I am in TN, zip 37027, looking at a Jaguar XE 25t Premium, which was a "demo" i.e. it has 5000 miles on it. The advertised lease for only this particular vehicle is: a 10,000 mile, 33 month, $259 mo lease with $3995 down, $795 acquisition fee. The MSRP is 40,945. The advertised special does not list a residual value or a cap cost, but it's only for this vehicle. The dealership quoted me: using the MSRP of $40,945 and a Base Cap. Cost $33,945, .60 residual, MF as .00014 and then a 33 month lease pymt of $414.00 (this includes a $550 down payment and the $795 acquisition fee). I am in TN which has a 7% tax rate. My math (which could be incorrect) indicates that this MSRP, with this cap cost, using the .60 residual and the .00014 MF equates to a $320.90 monthly lease pymt. Is my math incorrect?

62% and .00002 are the 33/10 numbers I see.

60% and .00014 are for 36/10

That said, there will certainly be an adjustment to the residual for the miles on the car - figure $.20-25 per mile.

Skip the $3995 down payment; that money would be lost if the car is stolen or totaled. And, add the fees into the selling price. Only cash out of pocket for you should be the first payment and registration costs.

Ask the dealer for the adjusted cap cost - that should help us figure out where the payment should be.

So, confirm the lease term - if they are quoting 33 months, then the MF is marked up (but only a little bit).

Thank you for your feedback. I called this a.m. and confirmed we are talking about a 36 month lease with 10,000 miles. I already told them I was not going to put the $ down up front that I wanted everything spread over the payments. These are the two current offers on the table: both include only $550 down.

Assuming these are both RWD, I show the 36/10 numbers as:

25t Premium - 60% and .00014
35t Premium - 59% and .00014

(remember, the residual value is adjusted downward for the demo miles at a rate of .15-.25/mile - we don't have the exact rate)

Without the mileage adjustment on the residual, and using the prices you've provided, I get the following payments:

25t Premium - $311/mo
35t Premium - $331/mo

Do the adjusted cap numbers from the dealer include all fees and such that you are rolling into the lease payment?

Follow-up: upon further discussions - the sales rep admitted that the sales price he quoted me was not "exact". I attached the document with a screen shot of the #'s they are using, even though I am being told that these #'s are not final, just part of the working computation to get to the current offer of only $550 down on either car and the total monthly pymt of $414 on the 25t or $460 on the 35t. What are your thoughts based on the attachment which is very different than my original question since the adjusted cap #s are not at all what I was told?

Also, separate question: do you have the residual and MF for a 2017 Jaguar XE AWD Premium for 37027?

Could I get 36/10k and 36/12k for 35t RWD and AWD Prestige? Do you see anything different for a 1st Edition? I was told there is also a $1,000 factory rebate. They also said they would only be able to lease 2017 XE until the end of the month. Any truth to that? Does Jaguar provide any additonal dealer incentive for a vehicle that's been on the lot for a long time? For example I know Audi does this for vehicles in stock over 180 days. Thanks!

We have no information on Jaguar incentives.

The current lease programs expire on 8/31; no information as to whether 2017 XE's will be available to lease after that. To me, sounds like a ploy to get you to sign this month.

No information on additional incentives for old inventory.

Do you happen to know which credit score model to they use? Dealer told me banks are using core logic(never heard of) and I am in tier 4 with 667. However my fico 8 are all above 700. Seems wiered to me that chase are not using fico 8 or auto enhanced, what do you think? And any idea what the MF supposed to be for tier 4 on a 25t premium 33/10000?  Is there a possibility for me to bump to tier 1 or 2? Thank you very much!

There is no 25t Premium AWD in the trims I show - all 25t's are RWD.

Yes.. Jaguar has different lease numbers for each trim.

I show .00014 MF and 60% residual for 36/12.
for 33/12, I show .00002 MF and 62% residual
I think they may have quoted you 33/12, as the residual matches.

With the numbers you gave, I get $379/mo.+tax, with the selling price as the adjusted CAP cost. (using the money factor and residual you were quoted). Would need to know the actual adjusted CAP cost and other charges/taxes to check it. Plus, the numbers don't match up with what we show.

Thanks. That was pretty much what I figured, but they did claim they were giving me 36 months/7,500 miles. BTW, I received a similar quote from another retailer. What should the residual be for 36/7.5?

There is no AWD versions of the 25t trims.
