    $899 doc fee. :o

    Welcome to Florida!

Crazy and another dealer had the doc fee at $1199, acquisition at $925, inception $899! I thought the max was $1000 on the doc. The sales rep actually had the audacity to tell us that you cannot negotiate the sales price on a lease, MSRP is what you get....lol. South Florida living in Miami. Big thanks to this forum and those who reply!

    Wait, what?

What is the difference between the doc fee and the inception fee?

The acquisition fee is set by BMWFS and can't be altered. The other two are likely dealer initiated.

Lots of BMW dealers to choose from - find one willing to play ball with the numbers.

Information is power - the more you have, the less they can pull the wool over your eyes.

    Hi All,

This is an offer I have for a 2017 BMW x1 xDrive28i- Cold weather package, premium package, driver assistance, and navigation. Does this look like a good deal? If not- any suggestion as to where I could find some room to negotiate down would be so helpful. Located in Massachusetts, if that info is needed.

    Thank you!

It's hard to make those numbers add up.

But, here goes.. With that NET cap, they are using about $2205 of the $5500 for CAP reduction. Another $120 for CAP reduction tax, $425 (est) first payment, $2700 security deposit (6 MSDs). That still leaves the $575 of fees at the top, unpaid.

.00092 MF (with 6 MSDs) and 60% residual.

That gives me a payment of $405/mo.+tax, or about $430/mo.

It's a decent deal. $395 dealer fee and $249 service contract look like padding.

I'd rather do it with just $3500 due at signing ($3000 of MSDs), and a payment of $497.mo.

There is a $1500 incentive on the 2017 X1, this month. (saw it on the BMWUSA website)
Destination should always be part of the selling price.
    $649 dealer fee? shewww

Your negotiated price is good, but not with a $649 fee.
Acquisition fee is $925, so you'll have to factor that in.
$1500 more off for the incentive.
    .00134 MF and 58% residual for 36/15.

I am looking at 36/10. any change to MF or residual?

With those numbers above I came out with a lower payment than the dealer quoted using the lease guide calculator.

61% residual, no change to MF.

Confirm the adjusted cap cost with the dealer.

And, lease calculators on-line sometimes make assumptions we know nothing about.

    Hi,

Can you please provide the current MF and RV for a 2017 xDrive X1 for 36 months/12k miles in the greater Boston area? Think the MSRP would be about 41,420 with cold weather package, M sport package and Harmon Kardon stereo.

    Thanks!

Car is a demo has 3500 miles on it, comes with warranty like new. No msd. Including New York tax (8.875) , plate transfer all fees and acquisition: 4000 down, 350 a month. What do you think?

Leaving the taxes, fees, miles and such to the side, those prices and numbers give me a payment of $281/mo.

The 3500 miles will reduce the residual by $875 (.25 per mile), and the payment goes to $304/mo.

If the $4K up front covers all your taxes and fees (and, I'm guessing, the $1200 of remaining lease payments), then I don't see how they get to $350/mo.

Ask the dealer for the adjusted cap cost - if higher than the $35K you've given us, find out what's been added.

And, if something has been added, get a specific breakdown of what the $4000 at signing covers.

Thanks for the reply.. The 4K does cover all the taxes, fees, and the $1200 remaining. Is the $350 not right on what they offered? Or it's too low?

$350 is too high, based on the numbers given. Ask for the adjusted cap cost. That should tell us a lot.

I wanted to get your thoughts on the below:

    2017 BMW X1 x28i
Jet Black / Black Dakota Leather
Cold Weather Pkg, Luxury Package, Premium Package, Technology Package
    MSRP $44,645
Selling Price $42,190 (invoice, including $1,000 market credit and all dealer fees)

    LEASE offer
    3yr/10k mile
    61% Residual
    MF=0.00097 (assumes $3,500 security deposit)
    Drive off: $6,717.83 = sec deposit ($3,500) + 1st payment + State Sales Tax (NY, $1,532.78) + State DMV Fee ($306) + BMW Ban Fee ($925)
    Monthly Payment = $454

    Thanks so much.

The $42,190 is evidently before adjusting for the $1000 market credit.
    $41,190 CAP = $454/mo.
It's a decent deal. 5.5% off MSRP, and base money factor.

I would do one of two things:
    a) Roll the sales tax into the lease. This will make the payment $498/mo. That won't change your MSDs, but will knock about $1500 off your upfront money.
    b) Ask them to take another $150 off the price, which will drop your payment just below $450, and would require $350 less for MSDs. (7 X $450). Alternatively, you could make a $150 CAP cost reduction, but I like the idea of them giving you more off.

My dealer told me in April the residual goes to 58% with 36 months/10K. Is it true? He even showed me a spreadsheet listed all of these and from BMW of North America and is effective from April 3-May 1.

I am in North Carolina and the sales tax is 7%. So far didn't get any decent deal.

    58% is the 36/15 residual; 36/10 is 61%.

Thank you. Want to know your thoughts on my current deal and how should I tweak it?

    MSRP 44,385
    Sales Price: 41,385
Aftermarkets: 933 (the dealer said they cannot totally remove these but can provide me extra money off)

    Residual: 61%
Money factor: 0.00147 before I put 7 MSDs upfront

    7 MSDs: 4,200
    1st payment: 586.65
    Upfront Charges: 126
    Due on delivery: 4,912.65
    Monthly payment: 586.65

I know it is obviously not a decent deal but want to know where to focus more to negotiate.
In NC and sales tax is 7%.

The "aftermarkets" include the $925 acquisition fee. Not much they can do about that.
With a base MF of .00146, and .00097 MF after the MSD reduction, I get $491/mo.+tax.
    $586 seems like too much.

Verify the actual money factor being used, after reduction for the MSDs. It should be .00097
I'll guess they are marking it up.
Make sure they are using the 61% residual

Thanks. Got another deal also looks not good.

    MSRP: 42,690
    Discount: 3,200
    Tint and prot: 698
    Total: 40,188

    Money Factor: 0.00147
    With 7 MSDs upfront
    Monthly: 535
    Fee at Inception: 1,407.28
Drive off fee including MSDs: 5,150

I am starting to think something wrong here because I tried to negotiate on the sale price or provide MSDs but seems I got almost the same monthly payment....

They are marking up the rate the maximum, then deducting for the MSDs. (actually, the maximum markup minus the MSDs should be .00137)
Good discount, but offsetting that with overpriced tint.
