Please tell me if this is a good deal. I *think* it is. 2017 QX60 premium plus package/theater package/driver assistance MSRP $54,595 39 mo/12K 58% residual ($31,665.10) MF .00116 (base rate) We have a 2015 QX60 lease that ends in June (we are at our mileage now and they gave us a 2K buffer) they are offering to waive the $395 disposition fee, and the rest of our lease payments we pay $3000 down for $635/mo $4000 down $607/mo They need the car sold by 1/31 to honor this pricing. NY State
The adjusted CAP cost has to be $51,070 to achieve that payment.
Did they give you a selling price or adjusted CAP cost?
I should also add that they said Infiniti was giving a $1000 repeat customer incentive and they were matching that. So $2000 was coming off somewhere as well.
Msrp $54,595 selling $52063 govt fee $150 doc fee $87.50 upfront tax $1984.03 act fee $700 gross cap $52,762.99 cash cap reduction $2198.50 adj cap $50,564.49 total due at signing $5000 residual value $31,665. $579.97. He said we can do $3000 down for $635.26/ mo or $4000 down for $607.62/mo

Okay.. good numbers.
That adjusted CAP cost is the number with $5000 upfront. That number will change, with less upfront. The only thing added to the selling price is the acquisition fee to get that Gross CAP. The rest of the charges come out of the upfront money. After taking out the first payment, the CAP cost reduction is what's left over. I get the same payment numbers that they do
This lets us know exactly what you are paying for the vehicle ($52063). So, including any supposed rebates, etc, they are discounting the vehicle by $2532. (less than 5%) That doesn't sound like a lot. Especially, if you are actually getting any sort of incentive or rebate from Infiniti.
On the plus side, no weird charges, no markup from money factor, etc, etc. And, they've disclosed all the numbers.
Edmunds TMV expects about an 8% discount from MSRP. That's about another $1800 off, at a minimum.
That's a difference of about $50/mo. That's what I would shoot for, with the same terms and upfront money.
That's what I thought too. I told them that according to Edmunds, the MF should me .00125 and they sent me a picture of their book showing the money factor of .00154. Is he showing me last months book? They told me that Edmunds is no always accurate...
Gross Cap Cost is $42,500.73
($41,800 sell price + $700 Acquisition fee)
What is the best way to approach the MF issue? If they lied at this point, is it just wise drop them and go to another dealer?

Yep .00154 is last month's number.
Be polite and tell them you won't sign a deal with an inflated MF. And, get other dealers involved.

.00154 is last month's numbers. Those expired on January 3rd. We don't have "Edmunds" numbers. We have Infiniti Financial Services numbers.
How do you handle that? Depends on how bad you want to buy a car from this dealer.
"Can you check the picture you sent me? I think you might have mistakenly looked at last month's numbers."
Or...
"How about you send another picture that shows the effective dates for those numbers, you lying crook!"
That's up to you... I think the sermon I heard today might have suggested using the first approach. Something about forgiveness, yada, yada, yada..
Thanks guys. Gonna go visit another dealer in a bit. The guy from the original dealership responded when I questioned the MF by saying "Regardless of the MF, your monthly payment will be $493 with $1500 down" so he's just playing with numbers. He's got 30 in stock. We'll see how bad he wants to unload his inventory...

If the payment is under $700, why is the size of each MSD $800? Should be the payment rounded up to the next highest $50, I believe.

Are you also paying the taxes and fees up front, or adding them to the selling price?

Infiniti uses the pre-discounted payment to base the SDs off of.
Even though my Infiniti lease payment was $378/mo, the MSD amount was 9 X $450.
Hey guys, would appreciate a little advice. Live in Miami, was looking at a base model FWD QX60 with no dealer add-ons last week. Dealership is a little over a month old so "trying to get started, move cars etc etc," and they have called with several offers over the last few days that continue to improve. Offering today on the last day of the month $1500 out the door total cost, $432/mo x 39 mo for 12k miles/yr. I also have a trade-in valued around $500 dollars. Does this seem like a reasonable or good deal?

What is the MSRP and selling price?
What does the $1500 cover?
Without that information, we can only guess how good or bad this offer is.

Morning Moderators - Want to run these numbers by you guys.
MSRP: $57,895 Sale Price: $51846 Adjusted Money factor (after SD): .00026 Residual based on 12,000 miles/year: 58% VA registration with 12k miles/year Total due at signing: $5,850 plus 1st payment Monthly payment; $575/month
I've asked the dealer to provide a breakdown of the Drive Off amount, $5,850. It should be MSDs, Sales Tax (Virginia we pay upfront), Acquisition, Doc Fees and Registration). Am I missing anything else.
Also, I was expecting the Adjusted MF to be lower. Does this one make sense with the 9 MSDs?

What lease term, 36 or 39 months?
Ask the dealer for the adjusted cap cost - it's likely that not all of the taxes and fees are being covered by the $5850
Assuming 39 months, your prices and numbers give me $491/mo.
Thanks Michael. I was just about to respond, after looking at the numbers again, that the Total Due at signing seems low. If the MSDs are 5,400, surely that can't include the Sales tax, which should be ~2K. Where could they be hiding that amount?
This is for a 36 month lease. Can you explaining what the Adjust Cap Cost is, if not too much trouble?

Adjusted cap cost = negotiated selling price + taxes and fees not paid up front - cap cost reduction (down payment)
My guess is that the taxes are being added in to the selling price, thus raising your payment. Once you get the adjusted cap cost - and, how the dealer arrived at that number from the selling price - we can figure out what's going on.

You need all those numbers to know exactly what you are paying for (and, maybe, some things you don't want to pay for).
