So the dealer I'm working with is offering the following, any thoughts good or bad?

2016 Lexus IS300
36m/12k

MSRP - 43724
Sales Price (Cap Cost) - 41,367
Money Factor - .0007
Down Payment - 2600
Residual - 28847
Sales tax 7.25
Payments with tax - $411

When I ran those through the Leaseguide.com calculator it came up with like $356.52. Could I have messed up the lease calculation that bad? (I ask that fully understanding that I could have )

Can't help you with the lease calculator - often, they make assumptions we know nothing about.

Using your numbers, I get $425.39/mo.

How is the $2600 down being applied (taxes, fees, down payment)?

Thanks Michaell - down payment is going about 1500 bucks towards taxes/fees, the rest down payment. However, it kind of looks like they may have used a portion of that for MSDs b/c the money factor is lower than published.

That is possible, but I've never heard of a dealer 'automatically' setting up MSDs without the customers explicit desire to do so.

Dealer gave us a hard time with the numbers as far as MF and residuals. Sales manager actually told me Lexus isn't doing 27mo leases right now and he's "doing me a favor". Not only that he also said 36mo leases have higher residuals than 27mo. Mind boggling isn't it. I laughed.
It was a long day but here's what I ended up with
2016 IS300 F sport. Msrp 47298
27 months, 12k miles. 450 per month
0 out of pocket, not even taxes or tags. Sign and drive, 450/mo

I don't think I did bad considering the dealer shenanigans and I don't even know what my MF is.

All IS trims are grouped into this discussion .. easier that to have separate discussions for 200t, 300 and 350.

36/10 numbers are 67% and .00100. First payment complimentary.

You must be doing something wrong.

Using your MSRP and cap cost, along with the .00100 MF and 68% residual for 36/7.5, I get $379.56/mo including tax. and $0 down.

Of course the dealer doesn't want you to do your own calculations - they can't hide anything that way!

Calculating a lease involves nothing more than 4th grade math. However ... I'm getting a slightly different number than you, given your figures. I get $318.49/mo with tax for 42 months assuming an MSRP of $39,354 and a net cap cost of $35,500. Not quite the $305/mo you get but about the same as the quote from the dealer with MSD.

Ask them what net cap cost they are using for their calculations. Do not let them not answer that question. If necessary, start working with another Lexus dealer.
