I'm not sure how to calculate the lease payments using the MF and residual but I just received two quotes on the following cars: 2017 Infiniti Q60 3.0t AWD MSRP $51,040 with $3,000 out of pocket 39 month lease 10K miles per year for $479 month. 2017 Q60 3.0t AWD MSRP $47,440 with $2,500 out of pocket 39 month lease with 10K miles per year $449 a month. I am from New York and I was wondering if these numbers seemed about right or could I get a better deal?

We need to know the adjusted cap cost for both cars before we can evaluate the offers you were given.

A friend in Chicago is leasing a 2017 Q60 2.0t Premium AWD MSRP $47,840. I am adjusting his lease to fit your scenario. With $2,500 out of pocket, his 39 month lease with 10K miles per year payment would be 316.95 per month. (.00003 mf & 49% residual) 

I can back out taxes & fees if necessary but NY & my friend’s jurisdcition in Chicago appear to have fairly similar taxes & fees. This deal was “booked” earlier this week when the dealer was trying to hit a specific threshold before a manufacturer/dealer incentive expired. I can probably forward you the dealer’s lease screenshot if necessary showing a 36,072 sale price. This represents an 11,767/24.6% discount off of the MSRP.

Also I'm confused with certain  money factors. For example when it's.      .00003 what exactly does it mean? Isn't the APR supposed to be MF x 2400?

Yes, that is the correct conversion ... equal to .072% APR (less than 1/10 of 1%) - almost free money.

As an example, the MF on my Jetta lease is .00005 - the total amount of interest I am paying over a 36 month lease is just over $50.

Granted, the Q60 is more expensive than a Jetta, so maybe you're looking at $100 rent charge ....

I got quoted for 51% residual and .00003 MF and would like to check the accuracy of those numbers and if you think they're negotiable, at least the residual. Original MSRP of the vehicle is $56455 and the cap cost that I was quoted is $47886. Thanks again!

That is the best money factor that you’re going to get  without doing multiple security deposits or a one pay lease, which is probably not even offered by Infiniti. The residual also is not negotiable as that is set by the manufacturer. The only thing you can negotiate is the cost.  If you really try, you might be able to get them down to a 25% discount off of MSRP which should be about 42,300 or so. I have seen dealers offer that type of discount on these cars due to the availability of 4150 in unadvertisd lease cash as well as as 6% of the (?base?) msrp that the dealer gets back from the manufacturer if the hit their quarterly numbers. That still leaves them in the hole but I suppose they will take that hit on a limited number of units in order to achieve their numbers and the manufacturer cash back on the rest of the units as well.

Just to clarify what Michaell is daying, the location of the dealer from where the car is leased is inconsequential; it is the jurisdiction where the car is registered that determines how much tax you pay. Should you register the car in Va. (or in MD for that matter), you will pay roughly $20 more per month in additional sales tax.

I think this is for 2018. I am asking for 2017. I was guessing .00003 MF and either 50 or 51% residual on RWD but was not sure on residual.

Thanks for the information!! It really helps. I've contacted various delearships asking them to get closer to 25% off MSRP since they're at about 15% each. Definitely not going to pull the trigger on a 2017 if the numbers aren't great. If not I migh as well wait for the 2018s w a higher residual value and work a deal there. I appreciate the input of everyone here. It really helps!

I was able to work out a LEASE deal @ almost 22% off MSRP. That depends on the dealership and how much they're willing to cut their profits to achieve quarterly numbers etc
