Assuming RWD

12K numbers:
24 - .00177 and 60%
33 - .00023 and 58%
36 - .00035 and 56%
39 - .00047 and 56%

Add 1% for 10K.

Dealer can mark up the MF for extra profit.

Are you paying the taxes and fees up front, or adding them into the lease payment?

Taxes will be added to lease payment. $465 per month includes taxes as well.

Ask the dealer for the adjusted cap cost - and, how they got to that number from the selling price they quoted you.

I have a similar offer on a $37,500 MSRP 25t, Sp=35,500, mf=.0009, residual=57%, 39 months, 10K mileage, $1500 total due at drive-off , including taxes, fees for $447 in California. Seems too high for a 37.5K car. For some reason, this dealer is very secretive about adjusted cap cost. Why is this, and how do you argue with these guys on money factor and cap cost?

They hide information, so they can charge more.

"Hey, ***-**le, answer my questions, or I'm out of here!"

That's how I do it. By the time I say that, pretty sure that I'm not buying a car from them, anyway.

The calculations match up. We don't track selling prices. But, given that sale price, doesn't look like they are taking advantage of you elsewhere.

39/15: .00010 MF and 50% residual

Make sure they disclose the money factor. Jaguar dealers can mark up the rate for extra profit.

But, the money factor has dropped to near zero.

You have to look at the big picture (meaning: the payment)

There are way too many options on months, models, and mileage on these! Trying to get a feel for where the sweet spot is in pricing and amenities.

Let's go with 12k and 33/36/39 months for each of the following:

XE 25t Premium RWD
XE 25t Prestige RWD

XE 35t Premium RWD
XE 35t R-Sport RWD

XE 35t Premium AWD
XE 35t R-Sport AWD

All these years I have never leased, so I'm going to give it a try. I assume that arming yourself with these numbers helps greatly with this process. I'm looking at an XE 20d Premium AWD or RWD. I would imagine I would like to lease for 36 or 39 months and drive 12k a year. I may also look at the gas models but for now just the diesels.

Using the market price as MSRP and the balance as the adjusted cap cost, I get the following payments, with $0 out of pocket, and before tax:

33 months - $729

Looks like the dealer may be marking up the MF on you....
