Thought it would be helpful, and I could get some feed back, on the following lease offer on a 2017 Jaguar EX AWD R-Sport for current delivery (selling price including shipping of $342 from mid-west $59,100):

Lease for $791.31/mth 36mths. 12k miles/yr. $3,370.30 total due at signing. (in NY state)

    1st payment $791.31
    DMV $300.00
    Sales Tax $2,278.99
    Total $3,370.30

    Residual Value 57% ($33,492)
    Money factor .00062
    Acquisition fee $795 (capitalized)

Figures as of 6/15/15 in NY State. Hope this helps. Numbers look correct?

    Thanks

Reversing the residual to get an MSRP of $58,758, I get $769/mo. Close, but something doesn't add up. I would confirm both the MSRP and the adjusted cap cost of this offer.

I am interested in a 36/10 lease for a 2017 XE R-Sport RWD. The reported money factor on this forum was 0.00067. However, my dealer quoted an MF of 0.00167, and said it was the "A-tier Jaguar rate on XE R-sport" from Jaguar Financial. He denies he is marking up the rate.

Where do the rates that are reported here come from? Where should I go, or ask my dealer to look, to get those rates?

    59% and .00067.

We can't reveal our sources, but what incentive do we have to provide the wrong information?

What incentive does the dealer have?

In the information I have, it specifically says "maximum allowable markup is .00100 over the published program rate". Coincidence, wouldn't you say?

The dealer knows what the base rate is - you don't negotiate it. You politely tell them you won't sign a deal with an inflated rate, then contact another dealer. Only takes one to meet your numbers.

    MSRP $55,635

Quoted residual is $30,599.25 (which is right on the money at 55%)

After taxes (calculated on sales price in my state) and fees (to $58,516), less down payment ($5k), the net capitalized cost is $53,516

With the 0.00075MF that gives me $648.19/mo

    Is that correct?

With adjusted cap of $53,516 and .00075 MF, I get $650.70.

I agree to the penny on the $649.90 above, so must be some small typo in the 2nd deal on someone's part.

Verify the actual adjusted CAP cost with the dealer, along with the money factor. There will be a difference in the numbers, or charges not accounted for.

Received a quote on a 2017 Jaguar XE AWD R-Sport at an MSRP of $55,200. It is for 36mo/15k a year with nothing down. Quote I received was $819 a month. How does that look?

Seems like these do not lease well. I appreciate your insights.

We'd need to know the negotiated price or the adjusted cap cost in order to figure the payment.

Well after reviewing the XF and XE numbers, I seem to have come across a "six of one, a half dozen of the other" situation. The MSRP delta between my 2017 XE configuration and my 2016 XF configuration is around $10,000. Both have a 36 month residual value of 55%, meaning that the 'extra rent' due on the 2016XF is only $4,500. Given the LRF of 0.00001 for the 2016XF, that equates to less than a $1 a month in finance charges, compared to the .00066 rate on the 2017XE which results in around $50 a month in finance charges. $50 a month delta over 36 months equates to another $1,800 in savings towards the XF, bringing the payment delta down to just $2,700. Given that the 2017 XE has just been released, dealers may be unwilling to come down much from sticker, but with the 2017 XF on the horizon, dealers might be willing to move on the 2016XF models. If I could get an 2016 XF say $2.5-3K under sticker (assuming dealers hold the line on being close to the 2017 XE sticker), then it could be pretty a wash in monthly payments between the 2017 XE and the 2016 XF even though the XF stickers at around $10K more!

It looks like the 39 mo lease would end up being more costly with that numbers. Is it true that there's also a 48 month lease term? If so, could I please get the MF and residual for it for both 7.5k and 10k miles? Trying to figure out which is the most cost effective term lease for the XE.

    So would we

Perhaps tomorrow, if we're lucky. Otherwise, not until next week.

Nice to see the program dropping payments a little. It's not much but, by my math, the XE in this config is $6ish cheaper than in May or Jun. Residual down but money factor is lower as well. I get something around $708 on an r-sport, 36/10, with an MSRP of $56,483 and a slim discount of around $1000. I still think the lease program sucks for these cars. A lot of cars in this price range can be leased for less. New / hot model so to be expected I guess.

For the curious my math looks like:
(I'm in Florida so 7% tax)

    Jaguar XE R-Sport (Jul) 36/10
    MF 0.00026
    RV 57%
    Term 36
    MSRP $56,483.00
    Neg. Price $55,353.34
    Fees $1,500.00
    Adj Cap Cost $56,853.34
    Residual $32,195.31
    Depreciation $24,658.03
    Dep Payment $684.95
    Int Paymnet $23.15
    Payment W/O Tax $708.10
    Payment W/ Tax $757.66

    Jaguar XE R-Sport (May/Jun) 36/10
    MF 0.00067
    RV 59%
    Term 36
    MSRP $56,483.00
    Neg. Price $55,353.34
    Fees $1,500.00
    Adj Cap Cost $56,853.34
    Residual $33,324.97
    Depreciation $23,528.37
    Dep Payment $653.57
    Int Paymnet $60.42
    Payment W/O Tax $713.99
    Payment W/ Tax $763.96

@mparr1708 - I'd agree with you ... once the bloom is off the rose (or words to that effect) and the early adopters have all gotten the XE of their dreams, and dealer inventory gets a bit more full, then I'd expect the lease numbers to get a bit better.

Going up against the A4 and 3-series is a battle; at some point, Jaguar will have to get competitive.

I would like to lease a 35T AWD premium with cold weather and vision packages - msrp of around 48.5k.

    36 months - 12k miles

i am not a car or numbers person.

what would a decent lease payment be with little due at inception? Maybe 1.5k

    .00088 MF and 59% residual.

To calculate a payment we need a proposed selling price for the car.

State and tax rate would help, too.

Even if you aren't a numbers person, we need numbers to give numbers. ;)

After speaking with the sales guy, I wrote down the following numbers:

    58% residual
    money .00036
    msrp 48.5k - sale price - 47k
    tax $1500

After you give me an idea - what can I push to get a better lease?

    i appreciate the help!!

If those numbers are accurate, $552/mo.+tax

I'm being told by some Lessing brokers that the car is not moving despite good demand, as Jaguar is not negotiating very much.  They are saying there's lots of inventory.  I'm being advised to wait a few months to see if Jaguar gets realistic snd starts wanting to move the cars.

    thoughts?

I think that is good advice. Early adopters usually pay a premium price

When do you think Jag will start being a little more negotiatable?  1, 2, 3 months?

When do you think Jag will start being a little more negotiatable?  1, 2, 3 months?

When inventory starts to grow at the dealers, they will be more willing to come down on price.

Don't know how long that will take; is Jaguar deliberately restricting inventory to help keep prices up?

Jaguar does seem to have a bit of a hit on their hands; I imagine they want to be sure not to kill the golden goose by flooding the market with inventory.
