What you need is the adjusted CAP cost.

I got a quote from a lease broker on nearly the same car that was $2k higher, and the dealer's initial offer was much much higher at $17,850 for a 24 month one-pay (effective payment of $743!).

I read a bunch but how were you able to find one-pay info? You must have posted after I post mine (but mine was in process of approval). Now reading yours, I'm not sure if I was offered a good deal or not. MSRP was lower though 53k

 How does rebates work from Lexus financial in regards to calculating the payment. I've read I pay tax on it, is it rolled in, an up front fee? I live in California so I pay tax on my payment. Will they calculate my payment tax then recalculate it after rebate?

also, most general statements is to pay nothing upfront. Other than first months payment anything else I need to be aware of? Can the DMV fees be rolled in? I've read here where those are paid st signing.

If the mf is .00080 and reduction Is .00008, 9 would be a new mf of .00008, the cost would be 3375.00 for my payments. Is that worth it? It drops interest to 5.31 vs 53.09 however this is not including how the rebate tax works

I'll answer your last question first - at lease inception, limit your out of pocket costs to just the first payment and the DMV costs.

You will pay taxes on any incentives you receive - probably best to roll those into the payment.

The incentive itself is treated as a discount from sticker, in addition to any discount you are able to negotiate.

MSDs are always worth it, if you can afford the up front costs.

I'm sure LFS imposes a minimum MF, but I don't know what that value is. I'd guess .00005, but not certain.

Yes, .00008 MF reduction for each SD is correct for Lexus.

Yes, rebate tax calculations are correct as you describe them.

DMV charges are not taxable - if you add them into the lease payment, then they become subject to tax.

Also if I put cash towards the cap reduction that will also rid the fees too, yes or no ? Also , am I taxed on cash cap reductions ?

Government fees are not normally subject to sales tax; if you roll them into the lease payment, then they become taxed. Why pay tax on something that's not taxable?

There is a difference between 'cap reduction' and 'up front cash' - any of that money would be at risk if the car was stolen or totaled.

Yes, cap reductions are subject to tax.

The DMV fees will be listed on the paperwork, as well.

But, we suggest you add the acquisition fees to the cap cost and make it part of the payment. Again, if the lease terminates early, you'd be out that up front money.

That I'm understanding with the DMV fee, if it's 350 for example - divide that by your 36 month term times by your tax rate which would be change in tax- why would I want to pay that up front to save in some change in tax incase the car does get totaled or stolen . I don't know about your state, but here in CO if the registration terminates early, you can use the pro-rated portion as a credit for your next car.

So, no risk of losing that money. Your state may be different; might be wise to check with your local DMV.

The rest are imposed by the state of CA and are normal.

I paid $499 for my dealer fee on my last lease in CO.

I've seen dealer fees as high as $899 in Florida!
