    Hello Michaell,

What are lease numbers for August 2015? (MF/Residual) Dealership wants to close the deal before the 31st.

2016 Audi Q5 3.0 TDI Premium Plus (Technology Package, S Line Plus Package,Sport Interior Package) with AudiCare

    MSRP: $55,995
    Zip: 90815 (Los Angeles County)
Sale Price Per Edmunds Online Calculator: $48,330 (Hoping to negotiate this price with the dealer)
    Lease Term: 36 months
    Miles/Year: 12,000
    Down Payment: $3000

I'm being told I'm Teir 2 with my credit score from Audi Financial. How does this affect the MF?

    Thank You.

    .00184 and 60% for 36/12 - this is for tier A+ and A

I don't have credit scores, but tier B adds .00040 to the MF.

What is the breakdown of the $3000 due at signing?

First time leasing. I'm just guessing here, but are you asking how it will affect the selling price I listed? Good question. I'm not sure how that fits into the math. Can you help me understand?

    $48,330 (selling price) + $724.95 (tax/reg) - $3000 (Down Payment) = $46,055
    $48,330*60%=$28,998 (from selling price?)
    $46,055-$28,998=$17,057

    Money Factor:
    .00184+.00040 = .00224
    .00224*2400 = 5.376%

    $17,057 (payments based of this?)+(3*(17,057*5.376%) [<---- interest] = so.....
    $17,057 + 2751 =$19,807
    $19,807/36 (months) = ~$550/month payment

I'm missing the 9% sales tax in my math. Not sure if that's calculated of the selling price, or...?

Residual is a percentage of MSRP, not selling price.

The money factor is used to calculate the finance charges. No need to convert it to an APR. Also, it's applied to an average of the CAP cost and residual, not the depreciation amount

I'm not sure how you got your selling price, but $7600 off MSRP on a Q5 doesn't seem very realistic...

    Hi Folks,

I am trying to lease 2016 Audi Q5 2.0T Premium Plus quattro AWD with Technology and Sport Package. I am based in NJ which has 7 % tax.

    Car MSRP – 50135

Dealer ready to sale car for 47000 OTD which includes taxes, doc and reg.

For lease he gave me quote for 570 pm for 10K miles for 36 months with 1st monthly payment as down. 570 includes taxes as well. Any mileage above 10K is 0.40 cents.

No Audi care connect. Dealer did not gave me MF but I believe residual was 62% but not sure.

Is this a good deal. What should be my Residual and MF.

I get $645/mo with your numbers. $570 looks quite aggressive by comparison.

Hey do you mind PMing me the dealer you are getting that deal at?

Are you paying anything down or trading anything in, that seems like a great price..

    Question:

I'm in Walnut Creek (close to San Francisco, Ca) and this is what I'm looking for

    10-12,000 mi/year
    Lease 36mo
    Down: $0
Colors: White preferred but open to options

    2016 Audi
    Q5 3.0T Premium Plus quattro
    272-hp 3.0L Supercharged V6
    8-speed Shiftable Automatic
    All-Wheel Drive
    COLOR & TRIM
    Glacier White Metallic
    Black Leather
    PACKAGES & OPTIONS
    Technology Package
    Sport Interior Package

    - What is the money factor for this?
    - Could I also get the MF for the 2015 of similar specs?

I'm working on the dealer with an invoice price now.

    Thanks!

Ordered a 2016 SQ5 Prestige with the following details. I still think I can get this down to $798 a month. What do you think?

    MSRP $62,800
    Negotiated $57,147.99
    Monthly = $839.46 (8.375% tax included)
    Down / At Sign payment = $1,086.91
    Miles = 10,000

    7,500 Miles = $821.61 / At Sign- $1,069.06

    Thank you in advance.

    36/10 for the 2016 SQ5 Prestige - .00155 and 58%

With your MSRP and negotiated price, I get $781 with tax. For 7500 miles, the payment with tax drops to $763.

I would confirm the net cap cost as well as the MF - dealer may be adding to one or both to increase the payment.
How do I calculate monthly lease payment given: MF, Tax, Negotiate MSRP, Money due at signing and miles? I've seen an article before but the calculations in there did not add up to what you concluded as monthly payments here. If you can give me some example calculations, it'll be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

Michael...could you provide current rates and residuals for a Q5 TDI? Audi's website is marketing a TDI lease special, and I'm intrigued. Do you know if there's any dealer incentives to go along with the rates?

First time posting! I'm considering a 2016 sq5. The msrp is 63,350. I'm leaning towards a lease. I have never negotiated a lease before. I would be able to put 10,000-20,000 down. I live in near Louisville, Ky. Can someone give me some numbers that they would seem as fair? I would be fine with 10,000 miles a year. Also what is Audi care? If I decided to buy what would be a fair price? Thanks

We do not recommend a down payment on a lease - if the car is stolen or totaled you lose the money.

What lease term are you looking for?

use the pricing tools at the top of the page - make model year - to help get price targets.

I was looking for a three year lease with 10,000 miles a year. My insurance rep said they don't see many people leasing because rates are low to buy. What would you think as a fair purchase price would be? I thought some people paid the entire lease price up front to lower cost. Wouldn't my insurance replace a lost or stolen car because of gap coverage? Thanks

GAP covers the difference between what is owed (payoff on the lease) and the ACV of the totaled vehicle. It doesn't reimburse you for any amount you might have put down.

Not sure I'd ask my insurance rep about lease/buy decisions, but he does have a point about rates. Audi lease rates aren't that great. On another vehicle, a lease might be a smart move, but on an Audi Q5 it is pricy.

    Hi!
    1. Do you have MF rates for A, B and C tier with Audi Financial for 2016 Audi Q5 2.0 Prem Plus for 36mo/10k mi? and same question for 36 mo/12k mi?
    2. If we have $4k and don’t want to make a lease downpayment, could we do MSD’s? If so, how many can you do and what does that reduce the MF to?
    This is in Texas. THANKS!

Found out my better half and her mom both are interested in an Audi q3. So the question is it reasonable to get 10% off MSRP if I also buy the sq5 at the same time?
Three cars in one day has to get me a big discount.

    1) .00165 MF and 58%/57% residual.
    Add .00040 for B-tier or .00065 for C-tier.

    2) Not real familiar with Audi's MSD program. I think it's .00005 reduction per SD, with a maximum of 10.

Buying multiple cars doesn't help as much as you would think. Maybe, if you were buying 10 or 20. If you get a killer deal on one car, then that's about as good as you could expect on the next two.

Thanks for your reply. So why is the principal for MSD’s different from the principal for lease down payments (i.e. lease down payments are discouraged as you can lose that money)? Are MSD’s refundable at the end of the lease or something, so it’s worth paying MSD’s to get lower interest rate, but if the car is totaled or stolen, you do recover that $?
Thanks so much, just trying to understand it all :)

MSD monies are returned to you at the end of the lease. In return, you get a lower MF applied to your lease deal. If the lease terminates early (stolen or totaled car), you still get that money back.

Please let me know about these numbers

    2016 Audi Q.5 quattro Premium Plus 36/12k
    48670 MSRP
    Residual .57
    MF .00165
    Price 42759

quoted $4000 down, $525 month - let me know what you think of this deal.

Assuming that is a 2.0T, given those are the correct MF and residual.

Need a CAP cost to truly evaluate the deal.
$533/mo. just using the MSRP and selling price.. So, what's the $4000 for? (1st payment, acquisition fee).. but, what else?

I apologize. They are actually absorbing 750$ worth of my miles on a prior lease from a different make. doc fee is 499.00 govt fees 319.50, taxes 1423.62. I dont know if that helps. I do not see any other misc fees here.

Then it looks like a solid deal (dealer quoting $525/mo, my co-host calculated $533/mo)

Hi, can you tell me the MF and Residual for a Q5 3.0 Premium Plus in NYC? Thanks in advance.

    36/12k
    .00178 MF and 59% residual
So I decided the 2.0 Premium Plus w/ the Technology package is a better fit for me. I'm being offered...

    Net Cap Cost - $42, 241
    MF - .00165
    Res - 60%
    36/12
$3257 down which includes first month, bank fee, taxes (NYC), DMV, etc.
    $543 a month

From what I can gather, it seems like a very good deal. Can you please confirm? Thanks in advance!

They have the residual wrong. That's the correct money factor, but the residual is 57% for the Premium Plus. 60% is the 2.0T Premium residual for 36/12

If that is the residual they are using for a Premium Plus, I think it will get kicked back, or they will catch it beforehand.

So if the residual gets knocked down to 57%, what would the payment turn into according to your numbers?

What is the MSRP? The difference in the payment will be 3% of that number, divided over 36 months.
