I don't remember the model name, but I think the brand name was used by German and English builders. I know someone explianed it once, but I don't remember the details.

The fishy roadster is a Daimler Dart. IIRC, Daimler UK built products from Daimler Germany under license, but this was before 1900. I think ties were cut by the turn of the century, but the name remained.
1) It had what every roadster owner of the period wanted, V8 power (2.5 litre) and probably would have sold better had it looked better.
2) Like Corvettes and Loti it featured fiberglass body work.
3) After Jaguar Ltd took over the ownership of Daimler they discontinued production of the SP-250 (c. 1963) after discovering that it cost more to produce than the E-Type! :surprise:
Daimlers were long favored as rides by British royalty (they seem to favor Audis nowadays). Jaguar continues to make cars under the Daimler name, IIRC they're slightly more luxurious than their Jaguar counterparts.

The English Daimler Motor Co. was founded in 1895 after the British Motor Company
bought the patent rights owned by the German Daimler AG for use in Britain.

Unless the design has been sold to yet another manufacturer
It's a Fiat Millecinquecento (1500) wagon c. 1963.

So I guess you're correct

Looks like it but it's not. Here's a hint, it's no longer in production, very few were made (that's two hints)

I sort of remember it from an old Car and Driver issue..

They were not cheap. $600k fully equipped. Only 8 built before hard times shut them down in the early 1990s. I wonder if the collector value is anywhere near the original selling price.

You're right about that. Any guesses?
I just returned from India, and there are only 3 Indian car manufacturers. India has Ford, Chevrolet, Hyundai, Honda, Toyota, Fiat, Mercedes-Benz, Mitsubishi, Opel, Porsche, Bentley but the blue SUV is from none of these companies.
It's Indian made, and relatively new to the market.
I'm sure if the company resurrects itself and makes another high end sports car that is successful, then the original will be worth a ton of money.

The Hindustan Ambassador is a unique car. A car whose original engineering goes back to 1955 still being produced 50 years later. When I went in it, nothing about the car would indicate it belonging to the 21st century.
I kind of like the Hindustan Ambassador. It's a real "retro" car.
The Hindustan Ambassador is pretty cool to look at, however it's noisy as hell and the shifter makes an annoying vibrating noise. It'd be pretty neat if you could get an Ambassador with a V8 and RWD!
I am sure the Aussies could do a good number on that Ambassador. Muscle cars are alive...somewhere
It's pitiful, this SUV is roughly the size of a Kia Sorento, yet it's engine puts out only 110hp. Put a better engine in, and this SUV looks good.
It's been pretty quiet around here lately. Where's everyone else who used to post on this thread? andys120? boomchek? kyfdx?

P.S.- It's unlikely to be a Mille Miglia participant, I see a whitewall on the right front.

If it's not a one-off I'd guess it's a Cisitalia or an Siata. PF or Touring body. :confuse:

Anyway, #2076 is a Maruti 800. You guys would probably never have figured that out.
But it's good to see everybody back.

[Opel Zafira] but it doesn't have the kick up in the rear fender area, perhaps it's a related vehicle. My guess is it has AWD, it seems to ride high.

Funny trivia - Subaru sells a version of that Zafira in Japan called the Traviq.

I'm gonna start putting my scanner to use and maybe post up some mysteries here soon.
Lately a lot of the cars have been difficult for me to guess. I'm still trying though :confuse:

Here's one anyway, it's from a Japanese manufacturer.
