I believe you can do 10 MSDs, each of which reduce the MF .00008

Not sure about 10 MSDs.. but, I know you can do at least nine, and each reduces the MF by .00010.

OK, so I had them reversed. Still, a total MF reduction of .00090.

NY does not allow MSD ... you can get your car from NJ or CT and use MSD, however, even if you are a NY resident.

Hi, can some of you experts give me advice on the following quote? Thanks !

2017 FWD QX60 - PREM, PREM PLUS, THEATRE, DELUXE TECH. ( 4 PACKAGES)
    MSRP: $58,460

    MSD = $5400 ( 9 MSD)
    MF = .00093 (after 9 MSD)
    PRICE: $53,000 ( 9.3% OFF MSRP )
    PMT: $599/mo including 9% tax.
    RESIDUAL: 61% - 12K miles / year, 39 months , FWD

There's a $700 dealer acquisition fee - is it smart to pay this upfront?
How can I make this deal better ?

Hmm, when I plug those numbers in, I get $575/mo after tax.

Confirm the adjusted cap cost with the dealer.

Recommend you add the acquisition fee to the cap cost.

    1. $5,400 - 9 MSD - shouldn't this number be $4,545 ? ( 9 x base payment)

    2. Sales price: $53,232 - I asked them to go down to $51,500. They wouldn't go below 53,232.

    3. This car is NOT on their lot. They have to get it from the port. Not sure if this changes anything in terms of the deal.

Plugging in your numbers, I am within pennies of the calculated payment.

The MSD amount is the final payment (with tax), then rounded up to the next highest $50. So, $600 x 9 = $5400

    Thanks Michaell,

so, would you consider his a good deal?

& my dealer told me MSD = base payment using base MF.  Which comes closer to $600, hence 9 x $600 = $5400

but acccording to your post above, MSD is based off the FINAL Pmt ,  which is $546 including tax.

    so, wouldn't $546 round up to $550 x 9 = $4,950 total MSD ?

    thanks

Another question, do the VPP plans apply to leases?

From what i know VPP plans do apply to leases.

I currently have 2 offers on the table
QX60 AWD Premium Plus + Deluxe Tech package

    Based off MSRP $58,340

    10k miles, 39 months
    584/month, 1590 out of pocket,

    Second offer
$558 per month $1618 out of pocket

This is all the information that i have at the moment, based on 63 Residual and .0015 money factor

  • I have a dealership telling me VPP doesn't apply to leases.  Their purchase offer was good, but lease offer jumped up $4k and the MF was .0019.

Another dealership is offering a $707 payment with $1500 down on a $58,690 FWD with Premium Plus, theater, and deluxe tech.  I like your offers better, burzhui.

I would suggest you check with multiple dealerships - see if you get a consistent answer.

You can still use VPP with a lease, but that doesn't mean it's the same number as the purchase. Different incentives on lease vs. buy.

But, the money factor and residual shouldn't be any different from a standard deal. Seems like they are trying to take advantage of you.

My VPP is invoice price less $1,250. The selling prices being given are definitely above that. After calling the Infiniti leasing specialist again to confirm my VPP discount, I'm talking to a third dealer. Fingers crossed!
  • this is what i settled on

    MSRP 58840
    Sell price 50900

Have to go pick it up tomorrow. any way i can negotiate it down more?
I'm not sure why the cap taxes are being added to gross cap

That's crazy high! based on those numbers you should be at about 615 per month.
What is the adjusted cap cost it sounds like they are tacking on and additional $3K to the sale price.
  • Hey I just noticed your MSRP is too low to have the theater package.
Your MSRP should be probably $60,545
