Thank you! Picked up my new Grand Select yesterday afternoon. Must tell you not all dealers would honor the current incentives. I had to go outside of my metro area.

What is the formal approval time for these leases through Mazda Capital? I took the car home on a Sunday and I always worry about the dealer pulling a yo-yo. When is it a "done deal"? A few days? Weeks?

Probably 7-10 days before you hear anything. Possibly a little longer with the holidays. Of course, that doesn't mean that they haven't approved the credit before that.

When I bought a BMW in September, they set up the first payment 45 days out. F&I guy says it's to give BMWFS 15 extra days to get the paperwork done. So, there is your two week time period.

Thanks for the info earlier today. Here's the offer I received, curious what you all think - especially because I'm seeing lower #'s in the forum.

Grand Select AWD - 33mo/12k miles
    MSRP - 31,730
    Sale Price - 28,840
    MF - .00001
    Residual - 59%
Monthly Payment - $350 (includes taxes for DuPage county, Illinois)
    No money down

    Thanks!

Hi.  Do you have the numbers for a Grand Touring AWD 36/12?  I see a a lot of 33/12 in the chain.  Is that a common duration for Mazda?  If so I’d like those numbers as well.  I’m in Northern VA

    Thanks!

For December, 33 months is the featured term, and will result in a lower payment, all else being equal.

If the dealer is playing "hide the numbers", you might want to seek out a different dealer.

I'm curious about the kind of lease deal I might get on a 2017 CX-5 Grand Touring (and I guess Grand Select while you're at it) FWD in 78701. Also, I gather that 33 months is the featured lease duration, but how does that translate in mileage? Like, if I typically need 15k/year, do they cap that 33 month lease at 45k miles, or is it the prorated 41k? I'd imagine we can negotiate whatever I want, but I'm curious as to the typical terms that Mazda uses in this case. Thanks again.

    2 questions:

    1) Is it possible to know the January lease program offerings before January starts?

My situation is I have a lease deal based on December that is good till Tuesday 1/2. I may not be able to complete the deal by Tuesday. If I do the deal after Tuesday I will be in the January lease month.

    2) Even if you can't get this ahead of time, can you reasonably predict with the 2018s soon coming that the lease programs for 2017s in January will be close to what they were in December, specifically in terms of lease cash incentives?

Even if I get a weatherman-like prediction from this forum based on your experiences it will be helpful to me. My hunch is that I won't lose out if I do the deal last day of December program and it will be similar and possibly even slightly better in January.

In a state with monthly sales tax 9% on lease payments it's a 2017 GS AWD 33/12k, MF .00001, Resid 59%, MSRP $31,135, SP $28,800. With all fees except 1st payment capitalized I am looking at $290 monthly which looks to me like a very good deal.

Ended up leasing a 2017 GT AWD. Deal was:
    MSRP 31,965 (Machine Grey upgrade)
    Sell Price 29565 (8% disc)
    MF .00001
    Res 58%
    Doc $599
    Tax 7.65%
    Acq $595
    Rebate 1800
I don't have the exact numbers on me but my payment was 340~350$ then I rolled some negative equity into it. Not the absolute best deal I could have gotten but they gave me a huge bump on my trade vs CarMax and other dealers so in essence I got closer to a 10% discount comparatively to other dealerships.

FYI Michael I ended up going with Groove, they were awesome to deal with, didn't really have to negotiate and they gave me a great trade deal. Actually my second car from them.

Thanks for all the help with the lease programs on various cars I’ve looked at. Definitely helped to know going in about the low money factor deal (first offer from the dealer had it written at like .0007 and I was just like, “Yeah...no.”).

I've picked out a 2017 CX-5 Grand Select FWD, Soul Red (+$$$ but the wife likes it).  I helped the salesman peel the factory plastic and transit stickers off it, so nobody has driven it but me.

A funny thing happened in negotiation. I have these spreadsheets I use to calculate what I believe should be my “goal price” on a given car lease. Basically invoice - holdback - any rebates I can find. I gave them my number and they matched it and wouldn’t go lower. I was happy. I later came to realize my calculations were off and that I would have been happy with an even higher payment. So...I’m guessing there are other factory-to-dealer coupons or volume bonuses or something that allowed them to match my number anyway. They did include a “bank pays some sales tax” stuff thrown in, which always adds some confusion. Makes me wonder what would have happened if I had gone even lower. Anyway.

I backed out the sales tax incentive to turn it back into a standard deal and I get something like this:

    MSRP $30,680
Sale price $29,454 (my original "goal price")
    Lease cash $1470
    Additional "bank" discount equivalent $1500
    MF .00001
    Residual 57%
    33 months, 15k per year
In Texas, we pay 6.25% tax on the whole price instead of just the payment or net cap.
I capitalized the title and other fees of $301 as well as acquisition of $595 for a monthly payment of $350. Which is all I owe for the first month and I’m out the door.

All things considered, I think that’s a pretty solid deal with no loyalty or affiliate rebates and $0 down.  Anyone catch anything I missed in my calculations before I sign?

We chose this over a 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport (MSRP $31,910 at ~$370/mo for 36 months), which was itself a sweet lease offer.  ‘Tis the season for good deals on last year's cars, it would seem.   Thanks again for all the help.

That's a good deal, considering Texas sales taxes.

FYI Michael I ended up going with Groove, they were awesome to deal with, didn't really have to negotiate and they gave me a great trade deal. Actually my second car from them.

We bought the wife's 2010 CX-7 from Groove Mazda, and then we replaced that with a 2015 Outback, also from Groove Subaru on Broadway. Agreed, that they are a pleasure to work with.

Hey you guys are amazing. I tried to read through everything to make sure this wasn't specifically posted yet so apologies if I missed it.

Can I get Residual, MF, and Incentives on:

    2017 CX-5 Grand Touring AWD - 33mo/12k & 33mo/15k

*Edit- removed 2018, I see those are not available yet.
