I am working on a lease deal for my wife. She currently has a NX that is about to be over mileage and im looking to trade in early. they are going to buy back the car but im looking at a 2k loss. Right now i am being quoted the following on a 2017 RX 350 AWD:

MSRP - 50,694
Sales Price - 47,532
39 months / 10k miles per year
lease cash of 2000 (not included in sales price)
loyalty cash of 1000 (not included in sales price)

Assuming i paid the taxes, first month and fees up front, what payment are you coming up with? The 2k loss is roughly 51 per month. Feel free to leave that out.

Is the MF a fixed number or is the dealership free to set this as they please? I used the lease calculator tool on Edmunds for a 2017 RX 350 FWD and came up with a monthly lease payment of $702, but when I asked the dealership for a lease payment they quoted $787.
Here's how I came up with my payment. Can you please check my numbers? This would be for a 36 mo/30k mile lease with $0 down in TX.
MSRP = $60,363
Selling price = $53,998 (includes rebate)
Sales tax = $3,375 (6.25%)
Fees = $462
Gross Capitalized Cost = $57,835
Residual Value = $34,407 (57%)
Depreciation = $23,428
Base Monthly Payment = $650.78
Money Factor = .00055
Monthly Rent Charge = $50.73
Total Monthly Payment = $701.51

The only way I can get to the number they are quoting is if I change the MF to .00147 (3.53%).

Your math is correct.
Yes.. the dealer can markup the rate for extra profit.
Ask them to disclose the Adjusted CAP cost and the money factor.
For starters, you are missing the $795 acquisition fee.

Thanks! If I'm doing this correct, adding the $795 acq fee to the mix should change their MF to .00122 (2.9%). Better than I originally thought, but still higher than expected. I'll ask them to confirm and see if they will negotiate.
