Extra miles are deducted from the 15K residual at the rate of .15-.25 per mile.

All of it is going towards the cap reduction. The deal doesn't sound as good as I hoped.

As is, I get $579/mo plus tax with those numbers.

Politely tell the dealer you won't sign a deal with a marked up MF; they know what the base rate is.

There are so many dealers in SoCal that you should have no problem getting the base rate plus a better selling price from someone.

Putting money down simply reduces the size of the payment, but doesn't change the total cash outlay for the lease. You may think you're getting a lower payment, but you're simply front-loading the payments.

The other reason to avoid money down on a lease is that you would lose that money if the car is stolen or totaled.

36,860 was the CAP cost.

$2,000 out of pocket to cover first payment and taxes, document fees, plates

Quoting a price of $450 per month in CT - 39 months with 12k per year

Next deal is the same car as the first but with the driver's assist package and upgraded leather package

MSRP 46,685

40,550 CAP cost

Quoting $498 per month in CT - also 39 months with 12k

Residuals on both are 49%.

They are saying numbers expire today.
