I've been quoted $365(tax included) with $1000 down, 33/12k. Sales price 29k. Is this a good deal? I'm in south Florida and would like to get them down to $315 w/ $750 down. Do you think it's possible

    Trim level?
    MSRP?

$50/mo is another $1800 off the selling price.

    .00001 and 57%

With the MSRP and selling prices provided, I get $309/mo plus tax.

Ask the dealer what adjusted cap cost they used for their quote, and how they arrived at that number from the selling price.

Can you provide MF, residual, and incentive numbers for both St Louis, MO and Denver, CO, for both GT and GS, 33m/10kmi and 33m/12kmi? Also, why is 33m considered the sweet spot? Is it because of property/ownership tax?

    Thanks!

Thanks!  I wanted to confirm that above numbers are for 33/12, not 36/12.

Looking at a 2017 GS FWD model with sticker price of $30,555.  I believe the following numbers would apply for a 33/10... is this right?
    RV 60%
    MF .00001
    Lease Cash $1800

If I can get the negotiated price down to $29,030 and then throw in the lease cash of $1800, what lease payment would that be with $0 down?

Correct.. those are the 33 month numbers
Adding in the $595 acquisition fee, $265/mo.+tax
That doesn't include any DMV/dealer fees, though.

GS has a higher RV than GT.

    Would appreciate the following information:

    1. Residual percentages on (i) a 2018 CX-5 Touring AWD; (ii) a 2017 CX-5 Touring AWD; and (iii) a 2017 CX-5 Grand Select AWD for a 3 year 10k miles/year lease and a 3 year 12k miles/year lease. I am in CA.

    2. Money factor for December for the 2018 and 2017 CX-5 with the above.

    3. Any intel on expectations for getting below MSRP for the 2018 above or the 2017s?

    Thanks much!

There are no 2018 CX-5 lease numbers, yet.

33 months is the sweet spot from Mazda, this month

    .00001 and 58% (Touring) or 60% (GS) for 33/10; subtract 1% for 12K

Thanks. Do you know what incentives are in play for CA on the GS AWD or Touring AWD for 33/10 or 36/10? Also, does Mazda have a loyalty program. We have a 2015 Mazda CX-5 that we bought?

    Thanks again for your help!

One last question (for now....). Can you/anyone identify what are the principal differences between the 2018s and the 2017s. Been searching online and some say 2018 is the redesign year, but it seemed like 2017 was the big change. It appears they got rid of the Grand Select trim and now just have gone back to GT, T and S, but are there major differences between 2018 and 2017? Appreciate the input. You all are great!

    Hi Guys,
I'm currently negotiating lease on CX-5 GT AWD - 10k/33. Here are the numbers we are working with:

    MSRP: 32,285 - 1800 = 30,485 - 2650 (lease incentive and loyalty) = 27,835 Cap Cost

My math comes out to 277 base payment + CT Tax = 293. (Paying Acq/fees up front).

Dealership is saying this should come out to 320 /month. Says I'm calculating the 2650 incorrectly and there is also tax on that. Taxes would only be 168.27.

How do you calculate the lease incentive and loyalty. Are my numbers off?

Maybe marking up the money factor?
Mazda allows dealer to markup by .00050

Ask for the actual adjusted CAP cost, and see how it differs.

Hi. I just got this quote from the dealer in my area. (SoCal) for 2017 Mazda CX-5 GS

    33 / 12 term lease
    MSRP: $31,160

    Selling price: $29,787
    Neg. Equity: $1,500
    Fee: $595
    Cap taxes: $243.19
    Gross Cap Cost: $32,125.21

Net Cap Cost Reduction: $3,057.94 (includes rebates and $700 downpayment for first month and DMV)
    Net Cap Cost: $29,067.27

Lease payment is $324.19 monthly or $349.31 with tax.

Is this a good deal? Thanks.

@jenmed0386 Aside from the $1630 lease cash, what other rebates exist?
    $3057 - 700 (down) = $2357 - 1630 = $727 <what rebate is this?

**Is the car being sold at $727 back of invoice?

@awedio i am not sure. They gave me $1,372 discount off msrp and another $3,130 in rebates. One of them being the LA auto show $500 rebate. The net cap reduction is broken down as follows:

    -$3,130 rebate
    -$700 down
    +$772.06 inception fees

    hope this helps. Thanks.

I'd ask about that -- wouldn't want the dealer trying to give you a purchase incentive that would cause the contract to get kicked back by the bank, resulting in a higher payment.

And, skip the $700 down - just pay first payment and DMV fees up front.

The breakdown of the rebates is $1,800 lease cash, $330 socal market cash, $500 LA auto show, $500 bonus for grand select trim.

I ended up lowering negative equity to $1,300 and no money down. Monthly now at $363 (incl tax). Was this an ok deal?

    1st payment: $245.14 +
    DMV = $264 +

I had an issue with a dealer this weekend. I negotiated car to $600 under invoice PLUS the incentives ($2700 in loyalty and lease cash) In effect, this would be $3300 under invoice. The dealer's numbers were not match mine though (we had same MF, residual, MSRP) etc. He was $30+ higher. He tells me the incentives get put under the money due at signing column and thus doesn't work the same as taking it off the cap cost (selling price). I think he is playing games.
