    Adjusted cap cost: $30,223.19.

The accessories are not on the factory window sticker, but we have already agreed that the accessories are subject to the residual so we would not pay 100% of the of cost of the accessories over the life of the lease -- only 44%.

I get $340/mo plus tax with those prices.

Thats right. When you add the cost of the accessories of about $10/mo you get to the $351/mo figure.

This seems like a good deal in terms of taking advantage of rebates, lease cash, MF, etc. but wondering if I should try to get them down on the sale price.

Value also added when you consider they threw in three years orb oil changes etc.

The only way to improve on the payment is to reduce the selling price.

What is the oil change interval on the CX-5? If it's once a year, then the value isn't all that great.

Make sure you aren't stepping over dollars to pick up pennies.

I wanted to see if this was a good deal on a GT with no packages added. It is in Albany, NY.
    MSRP: $31,635
    Selling Price: $30,000
    Govt Fees: $222.50
    Doc Fees: $75.00
    Capitalized Taxes: $1,208.50
    Acq Fee: $595.00

    Gross Capitalized Cost: $32,100
    Residual Value: $18,032
    Rebate: $1,250
    Cash Cap Reduction: $350
    Net Cap Cost: $30,850.80
    Amt Paid by Customer: $356.55

Lease payment: $356.55 for 36 months

With those numbers, it looks like they are marking up the money factor to .00051 from the base .00001.
    That adds $24/mo.
I wanted to check in again with an update on these negotiations. I told the salesman that the payment was too high a money factor on this and that I actually liked the white with white interior trim. If they could give me a deal on the grand touring with the added premium package white on white car, I would consider their offer. So this is what they came up with for the car:

    MSRP: $33,665.00
    Selling Price: $30,855.00
    Govt Fees: $192.50
    Doc Fees: $75.00
    Capitalized Taxes: $1,222.07
    Acq Fee: $645.00
    Gross Cap Cost: $32,989.57
    Residual Value: $18,852.00
    Rebate: $1,250.00
    Cash Cap Reduction: $371.00
    Net Cap Cost: $31,726.68
    Amt paid by Customer: $371.00

They have my payment for 36 months 10k at $359.00 with $350 down which is what I told them I would pay,
don't know why they have $371.00 as what I am paying.

That also stated that the white on white car I wanted was actually a loaner car and because it was a loaner that with Mazda that vehicle has to be sold as a certified pre owned car. and cannot be leased. Is that true?
They have the car listed as a new car on their website with no mention of any miles on it or anything. They said they have another vehicle just like it on the lot but when I asked them to send me the link to the car they are talking about it was a White one with Black interior not the parchment like I wanted. He said his general manager said if I took the white one with black interior he would either save me some money on the payment or will cover the cost of maintenance for the duration of the lease whichever I wanted to go with.
Sorry its such a long post but I wanted to get all the information in. My questions are
    1) Is the actual lease quote they sent me for that price of car a good quote?
    2) Is is true what they said about a loaner car as far as not being able to lease it?
    3) What would be the best thing to do? I really wanted to get the white interior and they do have a red one that
has white interior but it is a MSRP of $34,310.
    Thanks in advance!

2)Don't know, but I don't see any motivation on their part to lie about it.
    3) Can't tell you what to do. I wouldn't want red or parchment, so my opinion isn't really important.
I think the deal they've given you is pretty decent. If they are willing to come down even more, that's the one I would take (but, I'm not the one leasing.. lol)

Hi!! I am looking for the October MF and residual for the 2017 AWD CX-5 GT and 36 Mo/12K in the SF Bay Area. Really really appreciate the moderators - could not imagine leasing without your help...

Also looks like lease cash is $1,250 and then another $500 for Mazda loyalty (I'm turning in an existing Mazda lease). Does that sound correct for SF Bay Area? Thank you so much!!!!

    Hello wonderful moderators
Right now I see leasing special on the base model 2017 CX-5 for $199 per month and $2000 down. How do you calculate that deal when translated into a higher trim with packages? Say a Grand touring without the head up display? Fwd front wheel drive

Is 56% and .00001 correct for Southern California (zip 90403)? And is there any lease cash?

You can't - the MSRP is higher on the GT, and the residual value is different.

What lease term and how many miles per year?

    What state? Incentives are regional.

Is this a good deal in NJ.

2017 -CX5 deep blue with preferred pkg -MSRP $28935
Dealer will give 1200 (discount)+ 1250 (lease cash) +750 (loyalty) cap reduction to $25735.
    MF=.00001
    residual = 57% 36/10k
Take my existing 2015 cx-5 touring lease with 2 payments left = 678

for 1st month payment of $320 up front and 35 payments of $320.

All done through email, not sure what will happen when I go to dealership.

    Thanks,

What is the adjusted cap cost, with the taxes and fees added in?

When you say "take" your existing lease, you are leaving the vehicle with the dealer? No extra costs to you? I'd like to know if that $678 balance will be rolled over into the new lease.

I would think cap cost is approx $27200 with the fees around $1465 without tax added I get ~297 per month, so taxes around $20 per month. The $320 includes dealer fees and taxes included. My lease calculator gives 297.86 without nj taxes and 319.20 with 7% nj tax although I think tax is slightly less now.

I'm not sure about the $678 left over lease payments. Your probably correct that they are rolled in. Should they be? I will ask for fees add to the lease when I go to the dealership. What are reasonable dealer fees for NJ?

    Thanks.

You are contractually obligated to make those payments, so it's very likely they have been added in to the new deal.

Dealer fees in NJ seem to be on the order of $200-500.

So if I already made all 36 payments the new lease price would not include the left over lease payments, so it would come out to around $300? I thought pull ahead program forgot about the last few payments. I guess that is a dealer half truth, the existing lease price always gets added to the new lease, so pull ahead is not forgiving final payments.

Not sure if you can answer, but what would be a fair lease final monthly cost for a touring with preferred pkg in NJ.

    Thanks for your answers.

The lease price is driven primarily by the price you negotiate. We don't track selling prices, so we don't know how low you can go.

If there is a defined "pull ahead" program from Mazda then yes, a certain number of remaining lease payments are waived. I'm not aware of such a program, however.

    Hello wonderful moderators
Right now I see leasing special on the base model 2017 CX-5 for $199 per month and $2000 down. How do you calculate that deal when translated into a higher trim with packages? Say a Grand touring without the head up display? Fwd front wheel drive
You can't - the MSRP is higher on the GT, and the residual value is different. What lease term and how many miles per year? What state? Incentives are regional.

    Thank you for your help

    10 k miles

I was quoted $0 down and $364 per month.. Is that average? Good deal? Bad deal?  It's in on 2017 GT cx-5 without head up display

What is the MSRP and adjusted cap cost associated with the $364/mo quote.

    Tax is 7% + 3% Lease Tax
That takes the payment to $247.50 - pretty close to the $250/mo quote.

    Hi,
Could you please look to these numbers for CX-5 AWS GT with premium package, 10/36, NJ:

    MSRP = $33720
    Sales price = $31195.87
    taxes = $899.78
    acquisition fee = $595
    Document fee = $499

    Gross cap cost = $33189.65
    Resudual value = $19220.40

    Cap cost reduction = $1387.65
    Adjusted capitalized cost = $31802

Amount due at lease signing = $2060 (cap cost reduction = $1387.65, gov fees = $322.36, first payment = $350)
    Rebates = $1610
Amount to be paid = $450

    Lease payment = $350 - 35 payments

Does it looks like a good deal?
    Thank you.

    Hi,

Can someone tell me what a good lease payment and the fees with the following MSRP and Sell Price?

    2017 CX-5 w/Preferred Package
    MSRP: $28,990
    Sell price including destination: $27,821
Zipcode: 60025 (suburb of Chicago so 8.25% tax)

I'm also considering buying the car, so if you can tell me if my price is competitive, I would appreciate that as well. Thanks for reading!

We would need to know the lease term and miles per year to calculate a lease payment.

We don’t track pricing – use the “make / model / year” tabs at the top of the page to link to the Edmunds price tools.

    1)The numbers are correct. $359/mo.
2)Don't know, but I don't see any motivation on their part to lie about it.
    3) Can't tell you what to do. I wouldn't want red or parchment, so my opinion isn't really important.
I think the deal they've given you is pretty decent. If they are willing to come down even more, that's the one I would take (but, I'm not the one leasing.. lol)
I held off on this deal for a little while and then asked what the discount would be for getting the
white with black interior as opposed to the white which was what I wanted. They came back with a
$349 amt so they came down $10 a month in the monthly payment. I asked them to give me the
worksheet with the numbers for the $349 and noticed that compared to the other quote for $359
a month the Acq fee is gone and the selling price for the car has gone up from $30,855 to $31,289.
With those differences they end up with the payment of $349 but I'm concerned about the increase
in selling price and if it would affect me in the long run? This is on the White with black interior
    Grand Touring with premium package.
    MSRP $33,665
    Selling Price: $31,189.31
    Govt Fees: $192.50
    Documentation Fee: $75
    Capitalized Taxes: $1,192.60
    Gross Capitalized Cost: $32,649
    Residual Value: $18,852
    Rebate: $1,250
    Cash Cap Reduction: $350
    Net Cap Cost: $31,398.40
    Amount paid by Customer: $350

Ok so requesting some help, I seem to be getting a lot less info from the dealer than many of you.... And I've had to fight for every scrap I could get

    I'm looking at a White 2017 cx-5 AWD GT w/ premium package

    Zip code is 21146

total MSRP of $33,790 broken down as follows:

    $30,695 MSRP
    $940 destination fee
    $1,830 premium package
$200 white paint (?? idk if this is normal)
$125 rear bumper guard (? also lol)

    $33,790 total

I've been told the lease for 36/15k will be $430/mon with everything rolled in

He has told me that the sale price is $30,610

He also told me that there will be no more 2017 cx-5's arriving before the 18's come in January but that seems like salesmanship to me. When I asked for a fee breakdown he told me that there are no additional fees and this is a true zero down. He has also said this is just including standard lease rebate available to everyone. I drive a mazda already so I ought to be able to get another $500 rebate if I understand how this works but I have not told him this yet.

Do these numbers seem reasonable? Should I be pushing for more transparency? $430 seems high but the best offer I had from another dealership was $425/mon including the $500 rebate, so this is a better deal than that I'm almost sure. Still seems high from what I've read on these last few pages... help! I'm probably just a [non-permissible content removed] negotiator, the other dealership I mentioned is refusing to provide any details either and is demanding I come in to learn anything.
