That's a Fox, made and sold in Brazil, among other places.

The Gol is even cheaper there, though:

    image

They even make a sub-1000cc model for Brazil's popular Mille segment.

Is the Gol sold outside of Brazil, I don't think they have it in Europe?

I think it's only made in Brazil.

VW do Brasil had to fight the parent company to go out on their own (one last time, supposedly). It's sold in most of South American, but I don't think it made it to Europe as a regular production car.

Is that a really old Celica, from the mid 70s?

Saw a pic of a rally car that looked sort of like that.

Toyota Cressida 1977/80 - at least thats when they sold it here....
  • michaellnomichaellno Member Posts: 4,120
I saw one on the highway here in Denver a year or two ago. Tiny thing with Mexican plates.
  • ateixeiraateixeira Member Posts: 72,587
    Cressida, really?

That car looks tiny. Funny how much Toyota cars have grown. That was their flagship back then, so it would be the rough equivalent of an Avalon today, which is twice as big! :surprise:
  • bumpybumpy Member Posts: 4,425
Yep, it's a Cressida, and not quite as tiny as it might look in that picture.

I have never seen a 2-door Cressida before.

    Ginetta G32, circa 1990
  • magnettemagnette Member Posts: 4,234
I've never seen a 2-door Cressida before either - we only got the 4-door. I still see one every couple of weeks, in everyday use, a couple of miles from here, but it's the only one I've seen for years.

Hee hee, that looks like a Fiero kit car. There are so many of those, that's what I was thinking! :D
  • andys120andys120 Member Posts: 23,674
It does look like a Fiero kit but Ginettas have the reputation of being first class little sports cars, something no one ever accused a Fiero of. :P

French Ford Vedette - one of the later ones, they changed the design in late 1951. The red car is probably a Renault Caravelle and there are two Citroens (DS/ID and Traction Avant 11/15CV) while I think the light in the r/hand corner of the picture may be a Peugeot 404.
  • imidazol97imidazol97 Member Posts: 27,701
The car has lines of a ?Nash? model. I knew it wasn't, but there's a familiarity in the front fenders and roof C and rear.

The "frenched" headlights remind me of a 1949 or '50 Lincoln.
  • andys120andys120 Member Posts: 23,674
Yep it's a 1949 Lincoln Sport Sedan, don't laugh "Sport Sedan" was apparently the model name for the low-end Lincoln 4-door in the early 50s.

Sport Sedans usually corner a little flatter than that. ;)

Yep, the Subaru Star. Well received by the automotive press, it was a decent car for a second effort. It even had the (now) trademark 4-cyl "boxer" engine, although it was a front-driver (not AWD).

    911 Turbo.. Circa '84-'87?

Those look like Boxster wheels... they look out of place on that car..

I think that's the new Subaru Impreza WRX.

Looks kinda watered down like some kind of a Kia or something.

I'll give you credit for that. It's actually a Mitsubishi Dignity. Mitsu built 59 of them in 1999-2001 before their corporate troubles killed it. Hyundai built a clone as the Equus.

    Plymouth Valiant, a '65?

OK, they probably had a different name for it back then. Oh, and I would prefer the '69 Camaro in the background.

arghh...okay...we know it's an Alfa...we know it's what they call in Italy a 'sport wagon' (or so I presume) and now we have to guess which one of the myriad confusing series....I'll take a stab at a 156 Sport Wagon and I'm probably wrong.
