Is your $412/mo including the sales tax rolled in as well as the dealer paying the first payment?

and they're not Honda finance.. credit union figures

I used your selling price - if you are adding the taxes in, I'll need to know the adjusted cap cost.

  • What's the MF and Residual value on 2017 Honda pilot EX-L AWD 15/36 and 12/36?
I'm in PA/NJ area if that matters.

I get $433/mo with that adjusted cap cost ... your quote of $410 looks good by comparison.

  • And that includes the 2250 in payments left? Or could they have washed those out with the equity in my lease return (2014 pilot exl) that was way under mileage (14k under)?

Turning in the lease early is different that trading it in.

Ask the dealer how they are addressing the old lease - you could have equity in it but the dealer isn't addressing it that way, and rolling in the remaining lease payments.

Do you know what your old Pilot is worth? Check here with our in-house experts:

And, call Honda Finance to get the current payoff.

  • They told me it had $300 in lease equity... (which technically means nothing..). I give it back to them with a total of about 22000 left on the car (residual and 5 payments of 2250) the car is selling at the dealership for 30k

I'd confirm all the numbers. Call Honda to get the payoff, and check on the board I linked to get a trade value.

If you have a CarMax nearby, hit them up and see what they will offer you.

  • I am new to leasing.  I went to a dealer here in Tucson, AZ and they actually have Phoenix dealers beat as far as price for the car.  So I am looking at a 2017 Pilot EX-L with RES, 2WD.  36 Months/12k miles a year.  I have USAA pricing my trim preference at  $36,673.  With their tint the price of the car goes to $36,840.  Anyways they listed their MF at 0.00210, residual at 78.48 (isn't that high?).  But they have my paymentsister at $592 with nothing down and $560 with $1K down.  I am seeing folks on here get the EX-L in the $400+ range.  Please help thanks!

MSRP is $38,955.  No one is willing to budget on price.

    Using the following numbers:

    MSRP $38,955
    Cap Cost $36,840
    MF .00210
    Residual 62%

I get a payment of $481/mo plus tax.

Ask the dealer for the adjusted cap cost, and how they arrived at that number from the selling price.

They said the adjusted cap cost is 37843,  and they changed their residual back to 62%.  However they are sticking with their $592 a month nothing down, think the pilot is too high in demand and they are trying to take advantage I am going to shop their competitor or a luxary line and pay less or about the same  a month.

With residual of 62%, MF of .0021, and taxes (7.5% where I am) rolled in with no adjusting cap cost (41483) price is already at 618 just to give you a starting point. Every $1000 towards the cap cost reduction is typically 20-30 dollars. Hope that helps put things into perspective and help understand what they are doing with the numbers.
