Even man, still trying to work out numbers on an E class...
What are the numbers for 2016 E400 coupe either RWD or AWD for :24 & 36 months with 10K each term. or in other words, what is the "sweet spot"? Thank you! trying to see which combination has the highest residual and lowest money factor!
Thanks, Michaell. So, using an MF 0.00180 and residual value 59% comes out about $924 a month.
That's not what I get - using $67,475 as the MSRP and $62,984 as the net cap cost, I get about $829/mo before tax.
Please correct me if I'm wrong, but in Texas, I believe we have to pay tax on the entire purchase amount rather than the depreciated amount. 6.25% x $62,984 = $3936.50 divided by 36mo = $109 in taxes/mo. The $924/mo that I came up also includes taxes. Does that sound right? Thanks.

.00109 MF for RWD .00111 MF for AWD
61%/56% residual for either model.. 36 months is definitely the best

Ok,so this is my first time taking at stab at this, any tips are appreciated. Been going back and forth with a few dealers and got a few pretty low. The dealer I am considering has offered a 2016 E350 with MSRP of $61,155 and have them at $52,176. The model I want is actually $61,915. I'm going to go with it if I can get them to $51,000. I also have a fleet discount of $4,000 more off (which I have not mentioned as it said I could negotiate first then add it in). So that would put me at $47,000. I haven't mentioned the lease part yet. If someone could help me weigh on what the residual would be for a 12k p/yr or 15k p/yr. Also, can I qualify ahead of time with MB Financial so I don't have to screw around at the dealer? It's a bit a hike. Any tips? Then I tell them I want to do multiple security deposit to get down the MF? Is there anything I am missing?
Could you please share the September MF and Residuals for E350 for 36/10k 36/12k 36/15k
Is there a better deal to be found for 24 or 27 month leases?
I'm in Northern California and am being offered MF 0.00160 and residual of 59% for 36/10k and feel that they are not right?
Thanks!
RWD? .00080 and 56% for 36/15, 65% for 24/15.
Add 2% for 12K and 3% for 10K.
No 27 month term for the E-class in September.
Thanks!
I'm a first timer and have a Noob question: I was quoted a much higher MF (double). Is MF negotiable or fixed by the company that dealers cannot increase/decrease? The one mentioned here in the forms (i.e., 0.00080) is an average, minimum, or maximum MF?
Also, do folks on the forum typically pick a car and negotiate with the specific dealer or send out specs and let each dealer quote on the closest match in their inventory?

The money factor quoted is the base rate for top tier credit. Dealers may (and often do) attempt to markup this rate for extra profit. As you've found, sometimes by a large amount.
Everyone negotiates differently. I try to find the closest dealer that has the car I want on the lot, and try to get my deal from them. If that doesn't work, I expand my circle. (Some like to hit up all the dealers and try to get a race to the bottom.. that seems like too much work...lol)
I've been asking to apply base MF of 0.0008 and remove the $300 markup from the acquisition cost. But seems like we are stuck. This will bring the payment to $621.
Is this a fair target? Is it typical to have such fees at drive offs? I haven't shopped around -- this is from the dealer who has the car on the lot.
Also, is it better to roll in acquisition cost and/or other fees in the lease or pay upfront?

Markups are more typical than not... You have to balance that against the big discount from MSRP. It's possible they may have not offered that low of a price, if they had to use the base rates. Some finance departments take markups every time, and won't negotiate on that point.
So..look at the deal in it's entirety. $686/mo, all in..is pretty darn good for a $70K MSRP vehicle.
MSRP: $66.090 Selling Price: $56,593 15,000 miles a year $37,010 residual (56%) .00077 money factor (1.85%) $2,500 out-of-pocket (only $150 as cap cost reduction and the rest paying first month, acquisition fee of $1,095 and taxes, registration, etc.) Monthly payment including tax for 36-months: $650 (6.25% tax)

I get the same payment .... looks like a very healthy discount from sticker.
