: $2,400
Monthly payment including WI tax @5.6% = 644.16
Something that was odd to me was a $2,400 charge for the additional miles. Shouldn't this be included in a lower residual value? Based on my numbers I am getting a horrible deal, what do you guys think?
Thanks!
2) The 6000 miles existing miles should reduce the residual by $1200
3) Is the lease actually 36mo, 18K/yr? Not sure where they get 62% residual. 36/15 is 61%.
4) Even at $0.15 or $0.20 per mile, it shouldn't be $2400 extra for 9000 miles (36/18 vs. 36/15)
5) That's not enough discount, considering the 6000 existing miles and the $1500 buildout cash on this model.
I agree.. not a good deal and some of those numbers don't add up.

There is already $1500 lease cash available - nothing to do with your fleet benefit. I would get a clear understanding from your fleet organization what benefits you get beyond the MF reduction.

So these are the latest number for 36/15:
MSRP: 52,450
Discounted Price: 45,500 (450 lower)
Residual Value: 62%
Money Factor: .00174 (he could do .00134 he said but then he would increase selling price by $500)
No $1,500 cash build out (he said this was already included in the discount of $6,500..right..)
His offer including tax (5.6%) = 592.33 a month + Initial cost first month $756.33
Based on this numbers I should be at $524.13. I walked him through all the calculations:
Base payment 36 months (MSRP - Discounted Price / 36) = $360.58
Rent Charge (Capitalized Cost + Residual Value) * MF = $135.75
Tax ( Monthly Base Payment + Monthly Rent Charge) * 5.6% = $27.79
Total: $524.13
I told him whether he could explain the difference of almost $70 dollars a month and his answer was that he knows at what price they need to sell this car for and that they would sell it soon.. and that it would be better if we both would move on. In return I said to him that I know my calculations are correct and that yesterday at Lexus I had a 2 dollar difference between my calculations and the dealer's. They are hiding something in their calculation to make an extra profit ($68 * 36 = $2,448)
Am I missing something here?
BMW Milwaukee Concours - not recommended!

2015 328i
12/36
MSRP 44710
Mileage adjust (due to it being a demo car): $140
RV 63%, 28027.30
Selling Price: 37749.7
Using all 7MSD's, MF= .00094 (yes, i know this is slightly inflated)
Down payment: $518
7 MSDs: $2800
1st mo payment 381.88
Total @ signing: $3700
Monthly payment 348.78 +9.5% tax = 381.88
Fees rolled into lease included $925 acq. and $180 dealer fees.
Reason I ended up with slightly inflated MF was that he really wouldn't move on this but did on the selling price a few times. Then my final go I was able to get them to throw in tint...which I think makes up for the MF mark up which I calculated at ~270...a good tint is more than that.
Thoughts? Thanks for all your help.

msrp is 47000
Sale price is 40858 including my fleet discount of 1500
Md tax rate is 6%
36/12000
He is offering 425 a month with 3000 due at signing. Sign and drive, no other fees.
Thanks
Bob
What does the $3000 cover? MD taxes the entire selling price, so that's almost $2500 right there.
Acquisition fee? Dealer fee? Tags and license costs? Where are those?
And, I disagree with the "sign and drive" nomenclature - to me, that indicates $0 out of pocket at lease inception. You're giving them $3000

Does this bring the deal into focus?
Thank you for your feedback. The discount on the msrp looks good to me. There is no juice on the mf so I am trying to figure out if I should go for it.
paid 925 acquisition fee, dmv, first month, etc
came out to around ~1700 + 2100 (MSD)=~3800 total drive off
3 year, 12K miles per year
MSRP: $55,250
Selling: $47,777
Oct residual and MF: 63%, .00134
Down: $925 acquisition fee, $500 first monthly payment, $150 plates = $1,575
Monthly: $500 includes 6.25% Mass state tax
328i 36 month/10,000 miles per year and 36 month/12,000 miles per year
Seattle, WA
Thanks in advance!

I also get $500/mo with those numbers ... if you are comfortable with the selling price, and you are choosing not to use MSD to buy down the MF, then there is no reason not to pull the trigger.

Thanks!
