Hi guys,

On the hunt for a new car after 3 years. Looking for Mazda 6 GT 2017 or 2017.5 AT, 33/10 or 36/10. I'm curious to find out which numbers better for one of these terms and models.
Would you provide MF and Residual value for NY. So far a few dealers replied on my emails after I started asking about the lease numbers in details, the best ACC number I've got is 27k.

Also, if I lease the car out of the state do they apply that state current MF or where the car will be registered. I'm reviewing the quotes and residual along with MF from the dealers vary significantly and don't match anything posted.

What is the MSRP?

Assuming that all the additions to the selling price are legitimate (tax, acq.fee, DMV fees. dealer fees), and applying $3170 of CAP reduction (out of the $3500) to the $29,183 net price, for a CAP cost of $26013, I get a payment of $296/mo.

That's a pretty good spread from $330/mo.

Makes me wonder if the money factor is marked up, or if they've added other charges that come out of the $3500.

MSRP is $28885.
I've been quoted by one dealer in MA for 36 months, 12k Miles per year, w/ $2500 down a all-in monthly payment of $260 incl taxes and fees.
This seems like a good deal, I'm wondering if I'm missing something.

What does the $2500 due at signing cover?

While it appears the 2018 won't be a complete redesign, demand may be higher since they are releasing a turbo. Based on your experience, what are the MF and residual value % when the model is newly released? Also, do you anticipate the LVR would be better with a 2017.5 lease now or when the 2018 is released with a higher residual but most likely less incentive and less room to negotiate. Thank you

Hard to predict what the numbers on the 2018 will be, when they are released. Whatever the bean counters at Mazda will think will move inventory.

Residuals will only go down on the 2017.5, going forward. And, less inventory means you may have to settle on trim, packages or color.

Since the payments are identical, I'd be inclined to go with the shorter term. But, or course, that means you'll have to do it all over again, that much sooner.

To check the calculations, you need the adjusted CAP cost, with all fees added, and the tax rate.
Ask for an itemization of the amounts that are added to get the adjusted CAP.

Gross Cap Cost is $29,555.00
Net Cap Cost after rebates $26,299.26

What's your take here? I think there's about $400 of padding in here after accounting for the $595 acq. fee, $875 delivery charge, $130 in DC DMV fees, and ~$300 dealer processing (not req. by law).

Breaking out the destination/handling is a ruse, to make it look like a bigger discount. That's part of the MSRP, and should be part of any sale price quoted, as well. You wouldn't expect to get a charge for "leather" added to your sale price.

With that Net CAP, I get $318/mo.+tax.
I don't know the tax rate in DC, but your payment quotes seem at least $10/mo. high.

50% residual is for 33 months, 12K/yr

That all makes sense. I come up $10/mo. less, but I'll guess that's the sales tax on the rebate, rolled into the lease. He should have listed that, and given you the adjusted CAP cost, but why make it easy?

I don't see any issues with any of that.
