I have received a quote from a dealer on a 2016 Q5 Prem Plus 2.0 W/Tech for 36/12.
Market Value : 48,625 Dealer discount (3%) and $1000 Rebate (Audi Summer event) and with Audi Care added - $1555 Vehicle Price (Net after Rebate): $47,770
Money Factor is .0008. This is in NC state. Due at Signing is $3000 which covers the 1st month payment, tag ($94.00) and doc ($598) fees and $2300 of the $2999 cap cost.
Monthly payment is at $555.00 (including taxes). Residual at the end of the lease is $27,622.00)
Please let me know if this is a good deal. I am planning on asking the dealer to reduce my payments to $500 or so without going any higher further on the down payment.
Appreciate any feedback. Thanks again.
.00030 MF and 55% residual for 36mo, 12K/yr. The list price for AudiCare on a Q5 is just $849. This also adds 1% to the residual , or 56% in this case.
So, to recap 3% off MSRP (should be looking for 5%-6% off) marked up AudiCare (should be $849) $598 dealer fee (consider this a reduction to your discount) .00080 MF (.00030 base. This adds $37/mo.)
Not a good deal.
Got another quote for a different dealer:

i was surprised how firm he was on the mf. he went from 0.00240 to 0.00220. i even threaten to go financing at the promotional apr of 2.9%. he would not budge.

Is there something special about the car you want? I know 2016 inventory is getting thin; perhaps he can hold fast on the MF knowing that somebody will take it.
I don't think so. It's one of the few whites left in norcal, but that shouldn't be it.
I did negotiate the price from MSRP $53K to $45K. That could be the reason, that he wants to make up the difference?
Should I go with financing at 2.9% given this scenario?
Thanks so much for all your input!
Yeah, that's a huge discount from sticker. Can't say I'm surprised they are holding firm on the MF. Usually you get one or the other (big discount or base MF) but rarely both.
Hi, I'm looking to lease a 2016 Audi Q5 with Premium Plus with Tech for 36 months with either 10K or 12K miles per year. What is the current MF and % Residual for Texas? Thank you!

why would you buy 3 year audi care when the third year of service is at the time you are supposed to return the car? if it reduces your residual by 1% which reduces your cost of depreciation?

The residual is increased by 1%, which offsets the cost of the AudiCare.
@Michaell is this a bogus deal? I know they're marking up the MF but heavily discounting the car. He said they need to stay in business and that whole sob story. 15k/36months
Msrp 50,890. Price sold to me would be 45,498.60. - 1750 for the summer of audi event and loyalty. Doc fee is 135 Asq Fee is 795 Money factor .00060 (this is being marked up, I know) res value .53 NJ sales tax paid up front included in the $2,500 down payment mentioned below.
Payments would be 558.52 a month with 2500 down payment which includes all start ups and first months payment.

Thoughts?
My calculations are less than $1 difference from the dealer offer.
$536/mo with the base MF of .00030 ... or, put another way, about $800 ... if you can get the base MF and have the dealer only increase the sale price say, $300-500, you'd be ahead.
Yes, dealers often provide a big discount from sticker but mark up the MF. Try multiple dealers - only takes one to give you both a big discount and the base MF.
I am looking to lease a 2016 Audi Q5 3.0T Premium Plus with Tech Package - 10K/36Month.
I got the dealership here in Austin, TX to come down off the MSRP of $51,990 to $46,390 after Discount and Manufacture rebates. However, I am still uncertain about what I can reasonably expect on MF and % Residual.
On a comment from a few days ago I saw the MF and Residual in Texas are: .00030 and 59% (60% with AudiCare)
Would LEWP (Lease Excessive Wear Protection) add another 1% to the RV?
I want to make sure I have all of my facts straight before I go in to negotiate the final numbers of the lease agreement.

Those numbers are valid for the 2.0T; for the 3.0T, the 36/10 numbers are .00143 and 58% (59% with AudiCare).
Be advised that in TX, sales tax is applied to the entire selling price of the vehicle.

Michael - Thanks for getting back to me. Do you think the MF is likely to go down over the next month as Audi attempts to clear out the remaining 2016 Inventory? I don't fully understand why it is so different form the 2.0T to the 3.0T.

3.0T is a higher trim level, thus commanding a higher MF and lower residuals than the 2.0T
@nicknak On VW this month, purchasing LEWP qualifies you for sales tax credits (in TX). You might check to see if that is the case with Audi, as well.
It is the case with Audi, as well. The dealer indicated, that by purchasing LEWP for $807 we were getting approximately $2,000 in sales tax credits. However, I don't really understand how it applies to the sales tax unless the manufacture is simply offering it as discount of the MSPR.
Could you please explain how or why LEWP qualifies a lease for Sales Tax Credits (in TX)?

AFS gets sales tax credits, because they are basically trading leases back in at lease end. It's a Texas thing, and all banks get them. I'm not sure of the ins and outs of the credits, but guessing at some point, the bank can't keep the credits or maxes out on them, and has to offer them as incentives to new lessees.
Audi/VW has chosen to use the LEWP program as a qualifier. A couple of reasons? The LEWP is a profit center for the dealer, which makes them happy. LEWP helps AFS offset the costs of re-selling the cars at lease end. It's a win/win for AFS/dealers, and the customer still saves money on the front end (tax credits) and on the back end (no wear/tear charges at lease end).
I've not seen it tied together, before, but it seems like a good idea, from a business perspective.

Audi Q5 2.0T premium plus package with no navigation (Is premium plus package without navigation worth it?)
MSRP - $46139
Adjusted CAP COST - $39482.72
Residual - $25376.40 (55% for 12k miles for premium plus)
Monthly payment - $448.32 (base $411.30 + tax 37.02)
Can't help you with what trim or options to get .. I've never shopped in that price range.
And, AudiCare bumps the 36/12 residual to 56%, and the pre-tax payment drops to $399/mo.

I did negotiate the price from MSRP $53K to $45K. That could be the reason, that he wants to make up the difference?
Should I go with financing at 2.9% given this scenario?
Thanks so much for all your input!
How long do you plan to keep the car?

Msrp 50,890.
Price sold to me would be 45,498.60. - 1750 for the summer of audi event and loyalty.
Doc fee is 135
Asq Fee is 795
Money factor .00060 (this is being marked up, I know)
res value .53
NJ sales tax paid up front included in the $2,500 down payment mentioned below.
Payments would be 558.52 a month with 2500 down payment which includes all start ups and first months payment.
Thoughts?
$536/mo with the base MF of .00030 ... or, put another way, about $800 ... if you can get the base MF and have the dealer only increase the sale price say, $300-500, you'd be ahead.
Yes, dealers often provide a big discount from sticker but mark up the MF. Try multiple dealers - only takes one to give you both a big discount and the base MF.

I got the dealership here in Austin, TX to come down off the MSRP of $51,990 to $46,390 after Discount and Manufacture rebates. However, I am still uncertain about what I can reasonably expect on MF and % Residual.
On a comment from a few days ago I saw the MF and Residual in Texas are:
.00030 and 59% (60% with AudiCare)
Would LEWP (Lease Excessive Wear Protection) add another 1% to the RV?
I want to make sure I have all of my facts straight before I go in to negotiate the final numbers of the lease agreement.
I would really appreciate your guidance on this.
Be advised that in TX, sales tax is applied to the entire selling price of the vehicle.
LEWP would not affect the residual.

You might check to see if that is the case with Audi, as well.

3.0T is a higher trim level, thus commanding a higher MF and lower residuals than the 2.0T

Could you please explain how or why LEWP qualifies a lease for Sales Tax Credits (in TX)?
thank you
.00030 and 56% (Prem) or 53% (Prem Plus) for 36/15.
Extra miles are charged at .15/mile, or $1350 total, deducted from the 15K residual.
