Seeking your advice. I've been reading through the comments here and it seems like most folks are getting great deals and paying sub-500, even sub-400 monthly payments.

Looking to lease a 2016 IS200T F-Sport in Southern California (92782)

MSRP: $44,648.00
Sale Price: $42,600.00
Residual Value: $29,467.68 (66%)
Down Payment: $2,000

Money Factor: 0.0019
Money Factor after MSD: 0.00063

Amount quoted before MSD: $535/month
Amount quoted after MSD: $434/month

The pre-MSD amount seems really high doesn't it? I thought it would be closer to $450/month w/o MSD reduction and closer to $350 with that lower MF.

Am I missing something here?

36/10 numbers are 66% and .00095. Dealer is marking up the MF a whole bunch on you.

Using your MSRP and sale price, I get a payment of $433.25/mo + tax.

Yes .00095 is the base MF.

My original calculations used the .00095 MF.

9 MSDs would bring the MF down to .00023.

New payment would be $381/mo plus tax

Yes .00095 is the base MF. My original calculations used the .00095 MF. 9 MSDs would bring the MF down to .00023. New payment would be $381/mo plus tax

I'm late to the party this month, but I am reading on Lexus.com $349 with $1,749 down - 10K mile Lease offer. There's not a lot of fine print here, So I was wondering. Is it safe to assume on a 200T, the 65% Residual and the .0095 MF is in play here in Charlotte, NC?

ASSUMING those numbers, Last month I got my dealer to offer me a $39,949 200t for $33,949. Paying 6 MSDs last month,(42 Month lease) I was able to get them down to $319/mo. That was with a 64% and higher MF I believe. (image of the calculations Link)

Can someone help me paint the possibilities now with the same MSRP and Sale Price with the current numbers? If he could do it before, I am sure he can do it now

42/10 numbers are 62% and .00095. 36/10 residual is 66%

Using your MSRP and sale price as the net cap cost, I get $274/mo for 42 months or $268/mo for 36 months, both before tax.

9 MSDs would reduce the MF to .00023, and the payment goes down to $225/mo (36 months) or $232/mo (42 months).

Assuming you pay the inception costs up front and not roll them into the cap cost. And, assuming you can get $6K off sticker, which to me seems unlikely.

@Michaell -- Thanks for the VERY FAST reply.. The actual cost out the door, from the screen shot I attached actually appears to be $35,772 after the "Inception Costs" were added to the $33,949. If I am reading the screenshot they sent me back in my post right. So SOMEHOW, they were lowering the price then, Why not now

My goal is to achieve < $250/mo! Doesn't look like I am going to get there with the $35,772 and the information you gave me. More like $275 in either calculation (with the MSDs)

Even then, It seems more beneficial, if possible to pay those inception fees upfront, I would think because aren't MSDs, rounded to the next $50 increment. So with your numbers my MSDs would cost $250/ piece, but with the $275 the MSDs would be $300 a piece.. I think. Overthinking all of this, maybe but there's some savings there too if you can pay the inception fees and MSDs all upfront. (500/800 bucks) LOL

Ended up with a monthly of $390.77 for 36mo/10k on a 2016 IS200t F-Sport. Atomic Silver on Rjola Red

$2000 down, $3600 in MSD.

Thank @Michaell for the MF numbers and the estimated monthly payments. Went back to the dealer armed with my numbers - called them out on the initial MF they quoted me which was basically double the .00095. They ultimately agreed and honored the .00095 and .00023 after MSD.

Ended up removing the spoiler and getting an additional $300 off compared to the original discount - all in all, I thought it was a good deal!

Add 2% for 12K

Lexus allows 9 MSDs, each of which lower the MF by .00008

Credit score of 720 or better gets you the best rates.

Question, one of the dealerships stated the following in an email to me earlier "We are also using a tax credit with this lease as well as two $500 closing certificates which expire at the end of business today." Are those credits from the manufacturer? If so, I should haggle the price of the car off of MSRP, and then those credits should be deducted from that negotiated price, correct?

That's how I would treat them .. extra incentives off the already negotiated price.

It depends on the price you've been able to negotiate, and whether you choose to pay the inception fees up front or roll it into the lease.

$350 including tax. Selling price 37,280 (maybe this is where i did poorly, as i've seen some on this forum get f-sports at this price). In FL with 6% tax.

I went to dealer and they gave me a 38,300 seling price (over 44,760 MSRP), 0.0009 MF and 66% residual (for 36/10k) however they were calculating a very high monthly payment (429 with 7% tax). Their logic was to calculate the residual based on the selling price and not the MSRP. Of course they did not want to discuss the details and kept saying my method was wrong (calculating the residual from MSRP and getting 325 with 7% tax). I did not take the deal.

Can they even do this? claim selling price, residual, mf and then come up with a different number?

A dealer plugs the numbers into the computer, and it calculates the lease. They can't alter the residual.

It doesn't make any sense

In all my years of leasing, this is the first time I've heard this. Ask for a documented accounting of the lease details - if you have other dealer options, I recommend trying one that is more honest than this one.
