  • Hi,

Are these MF's the lowest base MF or could they be lower based on credit score? Asking since they seem kind of high compared to other manufactures.

    thanks!

    thanks!

I quote the base MF for top tier credit. Cannot get any lower than that.

Yep, the WRX and STi have insanely high MF at the moment - popular car + limited availability = high MF from the bank.

    36/12 on the Limited is 64% and .00190. Add 1% for 10K

Bank fee, dealer fee, first payment and license or tag costs are all due up front.

    .00209 MF and 65% residual.

Adding $595 acquisition fee to the price, I get a payment of $387/mo.+tax.
Even 9% tax only brings you up to $422/mo.

Looks like they are putting an extra $500 in that deal, somewhere... at least.

Could you explain how you come up with the total , so I can educate myself to lower the payment when I talk to the dealer. When I use the Edmunds lease calculator, it comes up real high.

    Thank you for your time,

I just plug the numbers in the formula and do the calculations (well, I have the formula in a spreadsheet, but it works just as well with pen and paper)

See this post for the formula:

Hi guys, this is a great space. Thank you for devoting time to this.
I need some guidance. Looking to lease a

2016 Subaru WRX STI Sedan Limited w/Lip Spoiler, 6-speed manual
    Sti Short Throw Shifter Package
    Sti Performance Exhaust
    MSRP: $42,599
    True Car/Zag: $40,552 (with dealer fees/delivery)

    36 months
    10,000 a year
    Zip: 07932
    State Taxes: 7%
Total money out of pocket (no additional for title, registration or etc): $3,000

How much should I expect to pay a month? What are the residual and the Money Factor for my area on the STI limited so that I can calculate the monthly payment myself should the MSRP change?

    Thank you SO MUCH.

    .00225 MF and 68% residual.

That's $478/mo., if you pay first payment, all taxes, fees and costs upfront... (probably around $2500 in NJ).

Got an offer on a 2016 base WRX (july's numbers, no sales tax)
36 month @ 15K per year with $755.00 down (first payment plus DMV)
    MSRP $27,985.00
    Cap Cost (price) $26,473.00
    Money factor 0.00231
    Lease end value $19,029.00
    $329.77 per month
Does this seem right? MF and residual look accurate to me but I want to be sure.

I get $311/mo.+tax. I would assume that the CAP cost doesn't include the $595 acquisition fee. Add that in, and it's right on the money.

The current Subaru numbers expire on 8/3/15 ... the new numbers will be available at the dealer the next day, but it sometimes takes us an extra day or two for us to get them.

Why is the CAP cost more than the MSRP, if you have $2450 due at signing? Shouldn't that amount be enough to cover all taxes, registration, acq.fee and 1st payment?

Doesn't look like a good deal, from here.

@arthur26 I am running the deal through the Leasify iPhone app to get a Leasify Deal Score but need a little more information. What is your exact zip code? What other options are on the car? Can you break out the fees - acquisition, documentation, etc.?

At first glance this doesn't look great. If your money factor is .00209 that translates to an APR of over 5%! This is pretty high for a lease deal.

Because the 2016 WRX is in such high demand it is possible you will have to pay MSRP or close. For zip code 10301 it looks like the average selling price for the 6 MT with no options is $29,310. This is the Edmunds.com True Market Value (TMV). Try to stay below TMV, minimize fees, and bring the money factor down.

MF will be sensitive to your credit score but .00209 seems very high. Check with competing dealers in your area to get multiple quotes. I always request multiple quotes to ensure I am getting the best deal and introduce competition between dealers into the process.

The base MF on the WRX is very high, as it's in high demand and Subaru knows it can get away with it. Can't go any lower; this is the base rate from Subaru Motors Finance.

Hello and thank you for your help on this forum.

I'm planning on leasing a WRX 2016 CVT Limited with EyeSight. The agreed price is $33,760, i'm planning to only pay $1k to drive off. I would like 48 months at 15k miles, would you please give me an estimate monthly payment and MF so I have an idea what to expect when I go to the dealer? Thanks in advance. I forgot to mention that the sales tax is 6% Md.

55% and .00220 are the 48/15 lease numbers for the 2016 WRX Limited CVT.

We would need to know the MSRP and net cap cost in order to model a payment. But, it will be expensive since MD taxes the entire selling price for a lease.

I get $372/mo with those numbers. Are you paying the taxes up front? What about the other start up costs - bank fee, dealer fee, first payment, etc.?
Well, I'm hoping to cover all those fees along with the 1st payment with the 1k I would like to put down. Does that makes sense?

Sorry about that, the MSRP is 36,745 and the net cap would be like 32,500. Hope this helps. Again, thanks in advance.

I understand your intent, but $1K won't be nearly enough. If the selling price is the $32,500 you mentioned above, the sales tax alone at 6% will be almost $2000. First payment, bank fee, dealer fee and tags or license will be another $1500 or so (just a guess).

The alternative is to add them to your cap cost and increase your monthly payment. Every $1000 you add will increase your payment about $21/mo.

Did you get a good deal? Be sure to come back and let us know! Post a pic of your new purchase or lease!

First off, thanks for providing specifics Michaell.

What would be the residual and MF for a 2016 WRX Premium 6MT for 36/10k in 60202 (Evanston, IL)?
Does residual and MF vary from ZIP to ZIP?

I'll probably hop on and ask again mid-august when new rates are expected to come, if you don't mind.

.00224 MF and 68% residual. SMF numbers are national.
