Jeanne Crain played "Peg Phillips". Also starring Mickey Rooney, Jr, whose other major accomplishment was being a Mouseketeer. He married a Playboy Bunny and later became an evangelical minister. He certainly covered all the bases.
I didn't see the whole movie. But I remember that my mom sat down to watch TV with us and we were all rooting for the punks to get hurt! My dad was still recovering from a back injury after an accident.
A time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing.

Just a spectacular car. I always preferred the '67 but have to admit this one, the last of the body-on-frame versions with the almost-wraparound windshield, sure looks fabulous. Only negative is that the interior, while gorgeous, is black, a no-no on any convertible.
That's because it is an Alfa. A Junior Zagato. Neat little car and very rare but I would be hard-pressed to love a vehicle that was called a "Junior" anything....

Yep, that's a 1973 Alfa-Romeo 1600 Junior Zagato and FWIW, I'm a "junior!"
Imperial from Chrysler. Maybe a 1963? I can see Mr Drysdale, except his wasn't a convert.
1966 Chrysler Crown Imperial.
I couldn't remember the rear of those cars. The front and sides are so elegant because everything is understated and serves a purpose. Even the wheel covers are perfect. The rear is fitting but not as simple as the rest of the car. I found the same picture if folks want more views or to purchase.
I'm guessing DB9, but I have a feeling you'll tell me it is one of any number of slight variants.
It is a 2005 Aston-Martin DB-9 Vantage I saw one at a car show recently in the same color and thought it was one of the best looking cars I'd ever seen, it reminded me a bit of the E-Type, it's that good-looking.

They are getiing down into the "somewhat affordable" range... if you are brave enough.
'11 GMC Sierra 1500; '98 Alfa 156 2.0TS; '08 Maser QP; '67 Coronet R/T; '13 Fiat 500c; '20 S90 T6; '22 MB Sprinter 2500 4x4 diesel; '97 Suzuki R Wagon; '96 Opel Astra; '11 Mini Cooper S
On page 2 of the online doc, the chart shows that a DeSoto DeLuxe was available as either a 2 door coupe or 2 door club coupe. No reference to the Andy Business coupe.
On page 4, the illustration of the "coupe" is shown to be the same as your mystery car pic.
A time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing.
I always thought that late 40's early 50's Mopar 3 window coupe had odd proportions, but honestly, I guess it is function over form for a change. Did anyone besides Kaiser have a hatchback business coupe around the turn of that decade?
I think Mopar ran that shade of blue, or something very similar, into the mid 50's. Decent color to me.
Fair enough. Page 2 indicates either a coupe or club coupe for 1947 DeLuxe models. There is convertible coupe listed in the Custom line.
Perhaps Desoto didn't call theirs a "business" coupe but three passenger two-doors with trunks big enough to carry a dead horse were generally known by that term in that era.

Yes! DeSoto called that body type a "coupe." I accept your apology. Thank you for stopping the dead horse beat down!

Okay, we've established that you can read, now how about model, model year or body type?
Looks like one of those "businessman's coupe" they use to sell with little doors going into the trunk.
Better late than never, I guess. Apparently you must be "of a certain age" to recall that term.
Nah--it's part of my work. I have to do a lot of research on old cars. In the case of hoarders who left 100 of them out in the back 40, I need to photograph and accurately identify them.
The idea of the "businessman's coupe" was that he was a traveling salesman, and put his "wares" in the trunk. Having little doors in the back behind the driver's seat allowed him to access those items that he probably loaded up first at the start of his day.
That somewhat battered car looks like a Facel Vega Excellence - the first version from abut 1958-62 had those fins but they trimmed them a bit afterwards.
Mechanically the engine would be Chrysler but I'm guessing that would be the least of the problems that anyone restoring this would face....

I'm surprised an engine can fit under that hood
It's not a very big engine (1600cc)>

Incomplete answer, it's what's called a "Business Coupe". The extended trunk was for sales guys to carry wares and samples.

Oddly enough, there was a plan to badge-engineering the Excellence as a Packard and sell it through S-P dealerships.
