Thank you! That is a little surprising. I got an initial quote for about 8% off MSRP plus $1,000 rebate and I am sure they can do better than that.

The lease on my mother's 2014 528i M Sport is almost up, and her plan is to downsize into something a bit smaller and easier to get in and out of. So, it looks like an X1 will be her next BMW.

This is the first offer from a dealer in Alabama (we live in Mississippi):

    2017 X1 sDrive 2.8i 36 month/10k year lease
    MSRP: $40,590
Cap Cost: $36,590 ($4k dealer discount)
    Lease Credit: $1000
    Net Cap Cost: $35,950
    $599 Doc Fee
$925 Acquisition Fee (rolled into lease)
    Money Factor: .00151
    61% Residual
    5% State Sales Tax
    No additional cap cost reduction

    Monthly Payment (including tax): $440.01
Total drive off: $1089.01 (First months payment + Doc Fee +$50 in upfront taxes)

Unfortunately she isn't eligible for any other discounts, such as USAA, etc. I still think their initial offer is pretty decent, as the total discount with the lease credit is just over 11% off of MSRP. I also like the fact of no markup on the money factor. I am going to try for a little more of a discount to offset the ridiculous doc fee, but I still believe this is a good deal overall in the existing BMW lease climate.

All looks good, but why not roll the doc fee into the lease payment as well? Drive off is cut in half, and the payment only goes up about $15-20/mo

Also, does the purchase of a demo vehicle (less than 5k miles) affect the MF and residual calculation?

Also, does the purchase of a demo vehicle (less than 5k miles) affect the MF and residual calculation?

The residual is knocked down .25/mile for each mile under 5000. Over 5000, then there is a residual adjustment, plus the per mile deduct.

We show a $1000 lease incentive, but check with the dealer.
BMW seems to be adding incentives, mid-month, but we don't have the details

BMW X1 Residual, MF, and Incentives.

I asked a series of questions this time last month. I'm back in the hunt. It appears that the only difference is the .00152 vs .00151 from last month. Is that the case?

Also, I see where a 30 month lease is available. I wasn't aware. With the different residuals, will the 36 month still offer the lowest payment?

    Thank you.

    .00152 MF and 58% residual for 36/15.

30 month residuals are just 3% higher. 36 months will be less.

We don't have any other info on BMW incentives, but have seen anecdotal evidence of mid-month additions. So, go in with an open mind. 0%/72 month financing on service loaners was just announced, this past week.

I appreciate that you don't have a crystal ball, but do you think that there will be a rate or residual change for the 2017 X1 for October? I really wanted to work on this, but Hurricane Irma has been all consuming. Thanks for your input.

My guess - and guesses are three for a nickel- is that there are not likely to be any big changes to either MF or residual, next month.

Talking to a dealer on a deal for a gently used 2017 which is being used as a loaner. Are the MF / Residuals on 2017 demos / loaners that same as for the new 2017s? If not what would it be for a 10k lease.

Also does the 3 year maintenance plan that comes with new cars transfer over?

There will be an adjusted to the residual for the miles on the car - how many miles does it have?

Deduct an additional $1000 from the calculated residual to account for the miles.

Hello, just wanted to check if this was a good deal for a previous loaner with 3500 miles

    36 months/36000 miles
MSRP is $44,495 selling at $41,000.
    Residual is 60% of MSRP,
    MF is .00152
BMW gives you $1,000 cash down which is already included
doc fee of $172.15 and whatever IN plate fees would be.
IN has an excise tax that caps out at $600. no more than $1,500 due at signing
    IN lease 36 months/36,000 miles
    $0 cap cost reduction

Sorry some of the information are not specific but I could get more if needed

What is the adjusted cap cost, with taxes and fees added in?

The residual value will be adjusted by $875 to account for the miles.

Almost 8% off sticker - do you know how much of a discount they are offering on a "new" unit without the loaner miles?

And, last question, what payment did the dealer quote you?

@ohwellreuel Selling price seems kind of high for a service loaner.

For a comparison, bought an X3 service loaner last month with 4400 miles. Selling price was about 15% off MSRP, before rebates.

What is the adjusted cap cost? My guess is that the due at signing amounts are not enough to cover the up front costs - $925 acquisition fee, sales tax on full selling price, DMV costs, first payment.

I confirm the MF and residual value.

I am not sure if I did the math right. This is what I got:
1st model) M Sport package: $499/month with 2500 3000 due at signing (corrected the down payment)
    adjusted cap cost = $36715 ($40715 (sale price) - $3000 (cash) - $1000 (rebate))

2nd model) xLine Premium package: $499/month with $2974 due at signing
    adjusted cap cost = $36821 ($40795 (sale price) - $2974 (down) - $1000 (rebate))

    Thanks!

Would like to check if these are good deal for leasing 2017 X1 xDrive
    Registered state: Maryland
    36 months
    10k miles per year
Acquisition Fee included in lease: $925
    Doc fee: $300
    Residual is 0.61
    MF is .00152
    $1000 rebate

    Dealer quoted:
1st model) M Sport package: $499/month with 2500 due at signing
MSRP is $44290 selling at $40715

2nd model) xLine Premium package: $499/month with $2974 due at signing
MSRP is $44445 selling at $40795

    Thanks a lot!

    Thanks!
You also have to add in any taxes or fees that are not covered by the up front cash.

    1) I get $457/mo with the supplied MSRP and adjusted cap
    2) I get $458/mo with the supplied MSRP and adjusted cap

Something seems off ... you sure the dealer is using the base MF of .00152?

There are only 4 numbers used in the calculation of a lease payment:

    1. MSRP
    2. Adjusted cap cost
    3. Money Factor
    4. Residual Value

    (1) and (4) are fixed, so only (2) or (3) can affect the lease payment. Confirm the numbers the dealer is using.
