Ok so requesting some help, I seem to be getting a lot less info from the dealer than many of you.... And I've had to fight for every scrap I could get

    I'm looking at a White 2017 cx-5 AWD GT w/ premium package

    Zip code is 21146

total MSRP of $33,790 broken down as follows:

    $30,695 MSRP
    $940 destination fee
    $1,830 premium package
$200 white paint (?? idk if this is normal)
$125 rear bumper guard (? also lol)

    $33,790 total

I've been told the lease for 36/15k will be $430/mon with everything rolled in

He has told me that the sale price is $30,610

He also told me that there will be no more 2017 cx-5's arriving before the 18's come in January but that seems like salesmanship to me. When I asked for a fee breakdown he told me that there are no additional fees and this is a true zero down. He has also said this is just including standard lease rebate available to everyone. I drive a mazda already so I ought to be able to get another $500 rebate if I understand how this works but I have not told him this yet.

Do these numbers seem reasonable? Should I be pushing for more transparency? $430 seems high but the best offer I had from another dealership was $425/mon including the $500 rebate, so this is a better deal than that I'm almost sure. Still seems high from what I've read on these last few pages... help! I'm probably just a [non-permissible content removed] negotiator, the other dealership I mentioned is refusing to provide any details either and is demanding I come in to learn anything.

    .00001 MF and 54% residual
    $890 lease cash

Using your MSRP and adjusted CAP (selling price + $595 acq.fee + $2500 taxes/fees that you listed), I get $429.92/mo. That's always good when it matches their quote.

It's always good to go to the dealership and take a look at the window sticker, or have the dealer take a picture and text or email you a copy. Then, you'll know exactly what's on the vehicle.

But, it appears they've disclosed everything, considering the price matches up. As you've found, lease tax is expensive in MD, as they tax the full selling price of the vehicle.

The only way to lower that price, is to negotiate a lower selling price and/or hopefully get the extra $500 rebate. That $500 will save $14/mo.

To edit, move mouse to far right side of the post, even with your username, and a little gear will pop up next to that little box. There is probably a time limit for editing, but I'm not sure what it is.

    .00001 and 54% for 36/15
    $890 lease cash

    Let's walk through your deal.

    1. I have no problems with the MSRP; there is an upcharge for the special white paint, and the bumper guard is a factory accessory.
    2. Factoring in the lease cash, your discount from sticker is about $2300; use the 'make / model / year' pull downs at the top of the page to link to the price tools. We don't track pricing, so don't know if you can do better or not.
    3. Maryland taxes the entire selling price, making leasing more expensive than most other states. The number you need to get from the dealer is the "adjusted cap cost", which is the selling price plus all taxes and fees you are not paying up front. Once we have that number, we can calculate the payment and see where we stand.
    4. Any dealer that refuses to be transparent with the numbers is a dealer that doesn't deserve your business; be prepared to widen your search to Baltimore, Washington DC and Northern Virginia - it only takes one dealer to meet your numbers.

There is a "gear" icon next to your post; click it, and you have 4 hours to edit your post.

Again, get the adjusted cap cost, which includes the taxes and fees you've listed, plus the Mazda acquisition fee.

There is no mention of "adjusted cap cost" on the papers they gave us.
Is it the sale price...$31,933.00 minus total rebates...$1,610.00...Adjusted cap cost would be $30,323.00
    Thanks

Kind of hard to tell with that list.
    Is the MSRP $33,520?
If so, the adjusted CAP would have to be about $31,927 to get to the $365/mo. pre-tax payment.
You are missing some numbers. For instance, I don't see the $595 acquisition fee in there.
How much is due at signing, other than the $399 first payment?

Those are All the numbers the dealer gave me.
Sorry if I am missing something...new to all this
There is $0 due on delivery, as per my original question/post...They only list "Sale Price" as $31,933.00...And total financed aftermarkets... the $299.00 for theft deterrent
Is the acquisition fee rolled in with the advanced payments $398.90, the upfront charges, $306.55, and the total cap reduction $904.55...which btw, totals the same as the rebate...$1610???
    Thank you

Okay.. your upfront charges come out of the $1610 rebate/cash, and leave $905 for CAP reduction.
If we take the selling price, add the $299, plus $595 acquisition fee, then subtract the $905, that leaves an adjusted CAP of approx $31,923.

    That gives me $365.83+tax.
    $398.75 with tax (assuming 9%)... that's pretty close. ;)

The discount from MSRP is $1587, but adding $299 for theft deterrent (of little value).
    Seems like a decent deal.

Thank you for figuring things out with the limited info!
I thought the deal was average, seems like some of the posts for the same car are closer to $350 total
That would mean getting the selling price down about 2 grand to $30,000, if that math makes sense
    Thanks Again!!

thank, haha that 15 off is based on invoice price.. lol so he added $15 and then said he can give me a discount...

anyways, i told him i cant do the deal now since i have 4 payments left (add $10 extra) for the unaccounted for payment, $409. told him ill be back when my lease is closer to the end, since they are rolling in some of the "allowance" into this deal. i have 3k miles in 4 month. he said he can knock off about $40 a month if not for 4payments plus i also have to pay bmw disposition fee.$350

thanks for your help and correcting the % residual.

stayed up all last night reading most of the post on this chain and bmw.

Don't pay more that 1st month payment up front, Are you paying $2500 up front, Don't do it. The monthly prices quoted you should be able to get with only 1st month payment up front. If the previous lease is adding dollars to the quotes, wait until the lease is up.

Good morning.  Now that it’s November 1, it looks like new deals are up at mazdausa.com. Can you tell me what a Touring in Northern California would be? 36/12 and 36/15?    (Looks like the Sport promotional lease on the Mazda website is now for 33 months, is that unusual or a bad deal?)

.00009 MF and 54%/52% residual for 36 months.
    $1470 lease cash

The 33 month term is pretty much a wash for the Touring model, but it is better for Sport, Grand Select and GT.

I'm sure they have some reason for offering a special on 33 month leases, but anything I can come up with would just be a guess.

On the Touring, .00001 MF, but residual is just 3% higher than 36 months. As I noted in your post, it's not likely to lower your payment.

thanks, i figured that, if im going anywhere besides bmw, the dealer will roll the remaining payments into the new lease. is there a reason not to prepay the taxes and the other fees? i was told if i prepay the tax and fees i would not have to pay interest on the taxes and fees.

I'm in the market for a 2017 CX-5 Grand Touring with the premium package in Western NY, specifically buffalo, ny.

Looking for the current rates for a 15k/yr lease.

Dealership quoted me 33mos 55%, but this seems low.

    Please let me know,

    Thanks!

    Rebate $1470
    Adjusted Price $29548
    Residual value $18522.3
    33 months lease/10k
    Amount due at signing $2454
    Official Fees and Taxes $1297.47
    Capitalized cost reduction $1568.23
    Initial title fee $15
    Acquisition Fee $595
    Initial registration fees $182
    Sales or use tax $108.13
    Dealer document processing fee $210
Amount to be paid in cash $984
Rent Charge $16.31 (what is this?!)
    Base Lease payment $349.66
    Sales/use tax $20.98
    Total lease payment $370.64

It didn't mention anywhere but the salesman said the MF is .00001.
I am not really sure all these numbers seem right or not.

First of all, is this a good deal? and all these numbers make sense?
According to Edmund's lease calculating formula, I get $324 with 0 down.

    Thanks

Rent charge is the lease terminology for interest.

Ask the dealer for the adjusted cap cost - this is the selling price, plus any taxes or fees you aren't paying up front.

Is there a reason for the 33 month lease? My lease isn't up for 5 months but i'm over on miles and looking at a pullahead.

No no, I mean for Mazda to offer it. Why would they offer 33 shorter lease? What is their goal?

Also, my 16 CX5 had a residual of 62% when i leased it, why is this years so much lower?

They offer it to promote a lower payment and sell more cars.

And, you'll be in the market 3 months sooner, hopefully for them to sell or lease you another car.

Residual values are often inflated to make the payment seem smaller. When the cars come back from lease, they are worth less than what the contract said. Often, this leads the bank into adjusting the residual percentage to be more in line with the actual market.

Hello all. I'm looking for the MF, residual, and lease incentives on a GT 36/10 or 33/10 in 98115. I was told there's a manufacturer incentive for $1470 at one dealership and $1290 at one; why the difference?
