They only made Corvair wagons for the '61 and '62 model years. It's a Corvair 700 Lakewood; the 700 being between the cheapo 500 and the Monza. I can't tell a '61 from a '62 unless it's a Monza, but for some reason I'd say that's a '61.
Late comment about the Venza pic posted earlier...I always think that is one of the better-looking Japanese-brand products sold here. Big wheel openings and tires and pretty clean down the side. I don't like the looks of the CR-V at all, in comparison. I looked at one a year or so ago at the Cleveland Auto Show, and it was a basic model, but the wheels and tires looked so small for the wheel openings. I like bigger wheel openings without a lot of sheetmetal over top of them, and I like wheels and tires that fill those big openings.

If you're talking about the black car peeking out from behind the Olds Convertible, IMHO it looks too small, it's probably something like a Simca Aronde or MG Magnette.
It isn't a Magnette, but although I think it could be an Aronde, my guess is that is a Lancia Appia. Anybody see the back of the roof on a Fiat Topolino between the Olds and the Aronde /Appia ?

Yes, I can see a convertible top and rear window peeking out of that slot, I guess it's one of those roll-down partial convertibles such as on the current Fiat 500>
Oddly no one has mentioned the very familiar America Iron between the VW and the Olds, a 2-tone 1956 Chevy Bel Air 4dr h/t .

That car was $13K in 1957 dollars.
I think you'd have to multiply by 10 to get the equivalent in 2014 $ because $13K would by a modest home in many parts of the US back then.
'51 Ford. I love this bodystyle, I think maybe called "Club Coupe". Not a Ford guy, but you have to like that '49-51 body, first car I can think of to totally lose the separate-fender look (not counting Kaisers and Frazers).

That Ford looks strange! The push button door handle definitely says 51, BUT the grill appears to have only a Single bullet (49-50) and not the two smaller ones of the 51. Could be the angle of the shot. Any other pics?

Yup that is a 1951 Ford Custom Club Coupe , the Club Coupe style featured a shorter greenhouse and longer trunk than other 2-dr Fords. It was sometimes called "Shoebox Ford". > @tmart said:

It's the angle, it definitely has the 2 bullet front.>
The car has some minor exterior mods and there's a 302 V8 under the hood as well as a front end from a Mustang II.

As the resident vintage Renault expert, I'd advise you as your counselor to give it up Steve. Fintail has a very good case here. It does have a roof just as darn squatty as a VW.

One last thing about the Venza...I think this is subliminal, but it sort-of reminds me of a Malibu Maxx. Maybe that's why I like it.
I never saw the Venza/Maxx link, now I can't un-see it. Funny. I've always seen the Venza as an unpretentious Lexus RX.

I'm thinking that's a Mitsubishi of some kind, and a good design I always thought. No more details than that though!
Late first gen Eclipse turbo

Probably my favorite Mitsubishi, ever. I didn't like the later Eclipse's styling as much, and 200 hp out of 2.0 L was just amazing for the time.

Cartoon Tatra 603. The rear air inlet confirms rear engine, The three headlights format is from late 1950s. Later one have four headlights.
Cartoon style is familiar, possibly Thierry Dubois - sort of like Herget, but more French
Is that Renault heading away?
Cheers
Graham
The car heading away looks like a 1953 VW Beetle Graham, except the trunk lid vents don't match any year I see.
Other car Renault 4CV

Artistic license by the cartoonist on that Renault. The roof is as squat as a VW.
It's a comic, not a technical drawing :P
LOL, good excuse. I'll take it.

Oh, I caved with the comic excuse.
Definitely has Ferdinand's hand on it.
And I could have sworn some old Bugs had vented hoods sort of like that, but didn't run across any examples doing an image search.
Yes, that is a Thierry Dubois cartoon.
Yup, a Renault 4CV

What's with that grille on the early '50's Chevy in the second-row-from-front?
Methinks that is not a Chevy>

On the convertible? I'd guess it is just a custom grille, people did that a lot back then, I think.
In front of the Chevy is a Lincoln Cosmopolitan.
Is it Canadian?
