With your prices, I get $280/mo including 6.35% sales tax.

Ask the dealer what the adjusted cap cost is, and how they got to that number from the selling price.

    Hi Michaell,

I’m looking at getting an AWD CX5 Grand Select by the end of the month. Could you double check and make sure I have the right numbers for a 33/12 lease? The MSRP on the vehicle is 31135, and I’m looking to see if I can get that to 29500, and stay around $320 with no money down. My zip code is 12301.

    33/12 - 0.00001 and 59%
    $1800 lease cash

    Thanks!

Awesome, thank you for the reply. I quoted the car with my local dealership and found it was slightly better to go with the 36mnth/12k mile lease at 0.00009 and 57%. I was quoted $342 with first month's payment at pick up for a selling price of $29.5k.

I had a question on the tax. Since I'm in NYS, the tax is levied on the total lease payment. When does it make sense to pay the tax up front? It looks like the tax is around $1,000. If I pay this up front, and during the course of my lease the car is totaled, I would lose that $1,000 correct? Instead if I rolled the tax into the monthly payment so that I have to only make the first month's payment, if the car is totaled during the course of the lease then I wouldn't loose whatever portion of the $1,000 that hasn't been paid? Is this basically the same as just not putting a down payment on the lease? Or putting a down payment to get a lower monthly payment, but then you might lose that downpayment if the car is totaled?

The tax in NY is assessed against the total number of payments.

Your assumptions are correct - if you prepay the tax, and the car is stolen or totaled, you won't get a refund. Better to roll the tax amount into the cap cost.

I know tomorrow is the last day but looking for current lease cash for Grand Select AWD in Greater Indianapolis, Indiana. I've seen both $1,470 and $1,800? Trying to confirm 33/12

Dealer quoted $320 before tax. Seems right based on below?
    (MSRP $31,135) @ 59% = $18,370, (Sale $30,385 Less $1,480 Lease Cash = $28,915 Total Costs). Basically, $10,545 of depreciation over 33 months = $320.

Using your magic wand, will December incentives be equal, better, or worse than November?

Thanks a lot for the help today! I really appreciate it. We ended up getting into a CX5 Grand Select for $318 a month, original MSRP was $31,135 (318 due at pickup). We were able to leverage some other offers to get a sales price of $29k, and went for the 33mnth/12k mile lease at 0.00001 and 59%. Wouldn’t have been able to figure it all out that quickly today without your help.

Michael and kyfdx. I'd like to thank you both for being probably the most up front and helpful people this whole car experience has provided me with . I finalised that deal and will be going to pick it up tomorrow which just happens to be the last day of the deal. I personally would've been fine with the Hyundai Tucson or Kia Sportage due to their deals but the missus loved the Mazda and I guess it is a pretty car so I couldn't be happier .

Also just a side note. I was in conversation with the bank that provides the lease loan on the car and they gave me a few tips on the lease contract and what to look for to avoid extra payments. Are they reliable sources since they do mark up or down the value of the car themselves and drive the prices their way at the end of the lease ?

Just signed a great lease deal (I think) for 2017 CX-5 GT AWD premium in 98052.
    33 months/12K, 57% Residual, 0.00001 mf and 1470 lease cash.

The dealer initially offered me this deal with 0.0005 mf. I used the info I found on this forum & asked for 0.0001. Was pleasantly surprised in the end that I got even lower rate (0.00001) and zero cash down. I am very happy with the deal. Big thanks to the moderators for all the useful info here.

I got chase auto finance helping me out on what to look for in the leasing agreement as in what sections the dealer uses to put in extra junk and whether he doubles up on gap insurance and adds one on top in the agreement .  That's basically what they mentioned and they asked to give them a call when the contract is being read

Haha .  I know right? Well let's see what the final contract actually looks like when I pick it up .
Would the money factor be different for the Touring AWD at tier 2 credit ? I think I saw one guy asking where it didn't change but just wanted to confirm .  CT state

    Thanks again

    GS
    .00001 MF and 59% residual
    .00009 MF and 55% residual
    Subtract 2% for GT residual

    $1470 lease cash, either trim.

    Hi all,

Could really use your advice. Want to get a better deal than the last one.

Current lease on 2016 GT AWD up in March. Dealership may be willing to deal because I only have 25K miles on 36K lease with 4 months to go.

Want to possibly get a 2017 GT AWD this month. What is the MF and residual in 06787 for a 36/12? Are there any incentives? They have one I'm interested in at $31,890 MSRP.

What is the best approach for this situation?

    Thanks

    Hi guys,

Would love your opinion on a lease offer I received. This was from a few days ago in Nov so subject to change for Dec.

Lease is for a 2017 CX5 GT w/o premium package
    Located in Joliet, IL
    MSRP $31,635
    Sale price $28,960
Lease cash $1,250 (no longer available since it's Dec)
    33/12k
    MF 0.00001
    Residual of 57% ($18,032)
    $1999 down $289/month

Another lease for a 2017 CX5 GT WITH premium package
    Located in Joliet, IL
    MSRP $33,465
    Sale price $30,589
Lease cash $1,250 (no longer available since it's Dec)
    33/12k
    MF 0.00001
    Residual of 57% ($19075)
    $1999 down $309/month

Does anything here look off or any areas I can negotiate further? Anything I've missed?

Hi, can I get the December MF, RV and any incentives for the CX-5 Grand Select AWD, 33/12K. Zip 19702. Do incentives generally change if I look outside of DE to neighboring states like PA, NJ or MD? Thanks.
