Yup it's a 1962 Oldsmobile F-85 Jetfire, along with the Chevy Corvair Monza Spyder it was the first American car to use turbocharging in production form. I don't believe there was a Buick Jetfire.
Always hated those cars after hitching a ride home from school one Friday with a Mario Andretti wannbe. He ran one car off the road on a backwoods gravel stretch. I think his was a '70 or '71 though.
Oldsmobile’s "Turbo Rocket Fluid" was a mixture of distilled water, methanol and a corrosion inhibitor
The car didn't last long in the market---owners didn't know how to take care of them (they let the Rocket Fluid run dry---and they didn't drive them fast enough to get any turbo boost.
And then there were all the cooling problems inherent in the 215 cid V-8 engine, and problems with turbochargers seizing up. I have never seen one with the factory turbo system intact and running.
You are mining a rich seam of interesting cars here. All of the Rank films of the late 50s and 60s look like a British Motoring promotion. This one is mid 50s Jensen Interceptor, based off Austin mechanicals. I think that some panels were aluminium.
The actor is James Robertson Justice, abusing a cyclist.
I am not sure what they were described as in the USA but in Australia it was the Mitsubishi Starion, purportedly the Jinglish mispronounced version of Stallion.
I cannot see this, without thinking of Floyd from Doonesbury : Wannabes!
Too bad the Corrado got its start with the 'G-Lader' supercharged 4. With the VR6 it was a nice replacement for the Scirocco. Can't remember the last one I've seen on the street.

No, there wasn't. Mr. Brain just wasn't communicating properly with Mr. Fingers.

It's a Lotus but not an Evora. It's the new Lotus Exige S Convertible . I must say that he Lotus naming conventions are a bit confusing to me.
First there was the Lotus Elise, a Targa-style convertible>
Then they added a permanent top and called it the Exige>
Then they took the permanent roof off the Exige and now it's the Lotus Elise..er...Exige S Convertible....got that...

1969 Plymouth Barracuda fastback.

Yep, an Oldsmobile! Strange cars that I believe were only produced in 1962-1963.
I remember they used some kind of special fluid. It wasn't water.
Yup, that's a ** '69 Plymouth Barracuda**

So, a person could have made their own "Rocket Fluid" I would suppose?
I haven't seen one of those in many years but we had a neighbor who had one when I was a kid.
GM did some strange thing in those years. the "Rope Drive" Tempests were a good example.
I don't know how that could have held up behind a 326 and some had those!
Those V-8's that were cut in half were another weird thing to behold.

I'm guessing M4.
"My what an ugly face you have."
In what universe are those wheels good looking on a '69 Barracuda? Sorry, I just don't like them. At all.

In 1969 Pimpmobiles were big Caddy's and Buicks!
4 Series Bimmers have gotten way to big and heavy but IMO that's a great looking car. It's the new BMW M4 Convertible (nearly as big as a Mustang)

Agree. It's usually a mistake to put modern wheels and tires on a vintage car.

Even when it's resto-modded?
I like the wheels and tires Chip Foose uses on "Overhaulin".

1970 Shelby Mustang GT500...although I'm fuzzy on the '69 versus '70 in those cars.
Not as fuzzy as I was; my first thought was that it was a '69 but you are correct, it's a 1970 GT500.

I'll change it to a 48 Nash 600. The "Super" side script steered me to the Ambassador but I now see that the "600" also had it.
