I was given a quote of 500 over invoice, 33K for the Touring package plus a few minor extras (before the 1K rebate). Should I be able to get a better deal?
  • autobuyautobuy Member Posts: 4
The dealer in Charlotte was the one on Independence. I think it is Nissan East now. I asked for the sales manager. I told him I was looking for the best price and the Murano I wanted. He told me he would do $300.00 below invoice. When my dealer matched that he said he would do $500.00 under invoice. I had already made my deal with the other dealer. I have over 3k on mine in 1 month. I love it more all the time!

I forgot to add that I got the 1k rebate in addition to my deal. I also self detailed my trade and took it to Carmax. They appraised it at $300.00 over kbb and I got my dealer to match the Carmax price on the trade as well.

As a long time member of Edmunds, I value the input of all. I was just recently transferred from Phx to Colorado Springs and am now looking for a SUV. The list of candidates include

    Mercury Mariner
    Nissan Murano
    Toyota Highlander
    Toyota RAV4 (new 2006 w/ V6)
    Subaru Outback Turbo with auto
    Subaru Forrester Turbo with auto

I welcome your experience with any of these vehicles as well as with the Colorado Springs dealers of the same.

    Thanks much

    FYI:

I just bought a used '05 Murano SL AWD, 14.5K miles, it's a pretty basic model- no leather, no moonroof, no navi, no backup cam,no roofrack, no kidding- for $25,250 USD. It's just a FYI for use in comparison shopping.

Local dealership is offering $1500 under invoice on all 2006 Murano's in stock - too bad they do not have the Platinum color I was looking for. In fact the under invoice amount ($1500) is same does not matter which Nissan SUV you buy....
  • julierishjulierish Member Posts: 1
Could you please tell me what area you live in and what the going price is ?? Is that the murano with the sl touring package and is there also special financing available to ? Like 4% interest? Thank you

Phoenix. All Nissan SUVs and Trucks are $1500 under invoice. I am not sure if there is a catch - I went in there today and the guy was kind of pissed perhaps working on Christmas Eve or something - but anyways, he printed the invoice that matched Edmunds and said $1500 less of that invoice would be my price. They did not have the color, so I did not bite.

Lease, or no lease - every nissan's price is $1500 below invoice. Here is the email I got from the dealer -->

    ========
It's time to roll in a New Year and there's no way better than rolling in a New Nissan from Midway.

Starting December 26th and ending the close of business the 31st:

All full size trucks and S.U.V.'S are $1,500 under invoice!!

All cars and small trucks are $750 under invoice!!

    AND

You still keep all rebates and incentives!!

This is not a joke, just the easiest and cheapest way of buying a car.

Call today for you guaranteed low price quote.

Another local dealer is willing to match the $1500 below invoice on 06 Murano and has the color, will be picking up tonight. I hope will have better luck with 06 Muranos vs the first gen owners did. Will be trading in a 92 Q45.

Dealer Quote--> The price for the 2006 Nissan Murano SL Platinum with the Touring Package and SAT Radio , Splash Guards, Floor Mats and Cargo Area Protect.

    $31,785.00 less $1500.00 =$30,285.00 + TTL.

I traded in my 2003 BMW 530i for a 2006 SL AWD. Fell in love with the car after test driving it.

I paid $35,700 for the following:

    SL Touring
    NAV
    All season floor mats
    VDC
    Sunroof wind deflector
    Splash guards
    Cargo area protector

I think I got a decent deal. I wanted to get the rear DVD, but I think i'll get it done aftermarket.

Do you think I can get an 06 Murano SE w/ touring and Nav for 32k on the road? If not, what is a reasonable offer price?

    Happy new year everybody!

I'm a new buyer. I would like to buy a 2006 SL AWD Murano with the leather package. But it doesn't have the feature of heated front seats. How much it takes to ask dealer to add heated front seats?

Also would anybody kindly suggest a reasonable price for 2006 SL AWD Murano w/ Leather Package & Heated Front Seats + Carpeted Floor Mats + Cargo Area Protector + Splash Guards?

    Thanks a lot!

    Hi Carman,

    HAPPY NEW YEAR!
I'm in Miami, Florida and just leased a 2006 SL Murano with the Touring package for 42 months/ 15,000 miles/yr.
I gave $ 1,000 for all fees and first month payment and my monthly payment will be $406 taxes included. Adjusted Cap Cost is $31,928 and residual value is $ 18,676. I truly value your opinion so Do you think this is a good deal?

    Thanks a bunch

Is it possible to get a 2WD Murano SL with the Touring Package and Dynamic Control Package, the floor mats and cargo protector for $30,000 out the door? What''s the invoice for this (MSRP is $35,125.00). What backend incentives do the dealers get? Educate me. Thanks!!!

I've recently been in the "Problem and Fixes" forum discussing the alternator recall issue and checking up on the date of manufacture tag on my Murano.

I finally realized that my Murano, which I purchased from Town North Nissan in Austin in MARCH 2005, was actually built in AUGUST 2004!

Yes, my vehicle was somehow sitting in transit or on the lot for 7 months. Therefore, it's due for the alternator replacement because it was built before 09/04.

In any case, I'm not sure about other people, but I'm actually quite peeved by this, and will be aware of this next time. I feel like I bought a used vehicle, and will hope other potential buyers can avoid this.

    Hope that helps!
  • rampedramped Member Posts: 358
No reason to be upset. It's very common for cars to be on the lot for six or nine months before a sale. Most of the cars I buy are about that old because I usually wait until September or October to buy. I've never had a problem with any of them.

You can easily check the build date by opening the driver's door and checking the plate on the inside of the door jamb.

ALERT! ALERT! SUPERIOR NISSAN in Charlotte, NC!!!!

Yesterday had verbal and handwritten agreement in hand on price of Murano from both Sales Manager and salesperson. After handing over all of my paperwork, trade in keys and title, etc, I waited for over an hour for paperwork to be completed to sign.

BOTTOM LINE: They added $2000 to the contract! When I called them on it and pulled out the handwritten agreement, they refused to honor it. I called the General Manager today and his response was that it was an "honest mistake ;) ." Honest, deceptive, doesn't matter- it was still THIER "mistake," not mine- why should I pay $2000 of my hard earned money for it????

Who do you want to give your hard earned money to? I certainly will not give a dime of mine to SUPERIOR NISSAN.

PLEASE READ ALL NUMBERS AND TERMS CAREFULLY!!!;)" alt="image" />

I am looking to buy the same thing this weekend, minus the Dynamic Control Package. Did you buy? And if so, what price did you pay?? Thanks!
  • scarfagescarfage Member Posts: 1
The Murano will be my first new car purchase since I started driving so I've armed myself with every piece of info Edmunds has to offer. I am wondering if anyone can share their opinions of Nissan dealerships in and around the Richmond, VA area. Thanks.
  • anorrisanorris Member Posts: 3
Sorry for the delay in responding. I have not bought yet. We're still looking for that configuration (2WD with Touring package and floor and cargo mats). We've probably given up on the Dynamic Control package. Have you gotten a decent price on it and where do you live?
  • soylentgreensoylentgreen Member Posts: 62
Baker Jackson Nissan in Houston has offered me $26,650 for a Murano S 2WD with Conv pkg. How is this compared to similar Murano S quotes out there? Is this a fair price?
  • haropharop Member Posts: 59
Short answer is it sounds good.
If you check edmunds for invoice prices, then you will see

    Vehicle Invoice - $25381
    Conv. Pkg Invoice - $694
    Dest. Charge - $605

Total $26680, which is you are getting $30 bellow invoice for the car without any incentives. There must be also some charge for TTL(all paperwork I guess).

The reason I did all this calculations, is because I am planning to buy also, and I have VPP(Vehicle Puchase Program) with my company, which allow me to by Nissan for around invoice.

Is it possible to buy Nissan Murano for anything bellow invoice?

    Hey haro,

Not sure if you can get one below invoice, but this article may explain something MURANO article

Another dealer just accepted my offer for the same for $26,200. Currently working the deal right now.
  • elaineaelainea Member Posts: 1
Have you located the Murano you wanted? I'm looking in Medford and not finding what I want (AWD SE w/navigation - Midnight Blue -Cafe Latte leather interior) and just curious what price you are finding in the Portland metro area.

I picked up my Platinum Murano SL with leather and sunroof package last night. Included mats, roof rails, and some other minor stuff. $32500 out of the door. 4% apr. No trade. Houston, TX. The incentives on the Maxima and Titan are very very good; Murano, not so much.

Love the car so far, the camera is really cool, but dont think its very durable. Oh well! Nice car.

Picked up my Brilliant Silver S in Champion Nissan, Katy Tx last week. Paid $26,200 with convenience package plus a host of other extras (the mud guards, crossbars, cargo protector, etc).

MSRP was $29475. Did a lease on it MF was .00092 and 58% resid.

I bought the wheel/tire protection pkg though so total down was 1st month's payment + $300 for the tire/wheel protection.

Not bad for a week's worth of Edmund's research! :D

I think my wife and I stole this truck from mossy. We got a 2005 DEMO SL with everything except AWD and DVD player. Just in case you ask here is what came with the SUV DYNAMIC CTRL PKG, NAVIGATION SYSTEM, CARGO AREA PROTEC, SL TOUR PKG includs LEATHER along with the intel key. The MSRP on the thing was $38,000. It had only 5000 miles on it and we got it for $31,000 and got the teflon coat and interior protection for $500. I think it is a deal. I know it was a 2005 but, only had 5000 miles. Please tell me what you think. I think we were very lucky. Now lets hope we don't have problems we it.

    Thanks

Check with internet manager at Empire Nissan in Ontario. We bought a Murano SL there in December at $700 under invoice. Only extras were cargo protector and floor mats. Price OTD was just over $29,000.

Been offered 33,350 on the following...

Seems to me you got a great deal. I am in Central Illinois and the dealers are wanting about $1700 over invoice. Did you trade in a car? I'm wondering if they gave you a good price on the new car but got you on the tradein. Did you have to fight hard for this price?

I wouldn't mind driving to Chicago to save this much money.

    Thanks!

Picked up a 2006 Murano SL AWD with Touring Pkg (Platinum Perl/Charcoal) and the following accessories
    - Sunroof Deflector
    - Floor Mats
    - Cargo Area Protector
    - Splash Guards
    - Cargo Net
    - Roof Rack Guards

    Out of the door price - $33,577 - 4% APR 60 months.

Pleasant experience - almost 90% of transactions using email.
  • kunalks76kunalks76 Member Posts: 4
Does the $33,577 include Tax, Title & Registration fees as well? In that case, it is an absolutely fabulous deal.....how much was the Tax, Title & Registration fees in the 33,577?

Also, did you trade in your old vehicle?

    Thanks,
    Kunal
  • suv04suv04 Member Posts: 13
The Tax, Title, Registration fees was $1040.61 - the Mo's price was $32,537 with the MSRP being $36,525 and Invoice being $33,297 (inclusive of $605 destination charge). I did not do any trade in. I think I got approximately $760 below invoice (if the invoice value is as claimed by the dealership). The Vehicle had 24 miles when I picked it up.

Have till end of the month to decide if I want to add on the 5/7-year Gold+Service protection. Reading through Edmunds Forums on the Mo Problems before deciding.

Vehicle so far is a dream - rides as well as the MDX and appears to have relatively better mileage.

    Regards

Just picked up a 2006 SL AWD last night in Metro DC. Invoice was 34,585, and we paid 400 over invoice on it. I'm very impressed with any one who could get a 2006 under invoice, because where I live they are selling like crazy. I literally saw two other people buy a Murano on the Tuesday night I was there.
