I would not have bought (booked for now:) a CRV without the Ivory color! It is a cool color for the summer. In fact, my choice of a beige colored vehicle was a second choice after the silver, alas the latter does not come with Ivory colored interior. Ivory seems more brighter than charcoal colored seats.
  • isellhondasisellhondas Member Posts: 20,342
Silver with beige interior??? Don't think so!

The ivory may be cooler but it shows EVERYTHING!

In 2002, white CRV's came with ivory interiors and the sales on these were dismal. The next year they changed to black and sales took off. In 2005, they decided to go back to ivory and sales tanked once again.

I have a yellow lab, which is why I chose leather ivory. Cleanup has been pretty easy.
  • yangdariyangdari Member Posts: 20
It is individual preference at the end of the day, however I feel that there are no decent exterior colors available with Ivory Interior. I am looking to buy Ivory inside, and the only exterior choices I have are beige (I am too young for that), green tea (will likely be unfashionable in 2-3 years), and black (you see everything on black).

Why don't they offer a "normal" exterior color like silver or blue with Ivory? It is available in Europe and Japan, but not in the US. This sucks...
  • sky23213sky23213 Member Posts: 300
I have it on my 05 SE and I love it, especially with the Sahara Sand exterior.
Yes, it takes some effort to keep it clean, but I'd do that anyway.

The ivory may be cooler but it shows EVERYTHING!

Well that makes whatever shows easier to see so it could be cleaned. ;)
    I hate dirty interiors.

Iam in the market for a 2007 CR-V EX-L With Navi. Based on my research during the last few days, Understood
that CR-V is going MSRP (The Max i could come up with is MSRP - $500) and Still Wait for a few weeks to
    actually get the car delivered.

    Here are my questions now..
(1). Do any of the NEW CR-V Owners feel that the low end torque is little less?? (I felt it when i was test
driving yesterday -- Propably because its a 4 Cyl Fuel Efficient SUV and we never owned a SUV before).
(2). I also felt that the engine noise was little more particularly when the CR-V starts accelarating?

Are (1) and (2) -- something that is expected from a Fuel Eff 4 Cyl SUV??

    Thanks in Advance..

I am getting the following deal on my new CR-V which I booked on Saturday.

    Sales Price: 23,359/-
    Splash Guard: 89/-
    Application Fee: 35/-

This is the lowest price I got out of the three dealers in Omaha. After reading the postings of others, I think it is a good deal for this new Royal Blue Pearl CR-V. Dealer promised to give the SUV by end of this month, and right now it is on the way between California and Nebraska.
I am also getting a 5% APR for 36months from a local credit union. Did any one able to get a better deal than this?
  • bmwguy23bmwguy23 Member Posts: 44
Save yourself $50 and buy/install the front splash guards yourself. You can get them online for like $31 and they take 5 minutes to install.
  • rajsamrajsam Member Posts: 5
Thanks for the info, but Honda listed price for splash guards in my area is $63. So it is another 25bucks for installation.
Any other accessories which are really useful?
  • crvme3crvme3 Member Posts: 140
rajsam, just as bmwguy23 said... look at the H&A honda site at the top of this forum they are selling direct to you... original honda mud gaurds for $31.00. I have also found the rear cargo area spill mat & cargo net to be useful items as well. H&A has these items in stock. GOOD LUCK :)

Put 'em on yourself. If you can use a screwdriver it's about the simplest thing that can be done.
  • cliffbcliffb Member Posts: 46
You'll need a short screwdriver to install mud guards. Rear floor cover is a must. The cargo tray is cool but doesn't come with the LX so I'm making one myself from plywood, long hinge and indoor/outdoor rug

    Hi everyone

I booked my car in December and received my Beige CRV Ex-L today. I paid $25,237 plus tax, title and license - for an out the door price of $27,300. I paid $600 over invoice or $1358 off MSRP. I went to the dealership at the appointed time and the sales person explained all the features etc. He was very polite and did say on the way out, I hope you are satisfied with the experience and in 2 weeks you will receive a survey. I was then ushered in to the business office. I paid cash and had no accessories or anything else. She did try to push hard for me to buy a protection package and then an extended warranty and tried the price is good only for today. I said no thank you a couple of times. She tried to convince me how much expenses would add up etc. Then she took away the brochures and I was fine with that. On the way out she gave them back saying now the price is good until next week. It was not a pleasant experience to be tried to pressured in to buying anything. Well if the survey covers the business office, that part sure would not rate too high.

I had a buyers remorse since a few days thinking was it really worth buying a brand new vehicle, maybe I should have bought an LX. Well that really ended when I drove back home. The vehicle felt just as nice as when I drove it during the test drive. I almost went in for the RAV4 but now feel the wait was well worth it. I bought my vehicle at Luther Hopkins Honda, which I would still rate as one of the best in twin cities for both price and overall buying experience (other than my business office experience)

I now plan to order all season mats etc from Bernardi honda parts.

The business manager was telling me that Honda care is backed by each dealership that sells it. So the on-line Saccuni Honda etc for around $800 for 120k would compare poorly with that sold by a larger dealership like Luther Honda which was selling it for like $1185. Any one knows how the Honda care extended warranty applies?
    thanks!

    Rah rah rah!

So will any car if you replace the parts that go bad.
  • crvme3crvme3 Member Posts: 140
nearmsp... That sounds like a great deal!. Your post did not mention if you got "navigation or AWD". I think you and I are in the running for the best deals so far at least from what I have read on these forums. I paid $24,650.00 for '07 CRV EXL FWD no navigation including wheel locks & mud gaurds, not including TTL of course. I know what you mean as far as the final closing part, that is always stressful. I hope you enjoy... ANYBODY ELSE CARE TO COMMENT ON A GOOD DEAL. :)
  • nearmspnearmsp Member Posts: 90
    My CRV was without navigation.
  • rkrk1rkrk1 Member Posts: 1
    Hi all,

Couple of days ago I bought 2007 CRV 4WD EX-L with Navigation (Color - Green Tea Metallic) for $26,500 + DST + TTL. Total price out the door was $29,448. I did not buy any accessories.

This is in central NJ, from David Michael Honda dealer.

    Here is my experience:

I contacted several dealers in this area through internet end of Dec, no one was ready to negotiate. At the most they were providing me $500 less than the Max retail price. I had written communication with David Micahel Honda dealer through internet early Jan. I asked if they can match the price I am looking for. They said they have the vehicle and they will match the price I am expecting, which is $26,500 + DST + TTL for this trim in Blue color. I went to the dealer on Jan 6th, only to find that they do not have the car. They said if I deposit $500 they will get a car for me for the same price in 7 days. I paid the deposit. However the car never came in 7 days. The sales person I was dealing with did not return my calls. I spoke to sales manager, and got the sales person changed. Also, I decided to change the color to Green tea after seeing one. I liked Green Tea color so much. Sales manager was fine with the change. No change in price. The other person he assinged was very nice, and he called me almost everyday. Kept me in loop on status of my vehicle. He gave approx wait period of one month. This sales person was giving me reliable and true information. I was happy with his service.

I got my vehicle on Feb 22nd. The vehicle is imported and entirely made in Japan.

I think since David Michael Honda Dealership in NJ is going through construction work, they are unable to keep high level of inventory. Hence they are ready to negotiate more than any other dealer in this area.

    Hope this helps.

    Good luck with your purchase!

I was quoted $24,957 + dest + TTL for an out the door price of $26,786 in North Carolina. This is for a EX-L 4WD no navigation with mud flaps and wheel locks.

    How does it look?
  • wavegrlwavegrl Member Posts: 27
I've got a quote from local dealership internet department for CRV EX-L FWD w/no navi for 24355 and the otd came to 25750. I have no idea what color it is or if it has any extras or is just a chassis with four wheels...should I pursue? I'm still smoking from my last dealership road rash ;) It's probably in Bora Bora and has been sold to four different people...
  • crvme3crvme3 Member Posts: 140
Based on what I have seen on this forum that is a great price. At $24,355.00 if this is the car you really what I would without a doubt persue it (got my $24,650.00 beat). Let us all know how you make out :)
  • spike69spike69 Member Posts: 10
I bought a CRV LX AWD Glacier Blue for 21,692 yesterday. This is the total price not including TTL. I bought the package from www.fightingchance.com and was very pleased with it. I think it would work much better on a vehicle not in such high demand though. I faxed 15 dealerships for quotes and received quotes from six of them.

    The best three quotes were
21,623 and available within three weeks.
21,600 and available within two weeks.
    21,692 and available now.
I tried to work a couple of the higher quotes down and they wouldn't budge. I decided for 92 dollars I would rather have the car now. I got to test it out in a snow storm on the way to work this morning and it handled beautifully. I'm sure I could have got closer to invoice on an EX because all the dealers in the area have many EXs on the lot. There are only a handful of LXs in the area on the lot.

After a wait of 9 days I received my CR-V EX 4WD, Royal Blue Pearl with black interior, day before yesterday. It has 3 miles on it. Here is what I paid for it...

    Sales price: 23,359.00
    Splash Guards: 89.00
Trade in: 4,200.00 (2001 Toyota Corolla)
    ----------------------------------
    net: 19,248.00
    Sales Tax@5.5:1,058.64
    ----------------------------------
    Final price: 20306.64
    ----------------------------------

It was the best price I got and I am highly satisified with the price. CR-V is like invoice + 500 and Trade in was really hot. I bought the Corolla for 5400 buck about 2.5 years back, now with additional 30,000 miles, damaged wind shield, and engine check on, I was able to trade in for 1200 bucks less than what I paid 2 years back. For me it looks like a hot deal.
Today we have a blizzard conditions with about 9 inches of snow so far here in Nebraska, and the 4 WD was awesome, I did not feel any skidding and the new CR-V was really great. I am enjoying it.

You can save a lot of $ on the LX but those base wheels are ugly and cheap looking...are most LX owners planning on swapping the wheels out at some point?
  • hopdevilhopdevil Member Posts: 7
Just took delivery of my CRV LX AWD Whistler Silver. Most dealers wouldn't go below $300 under MSRP. But I got a quote of $21,395 from Martin Honda (Suburban Philly). Scott Honda matched it and I felt more comfortable with them, so I bought at Scott. Very quick, pleasant experience. Ask for Noel, he was great.

    Base: $21,395
    Tax: $1283
    Doc Fee: $55
    Title & Reg: $70
    Online DMV Fee: $24
    ----------------------
    OTD: $22,830
  • beerloverbeerlover Member Posts: 20
    Hopdevil,
Is the destination charge figured into the base? If so, you got it for $1000 under msrp or $600 over invoice. MSRP is $22,395 (21800+595 dest charge) on the AWD LX CRV.

Hi, Spent last 3 weeks price shopping for a 2WD Honda CR-V EX-L With NAVI in the DFW Area.

The best i could come up was MSRP-$300(Of course no add-ons unless i wanted to).
I put in my deposit yesterday with a local dealer here to wait untill the march month end for delivery
for the specific colour i wanted to get.

Based on my reviews here on this forum/thread -- Looks like EX-L With NAVI are the ones closer to MSRP OR
Is it just the city iam in??

Also, if i wanted to add the following (out side the dealership)... How much iam looking at spending with installation
    Auto Dimming Mirror w/compass
    Parking Sensors
    IPOD Adapter
    Fog Lights

Thanks in advance for your inputs

I am in Utah and have purchased a Tea Green 07 CRV EX-L w/NAV for $29,784 OTD ($1000 off MSRP plus taxes & fees) from Willey Honda through their internet dept. How does that compare to others in the area? I am buying one simultaneously with my sister-in-law, and I thought buying 2 cars at the same time would have more mileage - pardon the pun - in getting me a good deal. Thoughts? :)
  • drtivoldrtivol Member Posts: 5
Got quotes and almost signed for the following three. Each included destination. So just add TTL to this quote:

    2WD LX : $21,145
    2WD EX : $22,345
    4WD EL-L with Navi: $27,500

Auto mirror - I paid $30 for a junked one out of Olds Bravada, which was recently recalled. I sent in the junked one and got a brand new one in the mail, all for $30. Installation is easy, just hook up the positive, negative and if you want to the reverse kill.

Parking sensors - you can get them from ebay, generic ones with a digital readout and the beeper for under $80. Follow Honda installation sheets, the holes are pre-marked on the inside of the bumper.

Ipod adaptor - the Honda specific adaptor lets you use the steering wheel radio controls to control the iPOD. Online parts dealers sell it for about $160. Installation is easy.

Fog lights - i got JDM knock offs for $80. Instllation is not too difficult. You remove the bumper and install them according to Honda OEM installation sheets, and they plug into the existiing wiring for the OEM fogs. No need to run a wire inside the cabin, it is all pre-wired from factory.

Bought it last week. Stockton Honda quoted $22,558.60 (dest. inc.). Car was not in stock, but every other dealer quoted MSRP. Agree we'd wait until it came in. It showed up 24 hours later. :) Dealers checked: Mistlin, Lodi, Tracy, Dublin, Fremont.
  • hopdevilhopdevil Member Posts: 7
Correct. I got it for $1000 under MSRP (which includes $595 destination) which I consider to be a bargain given the current market.
  • crvbbcrvbb Member Posts: 1
Since I have learned so much from this forum thought I would post our new purchase experience. Pick up is tomorrow. We are in eastern NC. Checked local dealer and they had the one we wanted and we even test drove. Wanted MSRP on any one, including ordering. Checked 5 or 6 dealers. Only one other dealer wanted MSRP and they did not have the one we wanted on their lot. The others were fair on pricing. Ended up buying from small dealer for $1,000 under MSRP (including $595 destination). Sent a email to local dealer about their attitude with MSRP pricing. The local sales guy did a great job with demo and I wanted to give my business locally. My good by email back to local was great job sales guy poor job sales mgr. MSRP ? No way.

Hey everyone, I'm looking to buy a Honda Crv this week and Im in the NYC/North Jersey area ,, Can anyone recommend a dealer within that area that they had a good experience with and can you please state the price you got your crv at. So far, Im considering going to paragon as the person I spoke to on the phone said that they're willing to match and beat any other Honda Dealer's price (I don't know if it has to be a local dealer or US, but if anyone also got a good price from a nearby state, can you please post your salesman and price). Thanks in advance,,and I appreciate all the advice on this forum!

Hey rkrk1, I saw your post and was wondering if you can email me the name of the sales rep that you dealt with and your first name, as I am interested in getting the same model as you without navigation and you got an awesome price. My email is rsmithh33@yahoo.com Thanks in advance!! :)
  • beerloverbeerlover Member Posts: 20
I agree, great deal. I'm from the area (just blocks form Victory) too so I will be seeking out this Noel soon. Thanks.
    Hopdevil,
Why is it do you think that you were able to get such a good price when most dealers aren't moving on the $500 below msrp floor? (My lowest has been $645 below msrp btw on 4wd ex). There is less demand the the LX then EX (which I would prefer)? It was the end of the month and the guy needed to get his #'s up?
I just ask because I think you did great job going from $300 below to $1000. You usually have to play a game o back and forth with multiple dealers to widdle down the quotes time and time again until you get into the reasonable zone.

Thanks for you input ahead of time.

Any idea on how to install radio controls onto LX steering wheel? (the only feature on EX that I miss)
  • beerloverbeerlover Member Posts: 20
What is the etiquette for quotes? Do you show your quote to "the other guy" to prove your really got xyz from dealer A for Dealer B to try to beat or match it? I was just thinking that if you show who gave you the quote then sales guy A might talk with Sales guy B.
  • crvme3crvme3 Member Posts: 140
IMO absolutely yes... show the salesperson your other quotes, in my view it sends home the message that you are a serious buyer looking for the best deal you can get. Let's not forget 90% of all sales people are paid by their performance & generating sales, in fact the entire sales dept from the top down have a vested interest in sales volume. The sales process internally is much more complex than many people believe. They all know what the store needs to make on each sale for each model (not necessarily what a vehicle sold for, most cases that's higher than what they needed) my point to all the rambling is I dont know of any salesperson who would not jump at the chance to take a customer away from a competitor regardless if it within the same brand of vehicle... All things are negotiable, "Salesperson A talks to Salesperson B" SO WHAT!! IMO should be better for you.
  • snoopy21snoopy21 Member Posts: 114
in my experience, though, that is EXACTLY why they don't give you really good written quotes; they know you'll just take whatever quote you get and go out and shop it around. that's why i still advocate putting the ball in your own court by figuring out what you're willing to pay (being realistic, of course) and then seeing who's willing to meet your price.
  • cliffbcliffb Member Posts: 46
    reply to #4642
    Shopping quotes around around:
I did just what snoopy21 said: "figuring what you're willing to pay". For my LX I got a realistic price from this forum (for this geographical area) and got the car for pretty much that price.
  • hopdevilhopdevil Member Posts: 7
    Beerlover -

Knowledge & timing were the keys to saving.

I E-MAILED a bunch of local dealers (ones I didn't necessarily want to buy from). I just wanted to get firm internet prices so I could judge what the market would bear. Most dealers only quoted me $300 under MSRP. I asked "Is that really your best price?" Most said that was as low as they would go and that no other dealer could do better, unless they were lying or scamming me.

Then I came here and found out that Sloane Honda quoted $1000 under MSRP to another forum member.

Next, I PHONED each dealer instead of emailing. I said "Sloane Honda will give it to me for $21,395." Most dealers wouldn't touch that price..until I talked to Martin Honda (Ardmore). After a week of back and forth emails with Martin, they agreed to match it. Mind you they did this in writing via e-mail.

Armed with info I walked into Scott Honda, fully prepared to buy at Martin (20 miles away), and said "I'm on my way to Martin with a deposit for my CRV. If you can match it, I'll buy from you instead." I showed the dealer my e-mail and he said, "we can do that."

Could I have negotiated a lower price from Scott? Maybe... but at that point I knew I was lucky to get $1000 off and I WAS TIRED OF THE WHOLE PROCESS. They had the exact car I wanted scheduled to arrive in a week. I got the VIN and gave them a deposit (Important: No VIN = No deposit). No games, no hard-sell.

If you know what you want, know what you want to pay, and aren't in a rush - then you may be able to get the same kind of deal.

  • crvme3crvme3 Member Posts: 140
Good for you hopdevil... you helped confirmed my point (post #4641). Armed with written quotes from other dealers/competitors. Sales people will usually do what it takes to make a deal. I got a little more than a $1000.00 off my '07 CRV EX-L in a very similar fashion. Hope you enjoy your new wheels :)

    Hopdevil,
It is funny you relied last evening because probably as you wrote this, I was finishing up the process of what you had done. I thank you for all your help and everyone else on the forum as this is a great point of reference.

I just got the 07 4WD EX for $900 under msrp.
    $23750 + tax & tag & $80 in fees =$25317 OTD

I only made this progress by doing exactly what you guys above mentioned. Shopping qutoes and holding on the best quote until.....someone got within range of what I was willing to pay.

Scott beat my best quote and it is close to me.The color I want will be in, in a few weeks.

NOW this is the best place for accessories that I found so enjoy or post a better link

Purchased a silver 2007 CR-V LX 2WD (MSRP $21,195) for $19,900 plus TTL ($21,700 OTD) from Penske Honda in Ontario, CA a couple of weeks ago. Spent about three weeks soliciting quotes from various Southern California Honda dealers.

Fuller Honda in Chula Vista gave an internet quote of $20,445 plus TTL which included a cargo tray, wheel locks and splash guards at no additional cost. Visited the dealer and the price went down to $21,900 OTD but for a white LX If I wanted silver, it would be $22,200 OTD for “one on the way.”

Hoehn Honda gave an internet quote of $20,547 plus TTL. This dealer wasn’t pushy but I did not pursue the offer.

Ball Honda in National City gave an internet quote of $20,665 plus TTL which included roof rack, wheel locks, splash guards, cargo tray and wheel moldings. This dealer wasn’t pushy either but I didn’t pursue the offer since I haven’t heard many great things when dealing with the Mile of Cars.

Poway Honda offered an internet quote of $20,648 plus TTL. Visited the dealer and the price given was $22,000 OTD but for beige only. No silver in stock.

Pacific Honda only offered MSRP of $21,195 plus TTL since the CR-V was “scarce.” Since other dealers were giving below MSRP quotes, I avoided this dealer.

I contacted one of the internet managers at DCH Honda in Temecula and asked if they could beat the $21,900 OTD which included the accessories and he came back with a higher quote of $22,900 OTD.

One of the internet managers at Tipton Honda in El Cajon was very arrogant. He added $1000-1500 on top of MSRP plus TTL on any CR-V model I asked about. For an LX, he gave a phone quote of $22,195 plus TTL. When I declined because I was able to get an OTD price of $21,900 from Fuller Honda, he started to bad mouth Fuller and criticized their business practices going on to say Fuller lures you down there then ends up tacking on another $2K on top of what they quoted you. To refute what he was saying I told him I got a similar deal from Poway Honda so he started to hurl insults at me…at this point I thanked him for his time then hung up on the loser mid-sentence.

Spirit Honda in El Monte gave an internet quote of $20,500 plus TTL. I emailed back with my best offer from Fuller Honda and did not get a response. I received a follow-up email for the LX a week later but the quote went up to $20,900 plus TTL.

Norm Reeves Honda in Cerritos would not go below MSRP on the LX due to limited inventory. This dealer claims to be the #1 Honda Dealer in the USA in volume sales and that they are never knowingly undersold. I was not willing to pay MSRP so I emailed the initial internet manager I was working with, gave him my best quote received and reminded him of Norm Reeves’ claims. He never responded and must have been insulted cause he turned it over to another internet manager who later emailed me and said they would only sell for MSRP….so they were willing to be knowingly undersold.

Received a flyer in the mail that had Penske Honda listed on the back. I checked them out online and requested a quote. One of the internet managers contacted me the next day and I gave him my best quote of $21,900 OTD. He called back and offered $21,700 OTD for the silver LX with black interior. I was ready to go up to make the purchase and he called to let me know that the silver LX with black interior had a roof rack installed but he just received a silver LX with gray interior 30 minutes before his phone call. No problem. He held the car and I went up to complete the transaction. I couldn’t get them to throw in any accessories but if I wanted, they could’ve sold me a tango red LX 2WD which included splash guards for the same price as the silver. Took the silver as color was more important and used Bernardi Parts to get the accessories. Took about 15 minutes to install the splash guards and cargo cover.

I could have bargained with a local San Diego dealer to match or beat the price but I too was tired of the process, tired of the BS prices given when I told them I wanted silver and didn’t want to leave a deposit for one on the way.

donkeypuncher, sounds like you really did your homework... all hats off to you for your persistence. Goes to show that good deals can be had but does require effort on our part (buyers). You might consider mentioning your experience with Norm Reeves and Tipton Honda in the "which Honda dealers are best & worst to work with" section in this forum, giving other potential CRV purchasers the benefit of your experiences. hope you enjoy!! :)
