Hi, could you please tell if my numbers look ok to you. I am in northern CA. I'm doing lease for the first time. I thought this deal was good, but after reading comments here I’ve got confused with MF. I’m getting 0.0015 with my numbers. But it seems extremely high compared with 0.00055 mentioned here several times. My credit is excellent. What am I missing here? Thank you!
What adjusted cap cost number is the dealer using to get their quoted payment?
Or, are these your calculations?
We don't recommend using trade equity as cap reduction - if the car is stolen or totaled, you would lose that money. Only cover the first payment and non-taxable fees (registration), and have the dealer cut you a check for the balance.
Thank you, Michaell. Adjusted cap cost is $30101.48. All above numbers are from the dealer, I only tried to calculate MF myself and came up with 0.00155.
Your calculations on the money factor look to be correct. That's the problem with making large CAP cost reductions. It obscures the true monthly cost, and it's easy for them to slide in upcharges and extras.
That money factor bump is adding about $50/mo.+tax.
Thank you. What is the best language to use when asking dealer about lower MF? Can I show them this rate (0.00055) published somewhere? Should I use words LFS base rate or something?

Tell them, politely, that you won't sign a deal where the MF has been marked up. They know the base rate.

Hi there! I'm reaching the end of my RX lease and am shopping for a new NX lease. I've spoken with two dealers and am trying to understand how they are reaching the monthly payments offered. Can you please tell me what the MF and residual for a 36/10, 39/10 and 42/10 NX 200t FWD in Texas is? The dealer told me they are using .0008 but I was expecting .0005 and the residual price of the car seems low - can they adjust them as they see fit?

I am looking to lease a 2017 Lexus NX 200t. I have been offered the following deal and wanted to see if it was a great deal or not. MSRP: $41,178 Final price after discounts and fees: $36,103.52 36 month lease, 12,000 miles/yr, $3000 down, lease payment: $335 per month (35 payments as 1st payment is absorbed in $3000 down)

Do you think this is good deal or can I do better on an NX 200t? This is inclusive of $3,500 in rebates and I'm in Texas MSRP: $41,303 selling price, $37,500 39 months/10,000 6 security deposits ($2,400) $387 per month, $0 down
I am new to leasing car and still trying to figure it out. The lease deal I am looking at is Monthly payment: $394/mo 10k miles/36mo $930 down. Is it an ok deal? What should I look more closely? Thanks for your help in advance.

Other than the $2400 for MSD, how much does the dealer want from you at signing?
Doesn't seem like much of a discount from sticker, with the incentives.

Thanks Michaell. The dealer wants around $300 in fees but I’m not putting anything down other than the security deposits. How much do you typically see off the MSRP? I can definetely try to get more discounted just don’t know what a good deal/reasonable goal number is.

ok, thank you. I'll research the sale price. I'm also digging a bit more into the rebates/incentives... I'm already getting a $2,500 rebate and another $1000 off for conquest deal (i believe this is for having another person on my insurance), but I'm seeing online a $1,500 cash back offer on select NX models from the manufacturer. Should I be able to get that added to my deal?
Edmunds has been a great source of info as I have leased many cars over the years for family and business. I am about to lease a 2017 NX F-Sport for 36/18K year. Assuming the current MF and Residual for a 36/15K is .00055/54% and I am being quoted .00035/50.2% for the 36/18K. I would then have to prebuy the extra miles @ .20 cents per. Would I only have to pre buy those xtra miles over the 15K allotted (3K miles a year x 3)? Long story short, I have an offer sheet on NX F-Sport 47,600 SRP, less 4,760 Dealer Discount and 2,800 Lexus Rebates. (Lease Cash & Lex Loyalty). 15.8% disc. All the fees look legit and accurate. According to dealer; .00035 MF/36/18K/50.2% resid/ + 8% tax (New York, but getting car from Pennsyl)= 537./month, all inclusive. Also, I was under the impression that Pennsyl has a 3,000 Lexus Cash on top of the 1,000 Lexus Loyalty. Sounds ok, but any advice much appreciated. Thank you.

.00035 MF is the Eastern region rate. NY and PA are in the same region, so the rates and rebates are the same. $1800+$1000 is correct for a lease. I don't see $3000 anywhere. The mileage reduction is 9000 X $0.20 = $1800. They divided the $1800 by the MSRP to come up with the 3.8% residual reduction (ergo, 50.2%) Get the adjusted CAP cost, and we can check the calculations, but it looks like you have all the numbers, otherwise.
Have an offer in South West Florida for $383/mo (with $383 due at signing) for a base NX 200t, excluding taxes.
Trying to find out the sales price, money factor, and residual.
Is this a good price, or might something better come in November / December? Not sure if there have been better deals during those months in the past few years.

Hard to say, without knowing the details that you are seeking.
Lexus has been running their "December to Remember" events for a number of years; can't tell you how much better will be than they are now.
What I do know is that the inventory of 2017 NXs will be smaller two months from now....
Thank you for the info and the explanation of how the residual gets reduced. I figured it had to somehow. The salesperson has been very good during the process and upfront about everything, but I wanted to get an expert opinion from Edmunds. Here are the details of the offer:
MSRP: $47,643 Sell Price $43,000
Lease Acquisition Fee: $795 NYS Reg Fee/Admin: $405 (Leasing are in PA, but registering in NY) Doc Fee/Misc: $199 Capitalized Cost: $44,399 Lexus Cash: - 1,800 (lexus incentive) Lexus Loyalty: -1,000 Adjusted Cap Cost: $ 41,599 Residual @ 36/18K yr 50.2% Money factor: 0.00035 -0- Down Payment
All Fees rolled into Monthly Payment Monthly Payment is $ 566.00 (with 2,800 Lexus rebates) I can also get the Monthly reduced to $ 537. month if family member qualifies for the $ 1,000. Lexus College Grad Cash New York State Sales Tax Included in payment: 8%
Do Both these payment make sense?
Lastly, since the extra miles at .20 lower the Resid, do I also have to add .20 per mile to the monthly lease amount? Sorry for my confusion.

NY collects sales tax upfront. If it's being rolled in, it should be reflected in the adjusted CAP cost. The payment looks close, but without the actual tax number, it's just an estimate. By reducing the residual, you are paying for the extra mileage in increased depreciation. It's already in the payment.
Thanks! The NYS Sales tax would be 1,512 (On the 566/month quote) So, if I add that to the Adjusted Cap Cost, that would increase the adjusted cap cost to: $ 43,111. They are quoting me 566/mo and 537/mo if I qualify for the extra 1,000 from lexus. both only 1st payment on delivery. I realize high mileage leases are often discouraged, but from a business deduction it makes sense and, if I decide to purchase at lease end, my total acquisition price would be thousands lower doing the lease and buy, versus a purchase from the beginning. Do you feel the monthly payment is good for this. Many thanks! M

With the .00155 MF, I get the same payment as the dealer.
With the base MF of .00055, the payment drops to $335/mo (tax included). $60/mo is a lot of money to give to the dealer.

I don't see $3000 anywhere.
The mileage reduction is 9000 X $0.20 = $1800. They divided the $1800 by the MSRP to come up with the 3.8% residual reduction (ergo, 50.2%)
