Any news on GLS yet? I have a feeling that MB will want to sell more and it could get aggressive, but on the other hand they might be taking a beating on the residuals.

I have an issue with my lease turn in which Im hoping folks might be able to help. This is our 4th MB lease and are turning in a 2015 GL450. In years past the dealers performed the pre turn-in inspection and we never had issues - but now MB Financial makes you use a third party company. My front tires are worn below acceptable depth and they are asking I replace them at $360 each. I called MB Financial and they stand behind the assessment. Any thoughts on how to fight this? You can get a second opinion at a local tire shop, but if they're worn, you're on the hook for the replacement cost.

Go to local tire shop and have equivalent tires replaced. MB is very strict now with tires and even service schedules. It does not matter if you are a loyal customer. By the way, a lot of other manufactures are also doing this. I would try firestone as I recently replaced 2 tires on GL 450 for about $420. Would also consider hancock tires especially if giving back soon as they do not last long. I used firestone as tires will last longer and I had about 8 months before lease return.

Is this truly a CPO vehicle? If so, we do not have the numbers for the MB CPO lease program.

Either way.. pre-owned or CAP, we don't have the numbers. If it's a demo/service loaner, it could be eligible for the new car program.

How does sales tax work on a lease? If I am going with no money down and capitalizing everything is it = to the tax rate multiplied by the negotiated price and then multiple by the 1 minus residual? Then take that number and divide by months in your lease to get the monthly tax? Obviously financing cost will be added to that amount?

Based on your user ID, I'll guess you are in NJ.

NJ taxes the sum of the payments, and collects that amount up front. However, you can choose to add that tax amount back into the cap cost so that it becomes part of the payment - that is our recommendation.

The advantage to doing that is that if the car is stolen or totaled, you won't have to worry about a refund on your pre-paid sales tax (as if Gov. Christie would allow that to happen!).

The disadvantage is that the tax is then subject to the MF.

Just leased a 2017 GLS 450 last Sunday and would like to share some details with you guys. MSRP: $80k, 9% discount, 10k mileage/year, 36 mo, 0.00071 MF, 57% Residual Value, $1095 acquisition fee. The down payment was supposed to be roughly $3k including 1st mo payment, tax, acquisition fee, insurance, etc. However, Mercedes only gave me conditional approval given my credit history, so I had to put another $16k on the next day which decreased the monthly payment by half.

Location: South California.

Hi, wanted give some data points. Looked at an in-stock '17 GLS450 yesterday. Was quoted September residuals 57% for 36mos and 49% for 48mos, both 10k (in Massachusetts). I think the base MF is .00071, both quotes (reverse calculated) seem to be at .001. Didn't question it, wasn't expecting to be given any numbers as my current GLE is 1/2 way thru it's lease term. Dropped in to see the interior color on this specific GLS and my former salesman is now the sales manager.
