We just got the Southern region documents.
$2500 lease cash for your region
The $1000 acquisition is "conquest" money, for owners of certain makes
We "think" that should stack with the $2500.

Could you please provide MF and residual on 2017 Lexus NX200t AWD for 36/10k? I'm in Oregon. Any intensives and rebates? Thanks!

If the dealer does not have the car I wanted and they will locate one from other states and transport it to Oregon for me, do I need to pay any additional fee? Thanks!

Also, is the residual value (or rebate) any different for a NX200t AWD and NX200t AWD F sport?

I'm in Oregon, no sales tax (yearh!), would you recommend to finance this vehicle or lease it? I'm thinking to lease this vehicle for 3 years, but may move out of this state to another state with sales tax two years later. Thank you!

Any shipping charges will be negotiated between you and the dealer, but I would expect to pay something to have it done.

All NX models share the same numbers, this month.

If you plan to keep the vehicle beyond the lease term, I'd suggest you buy it, up front.

Max 9 MSDs, each of which reduce the MF by .00008

But, you can't have a negative MF, so in theory, you'll only be able to use 6 MSDs, lowering the MF to .00007

I finally went to one dealership yesterday and got the following numbers for the monthly payment (leasing, 36/10k miles, and 36/7500 miles) which don't add up to my own calculations. Any help is greatly appreciated!

It's a 2017 nx200t with msrp of 47,385. They are offering a $2000 (rebate) + $250 (another rebate, not sure why). This dealer is not easy to negotiate the price (one of the dealers was not happy with my offer, he made some very rude remarks and we left the place immediately).

For now, I was able to get a discount of $3536. With this discount and the rebates, I was not able to get the residual of $26535.6. That means I am not able to calculate my monthly payments.

I understand the experts on this forum generally recommend $0 down for leasing. The salesperson mentioned something about the gap price protection offered by Lexus. And Lexus is the only one offering this. Not sure he is lying or not.

Another thing I ran into today, instead of trying to negotiate the amount of discount (equivalent to cap cost), the salesperson kept on asking how much monthly payment I would like to pay. I felt uncomfortable to give him a month payment because I couldn't get the residual value calculated right and the monthly payment given in the image does not match up with what I have calculated. Do you guys negotiate the selling price or the monthly payment? Thanks a lot!

    MSRP: 47,385
    Savings: 3,536
    Cap cost: 43,849

    Total add-ons 250
    Sales Tax 0 (in Oregon)
Dealers/State Fees (includes doc fee, license and registration): 423
    Total Price: 44022

    Rebate: 2000

Net Residual (how did they get this number?): 26,535.6
    Drive Off: 2000

    Payment Options:
    For 36/10k miles, MF: 0.000550, Residual 57%,
    $491.42 for $0 cash down
    $462.27 for $1000 cash down
    $433.11 for $2000 cash down
    $403.97 for $3000 cash down

    For 36/7500 miles, MF: 0.000550, Residual 58%,
    $478.15 for $0 cash down
    $448.99 for $1000 cash down
    $419.84 for $2000 cash down
    $390.69 for $3000 cash down

I agree with the money factor and residual percentage.
I don't know how they got that residual amount, as it's not a full percentage of the MSRP they provided.
Also, it would be a different number for 10K/yr vs. 7.5K/yr, as those have to different residual percentages.

I can't calculate it exactly, either, since we obviously have erroneous or incomplete info. However, the payments are definitely in the right neighborhood.

Almost all captive finance companies include GAP insurance at no extra charge.

A couple of things to verify.
    1) The actual MSRP of the vehicle they are quoting.
    2) The exact adjusted CAP cost. (ask for the adjusted CAP with just first payment due at signing, to simplify matters)

If you have those two numbers, then you already know the money factor and residual, so you can check the payments.

If I lease a vehicle with a Washington dealer, am I also responsible for the taxes? Oregon does not have taxes, and I'm only a couple of hours away from Seattle, WA, where there are much more inventories for a NX200t AWD f sport in 42k - 45k range. Thanks in advance!

Also, what is the maximum number of multiple security deposits the dealers take to reduce the MF? Right now, I'm looking at .00055.

How do you guys manage to negotiate between two dealers? Do I need to make sure two dealers have two vehicles with similar MSRP?

You'd have to check with the dealer regarding the tax situation - they may be familiar with Oregon customers.

Normally, Lexus allows 9 MSDs at a deduction of .00008 each, but you can't use all of them, as that would result in a negative MF. You'll probably be allowed 6 MSDs, taking the MF down to .00007.

Negotiate however you feel comfortable - it helps if you are looking at cars with similar equipment and MSRP, but focus on the discount from sticker.

Hi, could you please tell if my numbers look ok to you.
I am in northern CA. I'm doing lease for the first time. I thought this deal was good, but after reading comments here I’ve got confused with MF. I’m getting 0.0015 with my numbers. But it seems extremely high compared with 0.00055 mentioned here several times. My credit is excellent. What am I missing here? Thank you!

2017 NX 200t AWD, 36 months, 12K miles, $336.72 monthly incl. tax (or $311.06 without tax)

    MSRP $38,928
    Price $36,875
    Trade-in $7000
    Rebate $2,000
    Residual $21799.68
    Rent charge $2896.20
Gross cap cost $36875 (with $875 excess wear plan)
Cap cost red $6773.52 (equals 9000 minus everything below)
    Doc Fee $80
    Title/License/Reg $346
    Tire/Battery $8.75
    DMV EFF $29
    Acq. Fee $795
    Tax $631.01
    1st payment $336.72

What adjusted cap cost number is the dealer using to get their quoted payment?

    Or, are these your calculations?

We don't recommend using trade equity as cap reduction - if the car is stolen or totaled, you would lose that money. Only cover the first payment and non-taxable fees (registration), and have the dealer cut you a check for the balance.

Thank you, Michaell. Adjusted cap cost is $30101.48. All above numbers are from the dealer, I only tried to calculate MF myself and came up with 0.00155.

    Price $36,875
    Trade-in $7000
    Rebate $2,000

Your calculations on the money factor look to be correct.
That's the problem with making large CAP cost reductions. It obscures the true monthly cost, and it's easy for them to slide in upcharges and extras.

That money factor bump is adding about $50/mo.+tax.

    Hey guys,

The dealer did not use the $2000 rebate in the cap cost calculation, instead he put that into my multiple security deposits.

Say my multiple security deposits end up to be $2500.

Case A: I pay $2500 security deposits and then a lower monthly payments. I will get $2500 at the end of my lease.
Case B: I only pay $500 security deposits and a higher monthly payments. I will get $2500 back at the end of my lease.

I'm getting the lowest MF right now (.00007 with MSD) so the difference in the monthly payments is almost the same as $2000/36.

Does this make any difference? I have done Case A for my previous lease, but the dealer is doing Case B for this one.

    Thank you!

I'd pay the $2500 out of pocket and have the lower payment. You'll get a very nice rate of return on that money after 3 years - I've seen 10% or higher annual return on some MSDs.

Do you mean there will be interest on MSDs? Wow, excited! My 3 year lease will be over at the end of this month, I'll be getting 7 MSDs back from BMWFS provided I don't get charged for my tires! :) Thanks!

Same MF for all lease terms up to 48 months.

36 months is generally the sweet spot for Lexus leases.
