One follow up. Does Mercedes increase residual or decrease money factor if you prepay the maintenance (forget what they call it). I remember on the Audi audicare increased the residual a percent or so.

Some members have reported the maintenance cost being added to the MSRP, before calculating the residual, which has the same approximate result.

But, that seems to be hit or miss.

It's no different than leasing a new car, except there will be a residual adjustment (downward) to account for the existing mileage. There also should be an extra saving in selling price to account for that residual adjustment, relative to a new car. If not, why lease a loaner?

Thanks. This vehicle is one that my dealership has to do a swap with another dealership out of state for. Is there typically a markup seen when they do that? They are also doing an 8 month pull-ahead on my current lease.

They claim they are waving them. The 4000 down I believe to be paying the fees/tax/title and first months payment.

Yes, but your earlier message indicated $3341.09 of cap reduction, not up front costs.

Hello everyone,

I am new to this forum and to leasing but think I have the terminology down now (hopefully). I am trying to find out what I should be asking the dealer when negotiating a lease. Ideally I would like to put 0 down and pay under $500 a month is this possible? I live in South Florida.

I do not have tier 1 credit and I have looked at the national deal which is 399/month with $4500 due at signing. It is based on an MSRP of 41,000. Can you tell me what I should do next or if a CLA is more plausible. Thanks!

Hard to say what you will be able to negotiate with less than tier 1 credit - that will affect the money factor.

The national deal is just OK, but we don't recommend making a down payment.

CLA will almost certainly be more affordable.

Asking for 36 months leasing terms, need me to put down $4000 (tax included), and $453 per month.

It looks like a very unreasonable leasing deal. I asked for the MF and residual, which MF is 0.00252 and residual is 62%.

Can anyone suggest if MF 0.00252 is a reasonable?

Ah, that does change things. Texas is one of only a few states that charges sales tax against the entire selling price.

Where is the bank fee in the up front cash? That alone is $795, if not marked up by the dealer.

I don't track selling prices - you can read back through the last page or two of this discussion to see what others have been able to negotiate, or use the 'make / model / year' pull downs at the top of the page to link to the price tools.

We've heard that MSDs are only available on standard MF, but others have posted otherwise. So, we aren't really sure.

Lease: $2100 down (includes all fees and first month payment) $552/month or $3100 down $522/month or $4100 down $491/month
Lease disposition fee $595
residual 61% ($32903.40)

Is this a good deal? I'm thinking of going with the $2100 down option.

If the $2100 includes all fees, and the $46,788 is the net cap cost, that calculates out to a pre-tax payment of $508/mo, so pretty close to the $552/mo quote (assuming tax is 9%).

If you are comfortable with the purchase price, no reason not to sign the deal.
