Hi. Could I get residual and MF for a 2017 Explorer Sport 12/36? And also the same for 2018 model. This is in NY zip 14214. Which model year would I get a better lease on? I am assuming 2017...

Also what are the lease cash offers? Is this the same as incentive? Sorry trying to understand how this works. If there is 2000 dollars lease cash for example, does that mean the dealer is still profitable up to 2,000 below invoice?

For example if invoice for the 2017 sport is $43,315 and there is 2,000 lease cash, am I to assume the true cost to the dealer was 41,315 and negotiate based off of that?

2018 Explorer lease thread is here:

At the moment, the 2017's will lease better.

We don’t track pricing – use the “make / model / year” tabs at the top of the page to link to the Edmunds price tools.

And, the concept of "invoice" is a bit murky, as that is likely not the price the dealer paid for the vehicle. Build the $3500 lease cash into whatever price offer you give to the dealer.

So they offered me 568/month with just 500 dollars and first payment due. 36/12. This included taxes in NY. This was on a sport with some extra packages MSRP 52000. Is this good? I feel like it was a pretty good deal but this was the first offer and I can't believe they would offer a good deal as first offer. They didn't seem willing to budge any further...

They like wouldn't give me that number.. and they wouldn't let me keep the print out either. I mean if you multiply 568x36mo = 20448. Residual is 51% of 52000 so 26520. If you add that together I get total cap around 47k. Taxes would be a little more than 2000 so that puts the actual price below 45k? Am u

Can I get the MF and Residual for the 2017 Ford Explorer Sport in CA? 36mos/15k.
    The 1st dealer is quoting me w 52% for 12k, 51% for 15k . The 2nd  says
    15k is 49% w the 401a package & 12k adds 2% so it’s 51%
Id hate to drive to PU the car from the 1st dealer w better price and have the deal change.
    No drive off & $608 including tax 36/15 w MSRP $52,705.
Looks like a Great deal to me

    49% and .50% for 36/15
$3500 lease cash; there must be additional incentives we don't know about.

How much is due from you at signing?

I can't make the dealer numbers work. With the supplied MSRP and net cap cost, I get $608/mo - before tax.

Your quote looks pretty good, by comparison.

This is the big Ford dealer on the 405 just north of LAX, right?

This deal is zero due at signing. I had a $750 coupon emailed to me for registering w Ford. They found a better one in their list of coupons for 1250 and gave me that one instead of the 750. So that’s $3500 plus the $1250. I’ll attached the quote that’s 0 Down 15k and $623 including tax. 2 scenarios they sent - ExplorerSport MSRP $52,705-1st 12,000 miles per year with a 52% residual $0 down monthly payment including taxes +fees is $608.04, 2nd is 15,000 miles per year 51% residual $0 down monthly payment including taxes+fees is $623.69. - this dealers out in Riverside/Norco, yet I see airport marina too, huh?

The numbers work. The Gross CAP includes the $645 acquisition fee added to the sell price.
Just $3870 of the $4750 goes to CAP reduction, as the rest goes to the items listed in the right hand column.

The only thing to really determine is if the $2300 discount is fair. Seems skimpy to me, but I don't have any experience shopping for Fords.

My apologies if this question was asked in earlier threads - there are 25 pages of communications and I'm too lazy to review all of them. LOL.

Would you happen to know the MF and residual value on a 2017 Ford Explorer XLT, 2017 Ford Explorer Limited and 2017 Ford Explorer Sport in NY and NJ for 36 months with 15k per year? Maybe they're all the same.

    Hi All,

I am working through some lease options in Northern New Jersey for a 2017 Ford Explorer lease. I am new to leasing so was hoping for insight and guidance. So far:
    the MSRP is $42,660
    Net Sales price: $35,50462
they will take my trade-in (2007 Nissan Xterra w/ $130k miles) for $3,500
    Monthly lease payment: $360/month
    36 months
    12k miles/year
The $3500 trade-in value will cover everything (taxes etc.) except the 1st month payment which is the only up front out of pocket expense.

I do not have the itemized break-down of what is being paid by the $3500 trade-in, I am just told it is everything except the 1st month payment and I should not expect a tax bill, motor vehicle fees etc beyond

does this seem like a fair deal? and is there anything else i should be asking/looking for?

I would absolutely get an itemization of that $3500 before signing. Who knows what junk fees might exist in there.

    A few things to consider:

    1. We recommend only fronting the first payment and DMV costs; roll all taxes and fees into the lease payment. That way, the money won't be lost if the car is stolen or totaled (you think Gov Christie will refund you your pre-paid tax?). Take the balance of the $3500 and have the dealer cut you a check.
    2. What trim level is this for?

Thanks for the feedback, much appreciated. Any fees in particular that I should be on the look out for?

This is an XLT trim level with the 202a package, bucket seats and BLIS package

Looks like it might be a pretty good deal.

Get an itemization of everything that goes into the price and the amounts. Treat it as if you were buying the car, and question anything that doesn't make sense.

Got this deal yesterday. 2017 Xlt with 202a with blis a d 4 wheel drive for 399 including tax with 3000 drive off which included first month payment and all the fees. Do you think it was a good deal? Dealers asking price was 45k initially.

$3000 plus almost $4K in trade equity? That's a lot of up front cash.

I think the $3875 is the rebate. No trade

Curious if these numbers seem like a solid deal for Hartford County, CT (06111).

2017 Ford Explorer XLT AWD w/ 202A package
    MSRP: 41,550
    Sale Price: 39,482
    Rebate: 5,000
    Trade-in: 2,000
Adj Cap Cost: $33,127 after lease acquisition fee
    1.5% MF
    51% residual

Lease of 10,500 miles per year. 36 month lease.

    $440/mo + $48 property tax ($488 total all in)

That seems a little high to me, but it was their first offer, and not sure what other numbers, etc. I should be paying attention to to determine if this is good or not. I have gotten other offers from other dealers, and all seem to be about the same (give or take $20/month or so)

    thanks!

We don't have the numbers for CT, so the lease cash and MF could be correct for your region.

But, I get $389/mo using those numbers and assuming 6.35% sales tax.

Ask the dealer for a print out of their lease calculations.

Ford residuals are national. Only APR and incentives are regional.
