Plan is to pay all fees at signing. I'd need to go back and ask if what fee are included.  On the worksheet I was given it just listed the 44,391 first, then rebates, fees etc. had amounts for 0 down =565, 5000 down= 419, 2500 down= 492.

I see what the problem is. They rolled up all fees into the cap cost + they have a 3%MF. I assume the MF is negotiable?
Just about the whole country has 0.25% APR, but Hawaii could be higher, or the dealer could be marking it up, due to lack of competition. We don't have the actual numbers for Hawaii.
So I went to another dealer and yes the MF is .25. So here is what was negotiated on an XLT MSRP $41,285, Net Cap $36,585. $0 Down, All fees up front. Due at signing $1800. $407 monthly. Is this a good deal?

  • I am looking at a 2017 Explorer Sport. MSRP is 46k but their online price is $39,815. They said money factor is .25% and residual is 53%? What should I expect my payments to be? I am located in Virginia.

Those numbers are correct for 36/15.

If that price is good for a lease (some incentives are for purchase only), then $435/mo, assuming all other costs are paid upfront.

  • Need some help...about to go to the dealer in Southern California zip 91325. Here is the quote I have now. Should I pull the trigger? Credit Score is 735

Here is a quote on an Explorer Sport
    MSRP 46,300
Selling price 44,000 (400 below factory invoice)
    Residual 55% of MSRP
    10.5K miles per year
    1,500 Start up fees
36 month lease (35 payments left)
    470.32 Per Month (plus Tax)
    511.47 (including tax)
  • Dallas, TX.

    XLT
    MSRP 40,495
We're at 35,456 Cap cost already. Trying to negotiate down.
They keep wanting to steer direction away from price and to payments.
    dont want to pay TT&T
For 39 months, 39,000 miles lease.
With current incentives, what's reasonable to expect? $375 too aggressive?
im thinking too end should be $399.
    Thoughts?

If I deduct the lease cash, I'm within $3/mo. of that number, using the 55% residual.

Is that the adjusted CAP cost, including tax, etc?

I get $355/mo, just using that number, but that doesn't include tax, fees, etc. (unless it does).

    Ford residuals adjust quarterly.

The other programs update monthly, but that doesn't necessarily mean they have to change.

Hey! Would like to know the residual and money factor on a 2017 Ford Explorer Limited V-6 AWD with the 300A package. MSRP is $47,430, sale price is $43,070. Any chance you'd be able to tell me what a reasonable payment would be with $0 down, 36 months, 12,000 miles per year. This is in Connecticut. Thanks!!

    51% and .25%. $2250 lease cash.

If the sale price is the cap cost, I get a payment of $531/mo before tax.

That assumes you pay all fees and such at signing.

What is the money factor and residual for a 36 month, 15k miles per year lease? If I decide I need more miles, what is the cost per mile up front compared to at lease end?

Ford actually has mileage tiers every 1500/yr.

    For 16.5K/yr, subtract 1%
    For 18K/yr, subtract 2%

    36/10.5 on the 2017 Sport is 55% and .25

Using the MSRP and calculate the adjusted cap cost as: selling price + tax + capped fee, I get a payment of $495/mo.

Ask the dealer what cap cost they are using to get the $539/mo payment. Might be something hidden in there - acquisition fee, perhaps?
